  1. Decent review. Thank you. Scott
  2. Try Bondic UV light setting glue. I've found it works perfect for mounting glass. Scott
  3. Many of us in the MCCM seem very happy so far with these. I haven't heard any complaints yet. Other than one member has said he needs to get the 2mm pen. For the 1mm isn't big enough for some jobs. I have both the 1 and the 2mm. I'm waiting for a 4. So far, I've been using the 2mm far more that the 1mm. Scott
  4. I've just been throwing them away in the regular litter basket for well over 40 years now. I've never heard of any problems in that whole time. Scott
  5. I just finished the '52 Chevy fastback recently. (I will be posting pictures in another thread soon.) and I've picked up two more of these kits. The '32 Lincoln KB Sport Phaeton and the '49 Ford Tudor. I've also got to say that these kits are much nicer than I remember them to be. I'm sure I'll be buying many more 1/32 scale Pyro/Lindberg kits in the future. I like them. A lot! Scott
  6. Wow! Very nice job Richard. Contrary to rumors, as we can see be your build, those old Pyro kits are not bad kits at all. Scott
  7. I've just recently rediscovered the joys of these old Pyro, now Lindberg kits. Your examples above, FactoryStock54, prove that these kits build out quite nice. With not as much love and care as would expected. Scott
  8. They were very similar to the Dennis Doty's books. But, Doty's books came out in 1989. And the books I'm looking for were for sure in our junior high library in the early 1970's. Scott
  9. Great! It works. I can start posting photos here again. Test #2 http://
  10. Test photo to see if this works. http://
  11. Fun to see. I always liked these kits. I wish we could see more. Scott
  12. Very nice. A Revell kit? Or someone else? Scott
  13. There are several good books on our hobby out there. But, there are two I'm curious about, and I've been hunting for for a while now. I have no idea of the exact names of the books or who the author was. The books I'm looking for were actually a two volume set that I believe was published sometime in the early 1970's. My junior high school had a set at the time. I remember them both having white covers with photographs on them. Volume one was aimed at the basics of building model cars. Volume two more advanced techniques. And, I believe the author was fairly well known in the hobby at the time. And may still be. Anybody out there have any idea what set of books I'm looking for? So I can do a better search in my hunt. Scott
  14. "Olds Buick, same thing." ?? The Buick nailheads are a totally different engines from the Olds OHV V-8s. What is the point of this thread? A lot of bad information is being passed on here. Things are getting a little confusing because of it. Let's stick to the facts. I'd love to see a thread (accurately) reviewing any one of the many '49 Mercury model kits out there. I have several, including AMT's and Revell's Custom and station wagon kits. Despite that, I still love see a review on any one of those three. Or better yet, a review comparing the the three. Hopefully with pictures. Scott
  15. I'm a little confused by this poll. I like several of the cars listed. And I do think there is a market for Trans-Am pony cars. But, I think there is also a market for any of the above cars in stock form too. I personally have no interest in Trans-Am racing cars. I'd like to see the above kits offered in a 2-in-1 type format. One where you can build a showroom stock version, and a Trans-Am racer. Back in the old days they offered us kits like that. Why can't they do the same thing today? Scott
  16. First time I've ever seen this one. Is it real? Or one of those phantom kit boxes people make up from time to time? Scott
  17. Nice. Some very cool cars. Scott
  18. After checking the link above, I now want the kit. Truck and buggy. Scott
  19. Didnt the above trailer come with just about every MPC Impala and Caprice kit, other than the convertibles, from '68 on? Scott
  20. I find them fun. The one that stands out to me, was the fake Jo-Han early 70's Olds Custom Cruiser station wagon. The "what if?" speculations can be fun. With photo shop it's amazing what one can design. It's just a shame they can't duplicate what's on the box. I would love to have a mid 60's Jeep Gladiator. A '55 Highway Patrol Buick. A '72 Olds Custom Cruiser. Etc down the line. Scott
  21. If they didn't. Which I doubt they did. It's a shame. I love those old Jeep Gladiators. And I'm old enough to remember Daktari too. And that's a clue to why this kit was never done. The Daktari TV show came out in the mid-60's. The box art above does not look like mid-60's Revell box art. It looks more like late-70's, early-80's Revell box art to me. At least a dozen years after Daktari. I think even Clarence could see that something is not right about the above kit. Scott
