Same here, Ron. I really need to finish one. Here’s a vintage custom I was working on years ago, based on the Revell conv. Chopped, channeled, and sectioned with a narrowed Carson top from the Revell ‘48 conv.

Same here. Never finished one. The chopped Copper one is close. I've got the chassis half done, the interior completed and a few more bits and pieces. Someday I'll get back on it.

Many real beauties from a beauty!

My Tudor from 1962 is chopped, channeled and sectioned with wire formed dual headlights and is a scale 48" high. Sorry for the poor photos.

I'm getting very close to finishing my Lindberg 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. So far it's looking very good. Very close to AMT's '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. A few minor things that are not as easy to put together as the AMT version. But, it does look almost identical in most other ways.

My only problem comes down to posting pictures here of the kit. What service are people now using for posting pictures here? I'd like to share my Lindberg '40 Ford when it's done. Like I say. It's looking quite good, as I finish the last stages of building.

Having been a victim of Photobucket,  I simply upload directly from my laptop by clicking on the 'choose files' option when creating a post.  No need to use a hosting service now that the board has unlimited storage.

Good to hear! Thank you. I will be posting my Lindberg '40 in a few days then.

Barn find '40, made of multiple parts box pieces.

The fenders are Lindberg, with the grille cut, and replaced by one out of a damaged set of AMT fenders. Wheels, from 04 different kits... Body is AMT.

Dash is Lindberg, with the super wrong radio speaker face.

Steering wheel is from a '49 Ford.

Engine is AMT. Chassis is also AMT, with the rails busted and glued back together.

I built this one from the AMT Diamond in the Rough kit when it was released in the middle 1980's . It was going to have been a part of a Service station diorama that I never completed . Because of it's "Period " custom parts , I chose to do it as a mild custom about 1963 . That should explain the striped "Rolled and Pleated " interior . Readers who are Henry Gregor Felson's automotive books will recall the 1940 Ford in a couple of his books

Without a doubt the AMT '40's are my favorite kits of all time. Here are a few I put together over the many years.

I've not seen any convertibles, so here's one. It's the Revell kit, with added wood. The light-colored wood is real 1/32" plywood and the darker inset wood is from a decal I made.

This is not a "true" woodie, since the trunk is still metal; it's an adaptation of the approach Chevy used on their sedans. My approach to "Woodification" is contained in a tutorial as well as a back-issue of the magazine.

In the photo above, note the open fresh air vent, a fairly simple (yet obvious) enhancement.

The strange looking marks on the bottom of the tires are due to the model sitting on a clear plastic base

I tried something new (to me, at least) by putting welting where the fenders attach to the body; I've posted a tutorial on how to do this. The title of the tutorial is "Another use for thread" or something like that.

I also modified the plugs/wires to have a tiny bit of the plug showing at the bottom of the boot; there's another tutorial on this one too. The title of the tutorial is "Snug spark plug boots" or something like that.

Wow! A very nice bunch of '40 Fords. I especially like the ones you did based on the box art. Very cool ?. Very old school.

Gotta love those Box Art builds ;)

Just finished this in the last hour or so. I think it turned out okay. It Lindberg's 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. The one that comes the Dodge L-700 and flatbed trailer. Not a bad kit. Again, as I've noted before, the kit is similar to the AMT '40 Ford Deluxe coupe kit. The real major difference is the wheels mount. I found them a little hard to set up. I much prefer AMT's setup with the old metal axles. Say what you like, they look and work just fine for me.

Again be obsessive compulsive the way I am, I went ahead and ordered two more 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe model kits today. One is the latest AMT reissue. The old classic. The other, the recently reissued MPC snap kit. I'm going to need a little body putty to fill in holes, to build that close to stock.

That's so cool it hurts.   :D

If possible please post more photos of the Bonneville streamliner. That was a ton of custom work and is extremely cool.

Here you go, Tom. Below is the link to the album. I actually meant it be a early fantasy drag car built by a customizer.  I'm really glad you both liked it.

Resin copies of the body show up on eBay or at swap meets from time to time.
