  1. Yes the finish is finer, however it does not seem to improve the shine. I would jus get the fine. It is about the best polish to use on their paints. Decals will stick ok but if you ever have decals that will not stick try some Future under them, using a q-tip to apply it.
  2. This one has a wing and some interesting art.
  3. This an old Gunze kit. It has no engine but the interior is pretty detailed and it's a cool car from great era. Paint is Duplicolor Cardinal Red and Black. The chassis painted black now as a a base for some great silver paint I got at Micheals called Design Master Super Silver. It look likes a really nice Satin Chrome and is very durable.
  4. Here is two I built with wings.
  5. Great job!!! I hope you saw what happen to Hamilton at Spa this year then you will get this pic.
  6. It is pretty shiny but if you wan it to look deeper and shine more try ZYMOL brand wax applied over it. Other waxes tend to remove the Future as it is polished. Most grocery stores Future. It may be labelled as as Pledge with a Future shine. This Bentley has Future wiped on an then waxed for it's shine.
  7. Nice job. If you want to keep it clean line it with freezer paper and change the paper when it gets built up.
  8. I have had it only a couple of days and love it already. I also have the TRN-1 gravity feed. They are both fantastic airbrushes.
  9. I got this in the mail. It's the NEO for Iwata Trn-2 side feed airbrush. It sprays beautifully. If you have never tried a trigger style you should. They feel better and are easier to control than a stsndard dual action. They probably would be better for newbies. It was around $100 with free priority mail or UPS at chicagoairbrushsupply.com. They have great and quick service. It does hav an adapter to use standard jars(Badger/Paasche).
  10. I agree with Monty there is more to airbrushing than the Paasche H model. There are allot of good video reviews on airbrushes and compressors on youtube. Don Wheelers site(see link at Monty's post)is an excellent resource on this subject. If you want to do weathering etc. you will want a finer spraying airbrush.
  11. If someone was to actually build things I am sure some of them could be done in scale.
  12. Speaking of Cartograf, who ever though Italians would make the best decals but they do. They do make them for allot of companies. Two things that help with bad decals are 1; to get them to conform try a hot damp cloth pressed over them instead of solvents. 2: for decals that do not stick try putting Futer under them.
  13. If you use a sharpie you do not need to mask. Wherever you go over the edge can be scraped off with a toothpick and will not scratch the glass. If you need to clean up allot alcohol remove the ink without hurting the window glass.
  14. KRYLON Gloss White(old formula lacquer). Future, ZYMOL brand wax. Must be the coconut oil in the ZYMOL.
  15. Lacquers will dissolve or eat the Acrylics. Testor's Dullcote, Semigloss Clear and the original Gloscote are safe to use over the Acrylics. Enamel clears would be OK but most tend to yellow. Future has a tendency to crack over the Acrylics. These problems are worse when using a rattle can because of the wetness of the coat. Using an airbrush might let you get away with things that do not normally work.
  16. Here is a link http://schwinncruisers.com/bikes/krates/#1969-krate to some of the history with ads and prices, Now I know why someone ask my dad 20 yrs later if we still had the bikes. to bad we didn't
  17. I had an Orange Krate. My sister had the Lemon Peeler, and my brother had the Pea Picker. They were awesome bikes. I think they were right around $100 new in 1969 when we got them.
  18. My nice Mail Woman dropped this off today, it's the new NEO for Iwata TRN-1 Trigger Gravity Feed Airbrush. It feels very nice in the hand compared to the regular button type airbrush. the other pic is my testing on some cardboard. It's very well made and is backed by Iwata's 5 yr warranty.
  19. I did not start this thread to say anybody was the best or this was the best performance. I just wanted to share what I thought was a great singular performance.
  20. You did not say how long the pearl had dried before the clear was put on. Most likely the clear was so wet and heavy it dissolved and re-floated the pearl pigments. I have had that problem when clear coating silver, especially with Tamiya's TS-13. Also an airbrush would probably do a better job when using pearl paints.
  21. Try DYMO brand plastic tape for the old style embossing label maker. It's adhesive backed and is thick enough to make a guide for knife or saw.
  22. Try lowering the pressure to about 25 psi and thin the paint some more.. The higher pressure makes the paint go on dryer. I have the same airbrush. For bigger parts the like body and chassis the standard .35mm setup can be harder to get a good wet coat. The parts are available to change to a .50mm setup which gives more paint flow. It's great airbrush, enjoy it. I love mine.
  23. I am sure that a certain Mr. Clarkson has one of these Jags on order. Retro or continuing who cares? It's gorgeous, that trio of retro looks ugly in comparison
  24. I grew up listening to this guy and totally forgot about this song from 1978 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lROruo8G7Yo
