I am waiting for your weathering  ...

Sorry to disappoint but the weathering is going to be little to none.  I am building the kings mobile throne as it first appeared in the movie-shiny and chrome.  I hope in the future to replicate this descending platform to display it on.  In my opinion it was a big mistake to weather it as heavy as they did.  A quick race and chase in the desert would not produce the rust and staining that shows up on the gigahorse considering the condition it started in.  I hope you'll still enjoy the build-I think it's coming along nicely.  Steve   IMG_1769.thumb.JPG.cc2e691ba1094041d90bfc9e351befb7.JPGIMG_1770.thumb.JPG.3a9abc8cfaf3d1e6474e33e8b426ec40.JPG

Nice Ploughboy Dave and I have yet to mess with the dash pad.  It will be a challenge.  I did get the steering wheel done this week.  It is a little fuller looking than the reference but looks good in person.  I just can't get a good closeup picture that shows what it looks like to the naked eye.  Thanks for looking.  Steve

Thanks for the compliments.  I managed to get a couple of the flaming skull details done.  While not perfect they should work fine.  The small interior pieces were drawn on .015" styrene, cut out, painted and will be glued to the bulkhead during interior assembly.  This thing is still fun and challenging and I'm liking how it's turning out despite all the problems and complications.  I hope to get it plumbed this weekend if all goes well.  Thanks for looking.  Steve

Steve, I have been following his from the start and continue to be amazed at how well all your various sub-assemblies fit together on such a massive project.  You are really teaching us all that a human being can do anything!  This is like a batchelor's degree course in scratchbuilding!

Cheers

Alan

Thanks Alan, it is appreciated.  Well my hand is getting too shaky to finish the delicate gluing and fitting of the rest of the plumbing.  I did make some good progress so I'll share some new pics.  It's coming together nicely and is starting to get very front heavy making for careful handling.  I would hate to drop it now!!  Thanks for following.  Steve

I wonder if the thought behind it was since it was so much scrap metal that it was polished not plated and therefore would rust or corrode quickly? Or it was just a metaphor and you're right about the over weathering.  Either way I'm really enjoying following your build and I think the platform idea is a perfect way to display it. Thanks for taking the time to post your progress.
