  1. Peugeot's king of the hill(pikes peak) contender for 2013 driven by 9 time WRC rally champ Sebastian Loeb. http://motorsportmodeller.blogspot.com.au/2013/05/race-to-clouds.html
  2. Instead of using solvents for the decals. Try pressing a steaming hot damp(not wet)cloth over the decals. They will set and conform instantly. Use a hot damp Q-tip for small areas. Start by usng a seft brush brushed over the decals to smooth them and get the bubbles out then hit them with the cloth. I could not have done this car without this method. The car is painted white and th rest is decals.
  3. Pat why don't you just leave this thris alone and respect the people who do care. And just because you didn't know anything about him doesn't mean he was not famous. If Bobbit is on your list you spend too much time reading tabloid trash. By the way your comments are not funny and you are not the expert on everything. I think this board would be a nicer place without your presence.
  4. I would mask and airbrush the area with Tamiya acrylic Flat Black. Then when dry carefully scrape off the top of letters with a toothpick.
  5. I did have a problem with gray plastic. Revell of Germany Mercedes DTM car had the main body in grey and the running bord/lower sills molded in white. When they were primed using Plastikote T235 sandable white primer there was a noticeable difference in the parts. I sprayed some BIN sealer and more primer to correct and it came out perfectly matched. BIN sealer is excellent for this but it is better airbrushed because the cans spray terribly.
  6. Thanks Rob, it was posted to remember a great driver and great human being. One million people cared and attended his funeral.
  7. This comment is uneccesary and frankly offensive to those who do care.
  8. A video to remind how good he was http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh6bwZ4ooTI
  9. Try a steaming hot damp cloth pressed over the decal or a hairdryer on low. A hot damp Q-Tip is good for smalla reas such as NACA duct on a race car. And if you have problems with decals not sticking Future makes a great decal glue. All of th red on the car below is decal done this way.
  10. Just got this one in the mail today.
  11. This guy's prices are a joke. That is the etch parts that come with the latest release of that kit and can be gotten at Tamiya america for about 10-15 dollars. I got the one for the 935 for $10.
  12. Go to your nearest Harley Davidson Dealer and by a tube of Simichrome Polish made in Germany. Good for paints too.
  13. Duplicolor Automotive touch up paints.
  14. Only the name was changed tp rotect the innocent. If you hav an airbrush and want to use a good water based clear try Alclad's Aqeous Clear Coat.
  15. Simply the best liquid glue around. Tamiya's thin glue is also very good and give you more time to align stuff because it drys a little slower.
  16. they are telling you to mix the two colors at the percentages shown. This would propably give you something like a gunmetal color.

    Green Machine

Lemans Miniatures 2002 Bentley. WIP is here http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=73111&hl=bentley
  18. Try 91% alcohol nex time. i have learned a basic rule of stripping paint safely, if it's lacquer use 91% alcohol. If it's enamel use Easy Off(yellow can) or Purple Power. HOK is lacquer. I also use Easy off to strip chrome, it takes about 10 minutes.
  19. Try ZYMOL brand wax. All other waxes I tried over Future tends to remove it. ZYMOL enhances the shine and it smells good because it has coconut oil in it. There is no need to sand or polish the Future.
  20. I like it, nice job. It is without a doubt a 962. RoG screwed up on the title. The 962 was made to replace the 956 because the rule makers decided the driver's feet had to be equal to or behind the front axle line. The 962 has a wider panel just in front of the door becaused it was lengthened here. . This is probaly an 88-90 962 because the rules changed in 88 to make the venturi tunnels lower than the rear axles to reduce ground effect. The first 962 was raced at the 1984 24hrs of Daytona by Mario Andretti.
  21. Thanks for the compliments.
  22. This is for those in the USA. Take a look at Duplicolor Sonic Blue Pearl, it's available at Pep Boys and Advance Auto. You get allot more and I have not seen the Tamiya stuff yet. Duplicolors paints do not rub through so fast like Tamiya. I think the color looks like a good match.
  23. Decals are done on this Lemans Miniatures 1/24 scale kit. I wil post some interior shots soon. Paint is Duplicolor Ford Dark Jade with TS-13 clear. There is still a few touchups needed. The areas below the side silver stripes are TS-14 Black which is correct for this car. Some more pics before it's all together. The lump of resin for the elctronics boxes were removed and all are scratchbuilt. All the carbon-fiber decals lines run in the direction depicted according to all reference material.
