  1. Ah! Okay. That looks exactly like the one I ordered this afternoon off of eBay. I should pay more attention. After I ordered mine, I spent a little bit of time surfing the web to see a picture of that exact kit built. I found nothing. Here it is all the time, posted by you, Snake. As soon as I seen the above photo again, I felt like a fool. A good photo is right here. And I've looked at it serveral times over the last week or so! Wow!
  2. Just curious Nie. Is that a picture of you in your icon box? I mean no offense by this question. For I don't know if Nie is a male or female name in your country? I'm not trying to hit you either. But, if it is you, your a very nice looking women. Me? I look exactly like the creature in my icon picture! It's amazing they let me come out of my house. ?
  3. Okay this message is mainly for Snake. Don't know why, but decided I needed a copy of Revell's SnapTite '63 Corvette convertible. I've built Revell's SnapTite '63 coupe in the past. I know how you love these kits. And so do I. But, for some reason I have not picked up the convertible version of this kit until now. I do have a prebuilt one that came in the set with a prebuilt coupe. Had to find a first issue of the convertible kit. Because it looks like the later issues do not come with the stock wheels anymore. I know coupe still does. But, from seeing the box art for the later convertible kits, I'm assuming the stock wheels are gone. Not a big fan of the saddle colored interior on the first release of the convertible. And this maybe the reason for passing it up it the past. But, I'll be building straight out of the box, saddle interior and all. Just adding chrome foil to the hood vents. Found the '63 on eBay. Where I find about half of the models I buy. And as noted, I also purchased a Monogram 1/24 scale '65 a couple of days back. I still waiting on that one. I've also decided it's time to build my Revell '67 Corvette coupe. I guess I've just got Sting Ray fever right now. Which I don't think is a bad thing to have!
  4. Shaking too hard and too long? Interesting. Tempted to experiment with an old can and see if I can replicate the results. I've always though I shook my cans fairly vigorously. And I'm pretty sure I've done it for several minutes at a time before. Now, I'm going to have to try it. I'm not totally convinced that's your problem? At the same time I'm not sure of how many times I've looked at the bottom my paint can when I'm done with them. Maybe this happened to me too? I just didn't notice.
  5. I think putting Curly on the truck, rather than Shemp, is more of a problem than calling the truck a Cameo. A year or so ago I bought a box set of all of the Three Stooges shorts. After going through them, I think Shemp doesn't get the respect he deserves. Curly is great. Don't get me wrong. But I think Shemp is every bit as good in a different sort of way. It's almost like comparing apples to oranges. And since Shemp's shorts were out in the theaters when the Chevy truck was built. It should be Shemp, not Curly on the truck.
  6. I know there was a model kit of Flipper at one time. Is that what this is about?
  7. Thanks for writing the above in script. It's almost impossible to read script on many tablets, like the iPad I use. Even blowing it up so I can read it. I didn't get your point.
  8. Okay. Both he, I, and others made mistakes. He for not knowing what he read was wrong. I for not noticing that the packaging claimed the model to be a Cameo rather than a step side. The others at Round 2 letting the box be labeled wrong. I'm not happy that Round 2 made this mistake. But, at the same time I don't see it as being an overly big thing. You know it's wrong. I know it's wrong. If it bothers me that much, I just won't buy the product. At the same time, I will not be buying the Stooge Cameo pickup truck because I don't collect 1/18 scale prebuilt models. I don't really have the space for them. The mistake on the packaging will have nothing to do with it.
  9. Interlock seat belts did make it into production. They were required on all new 1974 automobiles. The device created so many problems, the law was rescinded by the end of the model year. By the way. What is the ""bigger hammer" theory" you mentioned?
  10. The talk about potatos several posts above, reminds of a chain we use to have around here that I loved. One Potato, Two Potato. They just served baked potatos with diffent toppings. My favorite was their Swiss cheese with shrimp. Yum! But, the chain been gone from around here for many years now. I wonder what happen to them?
  11. 30 years? My dad used the above method to custom tint his real Mustang II windows in a year or two. Of course that method did damage his lungs and he died at the age of 73 because of that damage. So, I guess it's not technique I would recommend.
  12. I'm not a fan of bras on cars. And I will never use one on one of my models. But, still I'm courious about what the end results of this will be. I hope you keep us posted Mr. Forsythe (Joe?).
  13. Wow! I too in 50 years of model building have never seen a can of paint do what's being seen here. I just don't understand it. I'll be interested in finding out what you hear from the paint companies, Brian. It's a mystery to me. Interesting. But, a mystery.
  14. Brings back bad memories of that CB/Dico era for me. But, in general it looks like a fun kit. And I hope you post the build of it when your done.
  15. I don't know if this is legal or not. But, can one disconnect the system so it will not go off? Ever? Not only are air bags potentially dangerous. But, it's expensive to replace them even if they do go off safely. I haven't about any problems with my 2000 LeSabre's air bags yet. But I still don't trust them, like them, or feel that they are necessary with wearing a seat belt and shoulder harness. And how long are they guaranteed to work on old car down the road? I plan on keeping my 16 year old LeSabre for a few more years yet. It's a nice car. Still in pretty nice shape. But like any car, parts get old and need replacing. How does one know when their air bag system needs replacing? I believe there is a light on my dashboard that tells. But, I'm not 100% sure of that. And how tough is it repair or replace the system when it comes time to restore a car with air bags? This whole air bag thing just seems like a can of worms waiting for a problem. Like I say, wear your seat belt and shoulder harness properly, and you don't need air bags anyhow.
  16. By the way, there were 20 L88s built in the 1967 model year. From the research I've done so far, the air induction system was only on the L88 cars from the factory. Though as Snake said, there may have been some sold through the dealerships. Other than the L88s the other 427 stinger hoods were not functional. A few people in '67 tried ordering 327 cars with the stinger hood. Chevrolet always refused the orders. At the same time there are rumors that a few 327 cars were factory built with the 427 stinger hood.
  17. Thursday night went to a local pizza place (Broadway Pizza) with my neighbor. He had done some work for me on my house, so I owed him a dinner. We ordered a large meat pizza, cheese curds as an appetizer, and soft drinks. The bill came out to just under $42.00! I always try to tip well, and left an $8.00 tip. $50.00 for pizza! It was good pizza. But I was a little surprised by the bill. At the same time I didn't say anything in front of my neighbor about it. For what he did for me was well worth $50.00. Plus I got a nice meal and some very good conversation up of the deal too. It was a win, win overall. So I really should not complain.
  18. Cool car for his first model. Got to love them Ford GTs.
  19. Way to go Ray! Women love to dance. I'm no Fred Astaire. Not even close. But I've found most women don't really care. They're just happy to have someone to dance with. Heck, go just about any dance, women will dance with each other if they can't get a guy to join them. One of my few pieces of dating advice to the boys I work with in the schools. Go out and dance with the girls. Nobody will really cares if your not a good dancer. And the girls will love it.
  20. Why are you sorry you brought I up? I found it interesting. I was a little surprised to see the photos you posted. I did not know the L88 in '67 had that ducting set up. I've seen the similar set up on the '68s with the L88. But, I honestly did not know they had a functional air induction set up on the '67s. Keep posting the stuff you do Greg. You, Snake, and several others, I always enjoy seeing what you have to post. Well.... Maybe not everything. But, close to it. ?
  21. Nice point Bill. We do like to bitch about nothing sometimes. Imagine if they didn't do the recall! This is life. Sometimes things go wrong. Humans make mistakes. Hopefully ones that will not take life or limb. But, even that happen from time to time. Here they offering to take care of a problem (mainly to protect they own behinds I'm sure), and we complain.
  22. Comments like the above, and similar ones you made in other threads here, make you sound like a pompous you know what Christain. What profession are you in? And you never make mistakes in that endeavor? Or had limited resources to work with? I wish I and people/schools/companies I work with could be as perfect and professional as you and the ones you seem to work with are. I work with imperfect humans whom in general seem to be doing their best. They and I are not perfect. But, we seem to be doing a pretty good job. I hear few complaints.
  23. I like these video reviews since Round 2 started doing them. The Cameo comment of course is wrong. But, why are a lot of you making a big deal about that? He made a simple mistake. Like none of you ever do that? Thankfully there is only one new thing I want this month. Round 2 has been releasing so much stuff I do want recently, that I'm about to go broke. This month, I'm really only interested in the Pacer wagon.
