  1. The talk about potatos several posts above, reminds of a chain we use to have around here that I loved. One Potato, Two Potato. They just served baked potatos with diffent toppings. My favorite was their Swiss cheese with shrimp. Yum! But, the chain been gone from around here for many years now. I wonder what happen to them?
  2. 30 years? My dad used the above method to custom tint his real Mustang II windows in a year or two. Of course that method did damage his lungs and he died at the age of 73 because of that damage. So, I guess it's not technique I would recommend.
  3. I'm not a fan of bras on cars. And I will never use one on one of my models. But, still I'm courious about what the end results of this will be. I hope you keep us posted Mr. Forsythe (Joe?).
  4. Wow! I too in 50 years of model building have never seen a can of paint do what's being seen here. I just don't understand it. I'll be interested in finding out what you hear from the paint companies, Brian. It's a mystery to me. Interesting. But, a mystery.
  5. Brings back bad memories of that CB/Dico era for me. But, in general it looks like a fun kit. And I hope you post the build of it when your done.
  6. I don't know if this is legal or not. But, can one disconnect the system so it will not go off? Ever? Not only are air bags potentially dangerous. But, it's expensive to replace them even if they do go off safely. I haven't about any problems with my 2000 LeSabre's air bags yet. But I still don't trust them, like them, or feel that they are necessary with wearing a seat belt and shoulder harness. And how long are they guaranteed to work on old car down the road? I plan on keeping my 16 year old LeSabre for a few more years yet. It's a nice car. Still in pretty nice shape. But like any car, parts get old and need replacing. How does one know when their air bag system needs replacing? I believe there is a light on my dashboard that tells. But, I'm not 100% sure of that. And how tough is it repair or replace the system when it comes time to restore a car with air bags? This whole air bag thing just seems like a can of worms waiting for a problem. Like I say, wear your seat belt and shoulder harness properly, and you don't need air bags anyhow.
  7. By the way, there were 20 L88s built in the 1967 model year. From the research I've done so far, the air induction system was only on the L88 cars from the factory. Though as Snake said, there may have been some sold through the dealerships. Other than the L88s the other 427 stinger hoods were not functional. A few people in '67 tried ordering 327 cars with the stinger hood. Chevrolet always refused the orders. At the same time there are rumors that a few 327 cars were factory built with the 427 stinger hood.
  8. Thursday night went to a local pizza place (Broadway Pizza) with my neighbor. He had done some work for me on my house, so I owed him a dinner. We ordered a large meat pizza, cheese curds as an appetizer, and soft drinks. The bill came out to just under $42.00! I always try to tip well, and left an $8.00 tip. $50.00 for pizza! It was good pizza. But I was a little surprised by the bill. At the same time I didn't say anything in front of my neighbor about it. For what he did for me was well worth $50.00. Plus I got a nice meal and some very good conversation up of the deal too. It was a win, win overall. So I really should not complain.
  9. Cool car for his first model. Got to love them Ford GTs.
  10. Way to go Ray! Women love to dance. I'm no Fred Astaire. Not even close. But I've found most women don't really care. They're just happy to have someone to dance with. Heck, go just about any dance, women will dance with each other if they can't get a guy to join them. One of my few pieces of dating advice to the boys I work with in the schools. Go out and dance with the girls. Nobody will really cares if your not a good dancer. And the girls will love it.
  11. Why are you sorry you brought I up? I found it interesting. I was a little surprised to see the photos you posted. I did not know the L88 in '67 had that ducting set up. I've seen the similar set up on the '68s with the L88. But, I honestly did not know they had a functional air induction set up on the '67s. Keep posting the stuff you do Greg. You, Snake, and several others, I always enjoy seeing what you have to post. Well.... Maybe not everything. But, close to it. ?
  12. Nice point Bill. We do like to bitch about nothing sometimes. Imagine if they didn't do the recall! This is life. Sometimes things go wrong. Humans make mistakes. Hopefully ones that will not take life or limb. But, even that happen from time to time. Here they offering to take care of a problem (mainly to protect they own behinds I'm sure), and we complain.
  13. Comments like the above, and similar ones you made in other threads here, make you sound like a pompous you know what Christain. What profession are you in? And you never make mistakes in that endeavor? Or had limited resources to work with? I wish I and people/schools/companies I work with could be as perfect and professional as you and the ones you seem to work with are. I work with imperfect humans whom in general seem to be doing their best. They and I are not perfect. But, we seem to be doing a pretty good job. I hear few complaints.
  14. I like these video reviews since Round 2 started doing them. The Cameo comment of course is wrong. But, why are a lot of you making a big deal about that? He made a simple mistake. Like none of you ever do that? Thankfully there is only one new thing I want this month. Round 2 has been releasing so much stuff I do want recently, that I'm about to go broke. This month, I'm really only interested in the Pacer wagon.
  15. Other than the L88, that setup was not use with any other engine. And how many L88s were built that year? Was it 8? Or 20? I can't remember without looking it up. And I'm too lazy to do that right now. ?
  16. I've always felt that airbags were a useless feature in general. If you properly wear your seatbelt/shoulder harness you shouldn't really need an airbag. I remember when GM first offered them on some of their cars back in the mid 70's. If you ordered the airbag option, they took away your shoulder harnesses. And only gave you the lap belts up front. The main idea of the airbag was for people who were uncomfortable or unwilling to use their shoulder harnesses. And back in the day, there were plenty of those people. Today, the law requires me to wear my seatbelt/shoulder harness. I do have mixed feels about the government tell me I have to do it. But, I've been an advocate for seatbelt usage, and have been using them since our first family car, my folks new at the time '67 a Mercury Comet, came with them. So why am I required to have dangerous and expensive airbags in my car? (My 2000 Buick LeSabre has four of them.)
  17. There is another thread here thanking/talking about Round 2's great service at providing replacement parts when needed. And Round 2 does indeed do a very good job. No question about it. I needed one very little replacement part from Revell recently. All I needed was the little propeller that goes on the Deal's Wheels Go-Mad Nomad's surfboard. They not only kindly sent me the propeller. But with it, a very nice hat pin celebrating the 50th anniversary of the '57 Chevy. True, that anniversary was already 9 years ago. But, still I think it was very nice of them to send me the pin with my requested part. The pin's theme goes great with the kit. (For those who don't know, the Go-Mad Nomad is a caricature of a '57 Chevy Nomad wagon.) In a related note. Recently I needed another propeller. In this case for my AMT Hindenburg. Round 2 too did an outstanding job of getting me the replacement part. So, thank you Revell. And thank you Round 2. Your customer service departments both do a great job.
  18. Anything past the Js? Wow what a list. Some good. Many bad. Several repeats. Tough to get through.
  19. I got my Original Art Series '29 Model A Roadster kit today at a local hobby shop. I am very please with what found in the box. My plans are to build one car as the Mod Rod with fenders. The other the Vintage Racing version without fenders. As excited as I am about Revell's '29 and '30 Model As, which I also purchased, I'm more excited by this AMT kit. The new stuff is great. But, in someways my heart is struck more by the old stuff.
  20. My understanding this scoop was fake in every way. No cowl induction like on some later Chevys, including Corvette. It's strictly a styling thing on the '67s. Fake or not, it still looks great.
  21. You know the old saying, "Those who can, do. Those who can't teach." One of these days I'll have to figure out how use a photo site. And how to post photo from it.
  22. And is there then a kit of his car? Or decals to covert a kit into his car?
