Miatatom Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 It's a sad day, isn't it. I still watch the reruns even though I've seen them hundreds of times.

mikemodeler Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Might have to head up to Mt. Airy and have me a pork chop sandwich and visit the Andy Griffith museum. May he rest in peace.
cobraman Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I agree. The Andy Griffith show Is one that has past the test of time and is still a great show today. Rest in peace Mr. Griffith.
Joe Handley Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Wow, sorry to hear this, at least he has some friends there already.
Johnag4004 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 RIP Sir... Andy Griffith Show Episode 1 season 1 (for anyone who doesn't know what the show is)... http://youtu.be/xIjMrK0mkHI
Chuck Most Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Loved the Andy Griffith show, but I also thought he was great as General Rancor in Spy Hard.
Dr. Cranky Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I grew up on the show, and still can whistle the theme song which is what I am doing right now. R.I.P.
Dr. Cranky Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 And Aunt B? Opie hopefully will not join them too soon.
bbowser Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Such a great show, always with a moral at the end! Truly a great actor and producer. I saw a show a while back that said nothing got on that show that wasn't scripted/rehearsed. He was a taskmaster on the set but the end result speaks for itself. RIP Sheriff!
Harry P. Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 And Aunt B? Opie hopefully will not join them too soon. Not Opie! He's only in his 50s.
Dr. Cranky Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Ron Howard is in his 50s? Oh, time. TIME is NOT on anybody's side!
MAGNUM4342 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Sad for our loss, happy for heaven's gain. One thing I remember about Andy, he sure could pick a mean guitar!
Joe Handley Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 And Aunt B? Opie hopefully will not join them too soon. Yup, Opie and Gomer have to be about the only regular cast members left, Goober past not too long ago too Sad for our loss, happy for heaven's gain. One thing I remember about Andy, he sure could pick a mean guitar! Did you guys notice a much younger Denver Pyle in the Darling Clan there?
58 Impala Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 I grew up watching that show, never get tired of the reruns. One of my favorite movies that is true Andy Griffith is "No Time for Sergeants". That movie makes me laugh every time.
TooOld Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Really sad news . I was actually watching The Andy Griffith Show , like I do everyday , when I saw the news on the net .
bbowser Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Yup, Opie and Gomer have to be about the only regular cast members left, Goober past not too long ago too Did you guys notice a much younger Denver Pyle in the Darling Clan there? Also the bluegrass band "The Dillards" played 'the boys'. I have several of their albums (yes vinyl) from back in the day. I loved Denver Pyle as Briscoe Darling as he growled at Andy and Barney! "Why sheriff, I didn't know you strang!"
Harry P. Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 She wasn't really a regular, but Thelma Lou is still around.
sjordan2 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 (edited) Once upon a time, America used to tune in to a gentle show about nice people with strong values and a theme of love. These days? How about "The Real Housewives of Mayberry." Edited July 3, 2012 by sjordan2
rel14 Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Mayberry will never be the same,, May he Rest in Peace.. it scares me to see everybody i grow up watching ,is slowly passing on.. Are Generation is fading away,, Rest in Peace Andy..
Guest Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Sad day indeed. We lost a great one. I met the lady who played Helen Crump back in 87 at a Andy Griffith convention in Winston/Salem North Carolina.
