kenlwest Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 This was a high school dream car of the early 70's. It is painted Testors Burgandy Red Metallic. The only disappointment with this one, is the hood, sitting high on the radiator... probably my fault. The model was designed with too much rear end sag. I was able to compensate by adding shackle blocks at the aft end of the leaf springs. The glass fitment was greatly improved by cutting the windshield and rear glass from the one-piece that was provided by the kit. Hope you like it. 9
kenlwest Posted June 13, 2023 Author Posted June 13, 2023 Looking at the pictures, I noticed that the Mustang lettering is upside down! My eyes are 66 years old!
espo Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 The paint work looks great along with the color. I remember a customer that had one of these when new that was whatever color Ford offered that looked just like this. His was a small block and 4 speed, it was a runner. Like the wheel detailing.
happy grumpy Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 My all time favorite Mustang and you did a great job on it. It looks great in this color.
KWT Posted June 13, 2023 Posted June 13, 2023 (edited) nicely done.. the color suits it well Edited June 13, 2023 by KWT
karbuildr Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Excellent build. One of my favorite Testors colors and it looks great on your Mustang. I agree about the wheels, nice detailing.
bisc63 Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Nice looking Mustang! Don't think I (or most people) would have noticed the lettering snafu if you hadn't mentioned it!
