  1. Yes it is. And yes he is.
  2. Very nice model you built. I don't understand why the Japanese will not tool up a LHD dash, steering, and pedals for kits of cars once sold in the U.S.? I believe they would sell more of these models to guys like me, if they did. Now do go ahead and buy it this time or not? Or do I wait hoping, for a LHD version of this kit? Or buy, wait for someone to do a resin conversion, and never really build the car?
  3. No offense to others here. But, Mr. Boyd's reputation with me at least, is such, that I'm willing to go with it. And eat a little crow on this one. Spending money retooling a kit to save money doesn't make much sense to me. But then again, I have no real knowledge of how to successfully to run a business. This is why I work mainly in the public sector. And am a peon in my part time private sector job.
  4. Looks like some cool stuff coming. I want Revell's Porsche 356 snap kit. And the Toyota 2000GT with 60's girl figure. I'm hoping. But not holding my breath. That the 2000GT will have the option of placing the steering wheel on the left.
  5. Chevy Corvette. Ford GT. I love them both. One can beat the other? I don't care. I'd love to have either one in my garage.
  6. Kool! I like it. I would have gone nuts for something like that in my early teens, before I got my first driver's license. Heck, it would still be fun to have.
  7. Waltrip at Bathurst is pretty good. Is that a Holden he's riding in? And I do like the modern version of the Cobra coupe above. A very nice looking car.
  8. Didn't some late, '26 and '27 Ts have gas tanks in the cowl? Like an "A" they weren't very big. From what I remember, I believe the Model As tank held at best about 10 gallons. I don't know if any of this applies to the Lindberg '29 T or not? I've never owned one.
  9. With all of the great reissues Round 2 has brought back over the years, I'm wondering where this one is at? I think this kit was out only the one time. I wonder if there is some problem since it was tooled up when Lesney was in control of AMT? Or licensing issues with Subaru? Or what? I'd love to see this one come back.
  10. Nope. In my world, I like things to look new and clean.
  11. Tell us more about the Dune Buggy GT kit. What kit is it? Who makes/made it? What scale? And any photos?
  12. I'm not buying it 100%. Especially since a lot of parts like the red taillights have reappeared. I also can not see spending money to modify a tool to the degree your talking about if your doing it for cost cutting measures. I'm willing to bet some modifications came because the Corvair Funny Car kit used the same body. I'm guessing that's maybe more the case on lost body parts. Side windows, extra lights, etc. But the engine and chassis parts look basically the same to me. I'd need to see the clear tree from the '65 Corsa kit, vs the latest reissue to buy the retooling of the fan shroud story. I maybe wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. But, I need better proof.
  13. What proof do you have? And why would they do that?
  14. The clear cooling shroud has always been part of the '65 - '69 AMT Corvair kits. See the instructions from the '65 Corsa kit below. The earlier AMT Corvairs, '60 - '64, I believe were all curbside. So no engine or cooling shroud.
  15. I knew I shouldn't have opened up and looked at this one, with a name like "Twisty the Clown."
  16. Very nice. I too like the color combo.
  17. It looks terrible. Which in this case good. I like it.
  18. Interesting. I've had no troubles with the several I've built.
  19. Great suggestions. I would have never thought about the tape. I'm going to give that one a try first.
  20. Does anybody have any idea how to remove decals, if soaking them in warm water does nothing to them? Will something like rubbing alcohol, or something else help?
