  1. How about the '53 Victoria chassis? May be worth a look.
  2. Steve! I need 2 antennas for the back of my Impala! And I want them to look just like yours! What do I need to do to throw a couple of them together? Is it tubing and wire? (Or is it a secret? ?)
  3. The headlights? Not sure. I'd like to drop some lenses on top, too. I'll have to wait for the voices on that. ?
  4. Easily done on this one, Jeremy. Probably the only thing I like about curb-sides kits.
  5. The mock-up. not sure I'm going to leave the headlight doors black. Maybe do 'em purple. Maybe I can do the rub-out next week if it passes the smell test. Gotta take advantage of this great weather and paint a few more that have been waiting months. Thanks for looking!
  6. Ok....got a mock-up for ya. Next I will smooth it out and try to determine if I need clear. If I suspect I don't have enough paint on this thing I will get a few coats of clear on it and try again. I dread sanding through but I want this one slick.
  7. The grille looks great, Steve. I always liked the LTD grille, a big upgrade over the standard Galaxy smile.
  8. The coupe looks great, James. I would loose the hood or just the side's since you are aflame now and you will show off that nice engine. Also, I was wondering about using Tamiya clear over Testor's enamel. It's a combination I have been apprehensive about. ? apparently you've had no problems?
  9. Thanks, guys, it's been worth the wait for me. I'm trying to take advantage of this perfect weather here. My paint jobs are usually better with my airbrush but not necessarily. This looks like a win but, until the post-paint work is done, I'm not jumping for joy just yet. I'm still unsure about clear coating. These Testor's paints polish up pretty well if given a good 2 weeks to harden. If polished too soon, the results are less than stellar. I'm not a very patient person. Therein lies the rub-out (pretty funny, huh?) I'll do some quick mock-up with both of them as soon as there's no fingerprint danger, maybe later today. Thanks for your input!
  10. I'm echoing Steve on the wheels and the color, Frank. What paint did you use? Why the resin body?
  11. I was thinking the same thing. I built them when I was 11. Am I that much of a scale snob? Brings back some memories.....?
  12. It's unanimous! Where is she......? Thanks,Steve.
  13. But.....I think I did pretty well yesterday airbrushing two bodies despite my low grade equipment. I really need to up-grade my airbrush setup. My Christmas present this year maybe ?. My rattle can experiences lately have been iffy also but everything needs to change. I think I need to explore acrylics more and some of us here are having success with "craft" paint. I have, in stock, some MCW paint I'm afraid to use over Tamiya fine surface primer because I read it's pretty hot and that great primer is pretty thin. It's a very confusing subject ?. I think I need to establish a system that works for me and hope I can keep getting the paint I want without it becoming obsolete. I'm stuck between what I know and what I don't. This used to be simple.
  14. I'm going to show this to Wifey. Thanks, Jim. Heh heh heh.....
  15. Oh....you forgot about me, dintcha? Well I'm back. I never know what color I'm going to paint a project until the weather (and the voices?) tell me it's time to paint. Then, I can't remember what color I decided on for whichever car body is getting painted, so I go to the paint drawer and see what's in there and today I found two 1/4oz bottles Testor's purple metallic and a bottle of Boyd's Colors orange pearl. And the rest in in the pictures below. ? Thanks for lying about remembering. ? OK, it's a little syrupy but after it's all together....
  16. Today was a good day. Mid 70s, 50% RH, full sun and a trace of a breeze. Got more paint done. This one finally got some color. It's Boyd's orange pearl on top of Tamiya fine surface gray. Wifey didn't like it. I like it. That's what counts. She wasn't crazy about the purple one either. ? no vision.
  17. ....like a new V8 coupe moving down the assembly line.....nice finish, TJ!
  18. Testor's grape metallic? Can't wait to see it in foil! I get my coffee pods at Ollie's and every time I go there's more kits and I can't help myself and I'm running out of storage space.....you probably have a similar experience, no doubt. ?
  19. This is a pair of the most non-boring tri-fives I have ever seen. "Bad Girl" ? I love it ?. Jim, you have raised the bar for the entire hobby. Thanks a lot ?.
  20. Oh heck, I was just playin', Steve ? .
  21. That looks super, JR, and nice work on the tail lights. Maybe I'll revisit the "Rat Fink" for some upgraded lighting. ?.
  22. This shows the "infrastructure" that supports the interior panels and, at this point, the windshield has been installed. I chose yellow for the rest of the glass. now the "upholstery" .... I gotta do something with the tailgate now. Thanks for being amazed. ?
  23. JR, I can't remember what possessed me the day I installed those tail lights but they look quite goofy. ONE SHOT! Professional sign paint. Very good! How are you thinning it? Yes, the pinstriper has a skill that is to be admired but I think many of us could develop it, given the desire to do so. But not at 1:25th scale ?
  24. Oooo yeah.....those two are awesome, the two-tone is eye candy. What paint is the aqua ? .....yellow? Always good. We are trained to pay attention to yellow. BTW, those tail lights on my Willie were kit parts. They look pretty stupid. AMT.....what was I thinking?
  25. Steve, I'm starting to think that the razor saw is a product of alien technology. It calls to me telepathically and then its two hours later and there's no memory of what I've done. Does this sound familiar? ? . Do you have a top boot? What about the back seat/interior panel situation? (Deciding to remove the top is a false memory that they planted in your mind).....uh....if you aren't going to use that roof.....
