I think the VL is a ver nice airbrush but I did not like the limited trigger travel which I beleive Paasche adressed with the VLST-PRO which has a much wider range like Badger's Crescendo which I still have. The Crescendo is a good all around workhorse.

Price, larger cup, availability of parts and the price of those parts vs the price of parts for my Iawata. And it looks great. It had good reviews and I wanted to buy something American made. I am more than happy with the choice I made. I wanted the preset handle also. I have had 3 other Paasches, the H,VL and VLST-PRO. This is the best airbrush Paasche makes. It also does not have the stuck needle problems I had with the other Paasches I have had.

I just got the Paasche Talon TG-3F set which is the airbrush with all three tips and needle sizes and an adjustuble fan spray tip. This airbrush is a beauty to look at and use and the handle has a pre-set to set how far you can pull back when you want a constant pattern. it also has a bigger cup than most gravity feed types. I have an Iawata Eclipse but it may not get used as much now. For any one thinking about getting a dual action airbrush take a good look at this one. Below is pic of the airbrush.

Got a deleivery from AMAZON. Something to fit my paasche air hose that went with a couple of Paasche airbrushes I sold last year( VL and H). It's the Paasche Talon. It will also be a backup to my Iawata. It has three heads and an adjustable fan spray head for the largest tip. It also has a needle pre-set in the handle. It may not be the best airbrush made but it sure is one of the best looking. I just wish I had something ready to paint.

Of course you don't you are a NASCAR fan not a sportscar fan.
-
With NASCAR in control what we will get is what they already give us, slow and boring racecars. The LMP1 class will be gone.
-
Of the American Lemans series. Does NASCAR have to own and destroy everything that goes before it. They have already forced SPEED to stop carrying the races. http://www.motorspor...dnesday-425708/

This is an excellent BBC documentary which originally aired on the Velocity channel. The entire show(59 min.) is at this link http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/grand-prix-the-killer-years-video-documentary/ It covers the dangerous period in F1 of the 60's and early 70's

Wats with the Google advertisements?
935k3 replied to george 53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No ads on the latest version of Firefox. Friends don't let friends use Internet Explorer. I stopped using IE 8yrs ago and have allot less software issues and pop ups disappeared as soon as I switched. -
Try this from Tamiya, it comes off withh ammonia if you mess. It's applied with an applicator like the one in makeup. Here is an example I did with it

Let's talk PAINT and PRIMER
935k3 replied to FatManScaleDesigns's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
What colors did you get? If it's the old formula I would buy every can you have. You can tell by the recoat instructions, if it says recoat anytime it's the old acrylic laquer. If it says recoat within an hour or wait a week it's the new garbage. Also the new stuff has a conehead shaped cap. The white if used properly is the best white I have ever used. You have to use a good primer properly sanded then put a few coats on, then after a couple days sand it all down again to get rid of orange peel then lay lay a few more coats down. Let dry for a copule days then polish. The first couple coats seal the primer which is porous. -
The latest video in car control from Mister Ken Block, this time it's in the city of San Fransisco. Gymkhana 5.

Your favourite Box art

Here are two of my favorites; -
Watch the ride heght and note how the front left wheel is not centered in the wheel opening without some modification, I have seen allot these built without fixing those two things. The driver pairing decals are not right for Lemans and should be cut apart and grouped per the car number you do. It looks like this kit was based on the presentation version not the Lemans version. I had to make decals for the missing rear side marker lights and the exhaust shield should be a rectangle not teardrop shaped.

24 Hour Le Mans 16/17 June
935k3 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Don't forget to watch qualifying tomorrow and Thursday. on the net. TImes are 1-3 PM and 4-6 PM Eastern Standard Time in the USA both days. SPEED has a show on Friday night at 10:00 PM about the TS030 Toyota Hybrid and it's develepmont. I feel sorry for the racing fans that don't get this race or understand how important it is to the world's car makers. Sorry NASCAR fans but the DAYTONA 500 is not the greatest or most important race on the planet. -

best glue for gluing in windows?
935k3 replied to foxbat426's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I used to use Krystal Klear but I switched to Formula 560 Canopy Glue by Pacer. I will never use anything else. This stuff is as strong as epoxy and much safer to use. I use it for allot more than just windows. -
I think somewhere here Bob Downey did some comparisons. I used TS-14 gloss black under my first test. I probably will decant and airbrush it for even better results.
-
For anybody that like this stuff apparently they are back in business. I bought my first can today and I like it. It's seems to be allot more durable finish than Alclad.

Cool tip for anyone who wants to get a polishing kit.
935k3 replied to LDO's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
You can get away with only a few grits for paint but you really need all of them for restoring scratched or damaged windows. Some darker colors also have better results with all grits depending on the type of paint. I wouldn't be without any of them. Individual sheets can be ordered at your hobby shop or bought from Detail Master directly. -
They are all great models. I especially love the bug, I had one in high school which I promptly rolled in the school parking lot doing donuts. I have that kit and I am curious what paint did you use for the body it looks like a very accurate color.
-
This one came from from Amzon today. It's a very nice kit with chromed bumpers and wheels and full engine detail.

What? No April Fools Humor Today?
935k3 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I heard a good one on Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain on Speed. Track owner Bruton Smith has 8,000 acres of land near Las Vegas that he is going to make a copy of the Nurburgring Nordschleife Circuit AKA "The Green Hell"(14.1 miles long w/mountains). An that was after Dave said his show would be joke free. -
Use the best white glue, available at most hobby shops.
