I've been reading up on kit reviews and such for the '49/'50 Ford coupe/convertible..... My understanding is that all the good kustom parts are in the '50 kit. I'm wondering.... what all custom parts come in the convertible? I want to build the coupe, but with the kool custom parts...... I've also seen where there are hop-up parts for the engine? Thanks for any help!

Model Build Thread by Make and Model.

The search feature works best if you only search one word...... For instance, my next build will be a '49 Ford coupe. To look at builds of them, I go to "under glass, model cars" and search "shoebox" (as that's what most folks call them). You can go to each section and choose "this forum" and only get results from that section...... -

Hey, guys.... I've got another project I've been thinking about lately. I'm wanting to build a 'shoebox' Ford coupe in Tamiya's TS-59 "light red pearl"...... Would any of you happen to have a model painted with this paint? The reason I ask is I'll need another color to do the interior and I'm not sure what to use.... I'm thinking gray and white would look good for the inside. So let's see those rosey pink cars and the color chosen to pair with it, please...... Thanks!

Those are all really good! What do you finalize the drawings with? It looks like it makes a really clean line......

What is needed to build this?
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Don't steal the idea that I stole! I've always liked the East Coast style hotrod, seems as much "kustom" as it is a hotrod.... Lots of good info guys...... Thank you! -
David, this is the inspiration pic that I've chosen the color combo from...... Very sharp car, I think!

Thanks for the responses, guys.... It's the same basic kit of the same car, just different decals and wheels.........

Hey, guys! I've been making progress on a new build.... the 1/16 MPC Trans Am. So far i have the basis of the engine done.... and the dash is pretty much finished. I used the 'best model car parts' gauge faces, drilling out the gauges themselves and mounting the gauges from the back..... This kit is Huge! It's my first big scale automotive kit, hope I can do a good job on it....... Thanks for lookin' and comment freely.....

What is needed to build this?

Thanks a bunch, Bill! So I could use this kit for the frame? Then use the body from the Monogram Model A that you posted? Then I'm just a "Z" and suicide front perch away from being close? -
I found this awesome kustom/hotrod on the gram of insta.... I was wondering what I would need to build it. I LOVE the proportions of it, being channeled but not chopped. It looks to me like the trunk area has been stretched also.... What else was probably done to it? Thanks for any help!

What Did You Have for Dinner?

Had this for lunch today.... Some good roast beef on a toasted hamburger bun with real bacon bits, fried onion, and barbecue sauce, with some french onion Sun Chips..... Pretty tasty and semi-healthy! -

There's a company that makes kits to mount a 5 cylinder turbo Volvo engine in the P1800......... To me that would be the ultimate "canyon carver"! -
