Erik Smith Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Here is Revell's devious please-take-everything-else-off-your-bench-and-build-me 1929 Ford Model A Roadster. Mostly box stock - different wheels and tires and velocity stacks added... Great kit
vintagedragcrazy Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Wow that's really nice erik I built mine too and really enjoyed it I built mine kinda rusty and dusty something I never do but it turned out really cool great job buddy.vince
Tom Geiger Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 NIce work, I love your interior pattern. Your description is right! I did just that, I moved everything aside and build mine in two weeks without stopping.
Ramfins59 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Great job Erik. So far I've resisted the urge to work on my kit, but I do have some serious plans for it and am accumulating some parts for it.
slusher Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Beautiful model Erik. What tires did you use...?
maltsr Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Nice build Erik, it sure is a devious little kit!
peekay Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Very nice indeed! Great photography too, wish I could do that.
mustang1989 Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Man that's some great work Erik! Among the other details I really like the interior trim designs. Wow!
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 (edited) Supremely clean little '29. Looks like a car that was built to be driven hard and enjoyed...the essence of a real hot-rod. Edited December 18, 2015 by Ace-Garageguy
bbowser Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Wow, that is nice! What did you use for plug wires, they really look in-scale?
wayne swayze Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Beautiful build! Love the tires, wheels, wiring, colour and interior! Sweet hot rod!
Jairus Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 That is very nicely done! 10/10 if it was a box art model. Changing out some of the bits were an improvement to be sure. But what really excites me is the high quality photography. This guy has skill!
Erik Smith Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Beautiful model Erik. What tires did you use...?Thanks Carl - rear tires are from the Revell Rat Roaster with Fireball Modelworks decals - fronts are from the parts bin with vinyl whitewalls. Wow, that is nice! What did you use for plug wires, they really look in-scale?Thanks Bruce - I think the wires are Detail Master - they were in my wire stash and loose, but pretty sure they are the race car diameter wires. Thanks for for the comments! I learned a bit about the kit too and plan to do another!
JTalmage Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 That is an absolutely gorgeous build Erik. I mean really, it's stellar. Super clean. I'm guessing the rear tires are rat roadster tires, and fronts are AMT parts pack? I also love the decals on the seats. Are those from the kit? I dont recall what was on the decal sheet myself at this moment.
Lunajammer Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Absolutely superb. Scuff the tires and put it in Real Or Model.

Front tires are from AMT - don't know which or where...the whitewall is vinyl decal. The decal sheet is custom - I just find a pattern image I like, print out on decal paper and, for this kit, use the kit decals to cut them to size.
Burnout Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Beautiful work! Now I want to start on mine.
