Dr. Cranky Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 That's a beauty of a model. Rich color too.
Scalper Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 nice i like the 6 banger. the trunk is cool too nice job.
cobra98 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I agree with all of the above, really nice work!!
crazyjim Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 X 3. How did you do the trunk? I like the SHINY :)
The70judgeman Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) A straight 6...you don't see that often in a Mustang model. Very cool. Edited November 18, 2012 by The70judgeman
slusher Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Beautiful Mustang, amazing detail... Where did you get the ford 6cyl?
Sixties Sam Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Very nice Mustang! I like the 6 banger. I did a 66 with one a while back. Great finish on yours. The trunk looks good. Is the luggage rack scratch built? It's a nice touch. Sam
realgone58 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Love the redlines and the straight six. Looks great!
Ford guy Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Excellent job Tom! That's one good lookin' Mustang! Love that six banger, way to be different. Good job on the trunk too. Very good replica of an average joe Pony Car. Very cool. Roy the Ford guy
gasser59 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 (edited) I likes this one very much. I have one on my to-do list but with the 289. So tell me more about the better '67 chassis vs. the '66. If its that much better, I'll follow your lead. Edited November 18, 2012 by gasser59
Drgon63 Posted November 18, 2012 Author Posted November 18, 2012 I likes this one very much. I have one on my to-do list but with the 289. So tell me more about the better '67 chassis vs. the '66. If its that much better, I'll follow your lead. the 66 chassis is very generic...no shock towers , molded in detail that you would like to have separate drive train is much more accurate, and if your planning on doing a 289 car the engine from the 67 is much nicer in all aspects then the 66's... you will have to graft the engine bay from the 67 onto the 66's body, it is almost a direct fit with a little sheet styrene and some minor trimming ... i removed the center drive shaft hump from the 66 interior and trimmed it to fit over the 67's trans tunnel... X 3. How did you do the trunk? I like the SHINY :) scale motorsports decals were used as the floor mat and to cover the spare tire cover that i believe comes in the 66 kit Beautiful Mustang, amazing detail... Where did you get the ford 6cyl? The six is from Bandit resins and converted from his 170ci six and the trans is from MAD with modifications to make it have the High mount starter position, The Mad trans comes withe the later low mount starter position Thanx guys for all your feeback
JustBill Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Nice job Tom. Don't see too many built in this fashion. Its got just the right touch of detail too.
TooOld Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 It looks great with a six ! And I love the trunk too !
bbowser Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Beautiful model of a mainstream car. I'd wager Ford sold more 6 cyl Mustangs than V8s back in the day, this captures it perfectly. I love it!
charlie8575 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Absolutely beautiful, Tom. The six makes it so much more unique, as well as the color and trim. Is that rack a kit part or did you make or scavenge that from somewhere else? Charlie Larkin
Drgon63 Posted November 19, 2012 Author Posted November 19, 2012 Absolutely beautiful, Tom. The six makes it so much more unique, as well as the color and trim. Is that rack a kit part or did you make or scavenge that from somewhere else? Charlie Larkin The luggage rack came from the parts box... believe it was a corvette piece... looks just like the ones ford installed on thiers according to most pics i have seen of them and the ford brosure...
tomsheehy Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Tom, fantastic job. I've been meaning to build this exact car for some time. My Dad had one, almost exactly like this with the six...same color but black interior. Great job...thanks for sharing and passing on your tips! Tom Sheehy
PistonDog Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 This is really beautiful. You put a lot of work into this build. Great detail, love the engine bay and trunk!!!!
