  1. Absolutely correct, I also learned this the hard way.
  2. Don't give up. Here is a couple of tips that will help. Get aTamiya Spraywork Paint Stand to hold the body when painting. I have broken so many thin body areas I now re-enforce them before any other work. I have the 934 kit and I know I will break that area. I will cut a piece of .005' brass to the exact shape needed and and then securely super glue the brass to a piece of .005" evergreen plastic sheet. Then trim to shape and glue the combined piece to the model with liquid model glue, this give you time to perfect the position versus just super gluing the brass to the model. This will result in a slightly thicker model but filing the edge back at angle will make it look thinner and you will have much stronger model.
  3. And the price is much less.
  4. Paasche has discontinued the AB Turbo and it was intended to be used with inks not paint. The Talon with the smallest tip(.25 mm) will paint very fine lines. You can get the set with all three tips and needles in a very nice wooden case. The Talon is a far better airbrush than the H. The preset handles allows you to use the airbrush like a single action a/b for consistent lines. http://www.amazon.com/Paasche-Airbrush-Talon-Gravity-Deluxe/dp/B00JUPUIR6/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1401077643&sr=8-13&keywords=paasche+talon+set Also for nothing but thin lines you could think about the Badger Krome, sold at AC Moore which has 40% off every week coupons and 50% off on occasion.
  5. if you are filling holes it is better to use plastic rod(Evergreen) glued with liquid glue. If done correctly no putty would be needed. I always try to fill with plastic first then putty as necessary.
  6. ammonia will not hurt the decals, just be careful when wiping tht yoou do not lift and tear one.
  7. testor's Metalizer sealer, Semigloss clear or Tamiya TS-79 Semi gloss clear. Better to airbrush if possible. The weathering sets are acrylic based. They do not really need sealed.
  8. Less messy, any gravity feed with a proper cap. the Paasche H is okay for painting bodies but it wll never spray Alclad pains or paint smaller parts better than a good internal mix dual action airbrush. A good finer spraying brush is better for using tire stencils ,tinting taillights and touching up small areas in interiors and seats etc. If you ever try a Iwata Eclipse or Revolution( I have both) you will never think the H is all that anymore. For bottle/siphon feed I really like the Paasche Millenium set that comes in a beautiful wooden case. If you have the money I think it is too have both a siphon feed and a gravity feed. I also have the Paasche Talon and it is a wonderful airbrush. You can spray from a can into the large cup when you just need to touch up something. make sure you get a good name brand airbrush, they will be more reliable and easier to find parts for.
  9. I do you use Future over lacquers all the time but I have seen it crack way too many times over water based acrylics like Tamiya jar paints and i would not use it over them.Laquers will most likely attck them. It seems allot get good results with Urethane clears over them though I have not tried them myself.
  10. I have been making these for years by buying the clips from Radio Shack, I did know you could by them already made http://www.amazon.com/Bluecell-Alligator-Stick-Airbrush-Hobby/dp/B007ZYX1GO/ref=pd_ys_sf_s_165793011_a2_5_p?ie=UTF8&refRID=15QREEFJ29J8TZXTA1K2. They are great for holding parts when air brushing.
  11. Never forget. Here is nice video Mclaren did in tribute. http://www.complex.com/rides/2014/05/mclaren-tribute-ayrton-senna
  12. I just bought a Iwata Revolution CR and I love it. It is a double action. Read the reviews on Amazon. The single action is the Revolution SAR but it is siphon(jar) feed. Don't be afraid of the double action it's not that hard to learn and in the long run it is much more versatile. You also might look at this http://www.chicagoairbrushsupply.com/iwrem2grfeai.html
  13. How about these http://www.viralnova.com/takes-pictures-of-model-town/
  14. most waxes seems to rub Future off except ZYMOL. It deepens and enhances the shine. The coconut oil smells good too.
  15. Checkout this presentation video about the new car. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO3gC0_QrhE
  16. Check out this link for MSHobbies, he always has the latest F1 kits and decals for good prices and great service. http://www.mshobbies.com/
  17. i ahve an Eclipse CS like yours. It sounds like the paint is drying too fast. Add more thinner and reduce the pressure. the CS has .35mm tip that can be harder do a body or larger pieces. Which why I go iwata revolution with a.5mm tip for bigger jobs. They are both great airbrushes but each has it uses.
  18. Most likely it is a humidity problem.
  19. Actually this came in the mail yesterday. it the Paasche Millennium set with all three tip and needle sizes. I got this for bigger jobs than my Iwatas can do. The wood case is very nice and even has a felt bottom. This airbrush is an updated version of the VL. I like the skinner body on this one. Price was $86 and free shipping on that rain forest site.
  20. Nothing looks better than proper masking with a good tape like Tamiya's and airbrushing the trim.
  21. I just bought a Iwata Revlution and I absolutely love it. The cheaper Chinese copies will not hold up and have allot more seals to go bad. I would stick with name brands like Iwata. Paasche, Badger etc, I also own a Paasche Talon and Iwata Eclipse and they are all really great airbrushes. I know allot will recommend a Paasche H but they do not atomize or spray as nice as better internal mix airbrushes.
  22. I second ammonia. It will remove waxes and polishes without touching the paint.
  23. This came in the mail today. It's an Iwata Revolution CR. It has a bigger tip(.5mm) than the Eclipse for thicker paints although I did still get it to spray a pencil line thickness. It is the same great quality as the Eclipse for less money. IMO one can never have enough airbrushes. I know cleaning is hassle with some but it is a joy to paint with a good airbrush.
  24. Thanks to all. I am working on this now
  25. check all the o-rings and seals for pinching or distortion. Chinese knock offs use allot of extra seals due to poor machining tolerances.
