  1. Any photos of these kits? I've seen a few of AMT's '64 1/2-'65 Mustangs on line. But, very few of the others. I'd especially love to see the '55 Thunderbird (or course). Both built, and unbuilt.
  2. That's a shame. Round 2 should have turned this into a 2-in-1 kit. Stock and Street Rod versons since they have done the parts for both in the past.
  3. I see they moved this thread to the "kit review" section, from the general. That make sense since this thread is really a review of the C2 Corvette kits. Good decision on whoever decided to move it.
  4. Thanks for another great review Tim. The new Camaro looks great. And so does AMT's new kit. I really like the prepainted window parts. The trouble is, I'm more interested in pursuing the new Camaro as a promo rather than a kit. I wonder if there will be one made available? By AMT or another?
  5. Yep. '74 was the last year of the smaller window. This would be a good year to do. Offer it as a '74 Type LT. For in '74 (and '73) the Z28 could be had with the Type LT. That way if someone doesn't like the Z28, they could still build a "plain" Camaro. In the last season of the TV show Mannix ('74-'75), Mannix himself drove a '74 Type LT with Z28 wheels. So you could then replicate one of his cool cars in model form.
  6. ???? What? And why? I'm sorry, but this thread is a little lame to me.
  7. A big bumper '74 Z28 would be very cool. Put me down for one, if it ever happens.
  8. Interesting going to the above link. They say it's not compatible certain Polystyrenes. So would this stuff work with this kit or not? If it does, I may just go on eBay and buy some.
  9. I got the Revell SnapTite kit finished already. It turned on great straight out of the box with a little glue and foil. Right now it's sitting next to my AMT Prestige '63 convertible. Fun to contrast and compare the two, sitting side by side. I'm not sure which one I like better. They are both fine 1/25 scale representatives of the '63 Corvette convertibles. Which one would I want to own as a real car? Again, I'm not sure. The Revell kit represents a car with PowerGlide and air conditioning. And I love anything in blue. I'm not keen on the tan interior. But, it's okay. The AMT kit represents a car with a four-speed and fuel injection. And I painted it red with a red interior. Despite loving blue, red is still a great color for Corvettes. The Revell car in real life would be very nice for touring and driving in traffic. Especially on hot days. The AMT version in real life would grab more attention and respect from other car guys. It too would still be a nice car for touring. But not if the weather is hot. So which do I like better? In general I'd like the AMT fuelie a little more as a real car. But I would not turn away a C2 Vette with air and a PowerGlide at the same time either.
  10. I agree. What's wrong with him asking $300.00? He can ask. But, nobody is putting a gun to my head, and telling me I have buy it. I wouldn't mind owning the kit. But not for $300.00. In fact I'm sure what I would be interested in getting kit for is way below what a lot of you would be willing to pay for it. It's not one that is that high on my lists of must haves.
  11. The right fish might enjoy it. Just don't build the kit using Elmer's regular white glue. Or you'll be reassembling it in a very short time.
  12. In today's mail, came the 1/25 scale Revell SnapTite '63 Sting Ray convertible I ordered a week or two ago. Opened it up. It looks pretty nice. As I expected it to be. Hope to have it done before I go to bed tonight. Sometime it's fun to build something as simple as this kit is. Simple, but very nice detail. Looks better than some glue kits.
  13. I will check it out. I wonder if we carry it at the O'Reilly's I work during the summer? Does the stuff set up fairly quickly. And any idea what it is? A white glue? Superglue? Epoxy? Or what?
  14. Had a very good day going up north with my sister to visit an 89 year old aunt. Who looks and acts like she's 15 to 20 years younger than she is. She has always been my favorite aunt, and was so nice to see she is still doing so well. I asked, and she ended up telling a wonderful story of how she ended up dating and marrying my late uncle back in the late 1940's. Her and my uncle Ray were always great at telling true stories in such an interesting way. A couple of cousins, but not Ray and Elanor's kids, joined us for the visit. And it was great to spend time with them too. On the way back, we stop and visited with one of my dad's cousins who was close to my sister and my age, rather than my dad's. Again, another wonderful visit. Though some sad family stories were discussed there. My dad's cousin has a cute little cabin in the woods near the old family homestead. And very close to cemetery where her parents, and my grandparents are buried. So, we did make a stop there with her before going home too. This all may sound a little depressing. But, it really wasn't.
  15. Thanks for posting this Gerry. I've been waiting for someone to get smart and offer us a Bronco model kit for at least 40 years now. And from looking at the photos, they done a great job on the kit.
  16. Round 2 came through like champs. I got my replacement frames in this morning's mail. Back to working on the kit.
  17. I can not afford the amount of Alcad it would take to replace the chrome in the Roadhog 225 kit! I'll pay the 15% extra instead.
  18. I discovered late last week, that both frames were missing from my new Mod Rod Model A kit. Emailed them either last Wednesdays or Thursday requesting replacement parts. Pleased to see, I got them in the mail this morning, that was very fast service. Thank you Round 2.
  19. I know Paynesville, MN. But, were is Greenwald? By the way, you mentioned Lefse. You know it's embrassing to invite non-Scandinavians to a Scandinavian supper. They keep trying to use the Lefse as a napkin.
  20. You bet ya. Walleye-on-a-Stick at the State Fair, for sure. Lutefisk at different church suppers in the winter time, right around Christmas. In fact, First Lutheran church in Columbia Heights has a very good Lutefisk dinner that I like to go to. Went this last year. Plan on it again this coming year. Would you like me to get some tickets for you, Danno?
  21. Good old Broderick Crawford and his '56 Buick. Love the '56 Olds the other Highway Patrolmen were driving. The Rod was interesting. Looks like Olds powered to me. But, where was the supercharger on the car they kept talking about? They must have had invisible superchargers back then! Still a good episode. The running down of the old lady had to be pretty shocking for 50's TV. Even now it was pretty dramatic. The guy who played her husband did a very good acting job IMO.
  22. Love it! I've seen it before. But, I still love it.
  23. Ah but Rob, you forget that the cool cup indentations in the 1961's glove box door. Each one deep enough to hold a Coke bottle upright in a 1G turn. Plus you got the twisty straws with the starlite specks in the plastic. And don't forget the special wind wings, aerodynamicly shape to help you flick the ashes off of your cigarettes. Does the 2016 still have these keen features? I think not!
  24. Yep. I tryed taping. Still trying to figure it out.
  25. By the way. Notice what is really cheap today, after inflation is taken into account? Gasoline! In real terms, hours worked, I think gasoline is as affordable as it's ever been in my life time.
