Radio Shack sells very small copper alligator clips that have no teeth and are just flat. I mount them on the end of bamboo skewers. -

This one is finished. Hasegawa's ESSO Lancia Delta.
-
Yes. It and Future are the most neutral non-reactive clear coats there are.

The S4 was a totally different beast than the one I am building. It was buit to Group B specs and was an all out mid- engine prototype. Check out som group B rallys on you tube. It was wild time in rallying.

Some pics of my WIP of a 1993 Lancia Delta Rally car by Hasegawa. I got new decals by SHUNKO because the kit decals have yellowed. The slight offset of the ESSO decals on the roof is accurate per the real car. Paint is Krylon black(Lacquer) and Tamiya TS21 gold with Testor's wet Look clear. Some striping was done with decals painted. Thre is a wing(not decalled yet)that goes on the back of the roof. Also need cleanup and touch up.

Future and Alclad's Aqueous Clear are the best to use. Both are very inert and do not react with the paint. Future can be put on to protect the part while handling then removed with ammonia after installation. Ammonia will not hurt the paint.

Painting graphics over metalizer?
935k3 replied to BKcustoms's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Try wiping a thin coat of future over the area you want to mask. After masking and painting you can wipe the Future off with ammonia or Windex. It will come off and not affect the underlying paint. -
LOOKING FOR GOOD AIR BRUSH ,DOUBLE ACTION,

I agree with this. Badger has a lifetime warranty and will replace the Teflon needle bearing if you send it back to them. I have been able to find and replace the seals myself. You just have to claean and take care when handling the airbrushes and they will give years of good service without needing replacement parts. Just stick with a good well known name brand product. The Chinese knock offs use allot of extra seals due to poor machining. The seals are usually rubber and do not hold up. For model builders Iwata, Badger and Paasche are the best brands to stick with. Thanks to Hobby Lobby and the 40% off coupon it makes getting an Iwata a viable option. -
What do you use to mount headlight lenses and glass?

Formula 560 Canopy Glue by Pacer is the best and strongest. I tried the watch crystal glue and found it attacked the plastic. Canopy glue cleans off with a damp Q-tip or can be pealed off when dry. It was made for clear parts and drys crystal clear. -

Food Dehydrators & Paint Dryers

I will second that! -
I think I found the answer to the printing probelm. From there site: ". This media is not recommended for use with Epson based Claria or Durabrite inks without Papilio's Inkfreeze Pigment Drying Agent. This fine powder absorbs excess ink and allows it dry properly. Pigment inks from other hardware manufacturers, such as HP Vivera, or Canon may need additional drying time for ink to fully cure." I have an EPSON printer so I justordered theInkfreeze pigment drying agent. Also if you use note it has a protective film over it that should be removed before use.

I just got some recently. I love it but I have had trouble getting it to print on properly. does have any tips on printing on this stuff? The white is the most opaque decal I have seen. I got three sheets of clear and two of white for about $10 with shipping.

Nice model but be warned Future over Tamiya Acrylics has a tendency to crack badly. I would never trust it again. Sometimes it takes a very long time before it happens.

I tuses a Dayton style blower(motor outside airstream) I use 2" X 20" furnace filters(green ones) from Walmart, less than $3 for a 4 pk. I use white freezer paper top line it. -
Applying decals on rims
935k3 replied to wheelingmountaineer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Try putting Future under any decal that will not stick, it glues them down well when dry. Clean any excess of with ammonia. You can apply the Future with a Q-tip -

Try spraying some primer in the can lid and let it sit and thicken a little then put the thickened primer in the holes. Beautiful job so far.
