  1. Wow! That video blew me away. Is that cool! Scott
  2. The reason the model your looking at has a metal chassis rather than a plastic one, is that it is not a true "promo". It's a prebuilt friction model sold to be used as a toy. Some people do not put as high of a value on fictions vs. promos. Mainly because of the chassis. Promos, for the most part, had the more the detailed plastic chassis, and in most cases were painted in factory correct colors. Frictions have the simpler chassis with the fiction motor in them. And can be found either not painted or in non factory color. And then there are the promos with the radio. The model your looking at looks okay. Other than the broken sun visor. If you plan on fixing it up and painting it, it should be okay at that price. Scott
  3. I agree with you on that. Scott
  4. I agree with everything you've said here, above. Working the education field I work very hard at trying to turn out knowledgeable and wise children for the future. And in general, I think we'll be okay. Scott
  5. I've had a couple of busy days lately. So I did not get to send out to you guys my greetings on St. Urho's day, this last Monday. For those of you who don't know the legend of St. Urho, here is what one source I have has to say: "And so it was that on the sixteenth day of the third month, Urho, voice loud from sour milk and fish soup, did drive the offending insects from the land. "Grasshopper, grasshopper go from hence to hell!" (Heinasirkka, Heinasirkka, mene taalta hiiteen!) said he, thus saving the grape harvest, and the oenophiles of the world rejoiced." I hope you had a good St. Urho's day. And remembered to wear purple on that day. Oh... And I hope you enjoyed the celebration of that minor Irish saint, what's his name, on the next day too. Scott
  6. Very good. I too got a good laugh out of that one. Scott
  7. That's kind of cool. It will never replace piloted jets for doing the same thing. But, doing that type of flying from remote control is impressive too. Scott
  8. I got all 13 correct. The one on the main gas composing the earth's atmosphere was the only one I wasn't 100% sure of as I answered it. I found the other 12 very easy. Scott
  9. I have a beautiful '60 Galaxie Town Victiora promo. It's got some minor warpage. In fact it looks like it was slightly t-boned on one side. But to me it's still exceptable. My understanding is exposer to light is what does them in. Scott
  10. It's a great kit. At least the stock version which I built several years ago was. Revell did a great job tooling up my favorite Corvette. Scott
  11. The Dag Queen by Lindberg? I've seen better looking Drag Queens in the seedy areas of some cities. Scott
  12. I finally understood how a car's engine worked after building my first Visable V8 model. I remember asking my Dad how an automobile engine worked as kid. He was not expert mechanic by any means. But, he could fix most things that went wrong on our family vehicles. When I asked to explain how a cars' engine worked, he just said it was complicated. And the books I found in the school libraries didn't seem to tell it in a way that I could understand. I've always been more of a visual learner. Once I see something working I can generally grasp how it does what it's doing. I was surprised when I built my first Visable V8. My dad was wrong, four-stroke internal combustion engines are really not that complicated at all. The minor details are. But the general design and the way it works I found pretty straight forward. And that's just one of many things about cars I've learned from building models over the years. At the same time, I too like it when the instructions label what the part. I also learned a lot of from reading model instructions of other kits. Scott
  13. In that first picture, I'm still not seeing the IRS agent under the car. If there is one there, you just gun the accelerator. That takes care of the problem. Scott
  14. Yesterday I recieved the book Show Rod Model Kits by Scotty Gosson. A pretty good book. Well worth the price. Lots of great photos and information. Scott
  15. I remember seeing that set in the old Auto World catalogs back in the early 70's. Scott
  16. Now that's funny! Scott
  17. I'm telling you, you need to see the Foose car painted. It then looks right to me. Scott
  18. Never mind Ron. I missed the YouTube link at first. Once I saw that I got it. Scott
  19. Joe and Bill's comments I understand. But to be honest Ron, I don't get yours? Can you explain? Scott
  20. I think that would be tough to do. But, it sure would be interesting. Scott
  21. I'm surprised! I've always heard about the MPC kit being way undersized. After seeing it compared with the other two '69 Mustangs, it's not as bad as I expected. I've had one laying around for a few years now. Maybe in time to pull in it out and look at building it. Thanks for the comparison. Scott
  22. That's one of the times I've ever found Tina Loise to be attractive. I was always more into Dawn Wells. Scott
  23. You should see it painted. Scott
