cruz Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Simple kit, painted w/ Go Mango from Testor's, no clear. Very old mold, actually had to rescribe a lot of the moulding detail around the windows in order to BMF a little easier once the paint is in place. Bumpers were Alcladed and wheels were reworked so that they would not stick out so much. Fun build though!! Kennyboy Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Nice clean example of an early (often forgotten) sport compact! Great job!
cruz Posted September 18, 2013 Author Posted September 18, 2013 Saw your review of kit in the current issue of SA and wondered about the plug wires ... aren't review kits supposed to be built box-stock? Looks good, though! Hey, stop thinking out loud......
PappyD340 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Very NICE build Cruz, does it have a V8?
sjordan2 Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Nice work! Love the orange, GO VOLS!!Ditto from a Knoxville guy. Many years ago, I thought this would be cool to find as a 1:1, but would need larger wheels. I must say that this is a terrific build, but I don't think it looks right with the larger wheels in the build.
bbowser Posted September 18, 2013 Posted September 18, 2013 Great model! I always thought these looked like 'mini' Corvettes, neat little cars.
realgone58 Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Very nice! Love the tires/wheels and the color looks great on this.
slusher Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Beautiful model Marcos, l remember riding home when my brother bought one in 1970. almost the same color...
Joker Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Clean build Marcos.. Saw the review on SAE..lots of build tips too. Most of all, your panel/seam work just pops. Thanks for posting.
Tom Geiger Posted September 19, 2013 Posted September 19, 2013 Very nice work on the Opel GT! One of my favorite cars, they were new when I lived in Germany. I was getting gas the other day and a brown one pulled into the station. You forget just how small these cars are until you see one up close again.
