thnx and i found your blitz on your website , looks the same as my sivil version i understand you used the firetruck kit as base atm i'm in doubt i looked at some awsome c.o.e hauler pics and they all have small size wheels on a big cab and chassis , tried that on my blitz and i must say it looked great .. the flipside is i will loose the vintage looks and its more a custom truck then , and since i'm going for the dry lake racer / hauler theme i think i need to stick with the big wheels

decided to make the main body a one piece and remove the doorlines , hinges and handles .. first flattened everything rough after bondo , sanding here is the wet primer , its now semi dry and i still have some minour work left really not sure on the color , wanted to do it black so i could do some visible salt on the body.. now i'm not sure , i would even like the idea of doing the so cal color sceme .. opinions on colors are more then welcome fitted the rims with the base chrome coat put the headlights on the cab started rough work on the bed floor ....

whow that one awsome result , really looks realistic !! atm the wheels give it away -
while the body drys and i think about cleaning the doors yes or no , i did some work on the truck sanded away the wheel bolts and flattened the center hub . then glued some wheel caps on the center flattened it a bit and made center holes overal idea made the edges run over into the rim and made it one piece and sprayed it chrome , will give it a noce wash later on for depth

well to be hounest i cant tell you because i dont know , i'm not really an expert on all the details like that .... i just love everything hotrod , dry lake racers , custom but since here in holland you dont have a lot of that ... i just try to build stuff that looks good to me personally .. also i have to be hounest i have not been building for years and years , and still learning new stuff i'm now at the point i really want to pay more attention to details and make stuff look more functional .. inspired by some awsome builds here thnx and yes when i saw the kit i was like thats perfect , most of these kits are militairy versions and this is one of the few civil kits .. its a german truck from origine but the shape is just soo cool and about the suspension i didnt know that .. i really have to take some time and look on the net and read up on some of that stuff .. i read somewhere about ridgid suspension and found this pic and asumed it was ridged ... always nice to learn new stuff

found some plastic window things , dont know how you guys call them we call them lamellen , they are like curtains on a rails and you can close them or open them (hang in a row) perfect for making model stuff with , cheaper then styreen since they where trown away i also have smooth ones ... cant really see it now with this light but i can use it as a floor and those recesses looks great .. will be the top layer of a thicker floor also very nice stuff for my diorama !! then started to make struts to the shocks .. i know shocks and springs are usually not sitting straight like this , i wanted to use a bar and make the suspension ridgid .. but i thought springs would add some detail .. i had no real room to let them go sideways so i kind of made up this ... something difefrent i guess first wanted to do a ridged version like that but changed to springs when i was almost done after a lot of trial and error i finally found a noce base shape for a grille .. used the inner grille part of a 53 ford pick up needs wat more work and shaping and making it flow with the body

connected the hubs today , and used a spring from a pen to make springs again i'm building this dry lake racer to put on the back of the truck but its starting to become a build on its own .. also this is just build with left overers out of the partsboxes so i have to be a bit creative the underside will be all smooth for streamline , just a start , will make a reces for the engine / carter

i love it that rusted paint looks great i think the chrome would have been nicer without the rust and maybe with just a wash of dark on it for depth but seriously cool -
i love it awsome build
