  1. In South America, GM also made a Chevette/T-body El Camino like pickup truck. Chevette was in some ways GM's first true world car. Like I said earlier, I admire the Chevette. It was a fairly good cheap car. And it was cool in all the variarations that were offered around the world. Someday Chevette will get the respect it deserves. Scott
  2. Over the weekend, though the mail, I got Scotty Gosson's book Wildest Show Rods of the 1960s & 1970s. Good companion to his book on model show rods that I got about a week ago. Scott
  3. I've had several friends who owned Chevettes and a T-1000 over the years. They were cheap and okay looking to some degree. But, they all very good and reliable cars. I actually respect them. At the same time the only model I have of a Chevette is the promo of a '79 I bought new back in 1979. If the kit was reissued I'd probably buy one. But, I'm chomping at the bit to get my hands on one. A Vega on the hand.... The Vega was not as good of a car as the Chevette. But, it looked a lot better. Especially the early versions with small bumpers. Scott
  4. What is word on this on? And is it 1/24th scale? If so, it would be cool to find one. Scott
  5. Another great review Mr. Boyd. Thanks again. Scott
  6. Just got back from a nice weekend in Duluth, MN. I go up there every year for their World of Wheels Show. Since we don't have one in the Twin Cities anymore. I always have a fun time there. I stay with a cousin and go to the show with her husband, Rus. This year a buddy of Rus' joined us and we had a really great time. While we were at the show on Saturday the wives went out garage sailing. We meet them for a late lunch after the show. Then just us guys went over to the train museum at the old Duluth railroad depot. That's the second time I've visted that museum. The first was just a year ago. And again I was blown away by the place. The other gentleman with us, Loren, had never been there before. He too was impressed and plans on bringing his grandkids up there in the future. Today we stopped at another cousins "getaway" cabin near the old grandparents (and extended families) old homestead(s) out in the country near by, a little ways outside of Duluth. A very cute retreat she has out in the sticks. One thing I love, is she has four chickens besides a a dog and two cats out there. And for whatever reason I just get a big kick out watching and interacting with the chickens. I find them both fascinating and humorous to watch. Loving extended family. Good company. Good food. Cars and trains. Entertainment from chickens. And a job I love, that I get to go back to. What more can one ask for? Life is good. Scott
  7. It's a kick sled? Isn't it? One person sits in front, while a person in back stands pushing it. Not very common around here. But, I've seen one or two. And, I though it was called a kick sled. Scott
  8. Basically the same thing here Harry. I've been out of town for the weekend, and have not heard or seen a weather forecast. I'm really hoping we're not going to get any accumulation of snow. Winter needs to end! Scott
  9. GTX was not an option for the Road Runner in '69. It was considered a seperate model. It was basically a fancy Road Runner. But it was not a Road Runner with a GTX option package. Not until 1972 at least. Scott
  10. ??? Other than side maker lights, I've never seen a lot of differences between the '67 and '68 Cougar. I have noticed the difference between the '67 and '68 Mustangs. Grilles, steering and more padding to the dash. And the '68 Cougar did get the new design steering too. But, beyond those two items, steering wheel and side marker lights, I don't see a lot visual difference in the two years of Cougar. Scott
  11. That a very fun and nicely done diorama. I like it. Scott
  12. I don't remember anybody predicting that. And I'm still blown away by it. In some ways it's much better and more useful than the other things they predicting back in the day. Scott
  13. Nope. Neither one works for me. Both are ugly. The Ariel Atom is just a little less ugly. Scott
  14. Love the car. But nothing was realalisticly thought out in that movie. That's not the point. It a stupid, but full movie, with a cool looking car. Just sit back and enjoy. And when questions of reality creep in, just keep reminding your self it's just a movie. And that it's okay. Scott
  15. Just ordered one off of eBay. I'm imspired Rob's foot steps and go with a cool color. Rather than the warm yellow you normally see this kit done in. Great job Rob. Scott
  16. Don't enlight him, until he enlightens us on his postings. Scott
  17. I assume that's used for express deliveries. Scott
  18. The engine id test I got 16 out of 17. I didn't know the dipstick clue on iding the 348 from the 409. Scott
  19. This has become ridiculous. How many threads are there on this subject? I personally gave up month's ago trying to post pictures here. Unless you know how to use outside services, you can not post pictures here. Scott
  20. Can't top that. But, I'm sure I got some started in the 80's waiting to be finished. Someday.... Maybe.... Scott
  21. That's my advice too. Testor One Coat Lacquer is okay. But in general I stay away from Testors spray paint. I pay more for Tamiya, but I'm much happier in the end. Scott
  22. 9 out of 10 on the auto one. I'm a little disappointed in myself. The question about why an engine runs smoothly threw me for a loop. Scott
  23. Okay. Who are these people? And why should they replace Clarkson? Scott
