  1. By the way, this is the type of stuff I love see in this forum. I love seeing all the variations of different kits. Seeing what I had, or have. And what I may have missed at the time. I believe I got the MPC '70 'Cuda, along with the MPC '70 Firebird Formula 400 for Christmas back in 1970. I wish I had those two kits now. Scott
  2. Hey, Chris above stole my line! I too think it look good. Very nice in fact. Scott
  3. I've got to ask. Is that a die cast model? If it is and since your new here, you may not know, there is a special area in this forum for die cast. Scott
  4. Hate to do this to you Tom. But that '69 Ford wagon you saw? Is really a '68. Sorry buddy. Scott
  5. Interesting, we've seen 3 Pyro/Lindberg Lincoln Continentals in this thread. And all 3 look pretty good. The front ends look weak and soft. And were the top meets the windshield needs work. But beyond that I'm surprised how good they look. Still I'm not going to run and buy one. My skill level is not that good. I am tempted to go after the Pyro/Lindberg Cord 812 though. I know it's really no better than their Lincoln. But, I love 810/812 Cords, and own most models put out of them over the years. Including the Revell Highway Pioneer 1/32nd scale Cord 810 from the 1950's. Which surprisingly isn't too bad of a kit. Scott
  6. Can we see it? Scott
  7. Great review. This is where photos help a lot. But, the info you passed on in your text is important too. It would be nice to see the instructions in future, after you find them. I'm curious about seeing how the body goes together on this one. Scott
  8. What's wrong with this one? It looks great! Scott
  9. Fantastic. The color is perfect for car. Scott
  10. Good save. I like it. Scott
  11. The Revell '56 Ford pickup Kevin talks about above, is another of those kits I had no problems with. But, like Kevin many do. I don't consider myself to be a better of builder than most others posting on these blogs. So, why do some have troubles building one kit? And others don't? And then it turns around. A kit the first person finds trouble free. The second won't. At the same time, I think everybody has problems with Palmer, Pyro, and Premier. Scott
  12. Two great movies, the original Italian Job and Mad Mad Mad World. I've never seen Yellow Rolls Royce. So I can not comment on that one. Scott
  13. Oh.... You got a '59 and '60 Mercury too? Very nice. Scott
  14. Two of my favorites are the F-86 (but not the dog) and the Me-262. Shooting Stars were cool too. I like the looks of the early jets. Scott
  15. Never saw that movie. But, thanks for explaining it Bill. Scott
  16. Back in April, I picked up the Dodge Ram 50. I looked at it and thought it was interesting for a nice future build. But, didn't notice anything overly special about it. I guess I'll have to take another look at it. Scott
  17. In another recent thread, it was determined that that kit was a modified tolling of old a Renwal Mustang 2+2 kit from the 1960's. Why Revell first reissued it, and then modified into a Shelby is anybody's guess. Scott
  18. I wouldn't worry too much. I have a 2000 Buick LeSabre with about 115,000 miles that's been the greatest car I've own up to this point. It went though one recall when it was fairly new. But, the dealer did a great job of taking care of it, and me. I've owned serval General Motors products over the years. Mostly Buicks. They've all given me pretty good service. I've never regretted buying one of them. Now I've had one Mercury and a Plymouth that were different stories....... Scott
  19. Interesting, two of the flip noses you mentioned Mr. Mesner I had no problems with at all. And that is AMT's '40 Willys and Monogram's, in my case Street Fighter, yours Bad Actor, '60 Chevy sedan delivery. I find it interesting that what workers for one person doesn't always work for another. Then it can turn around and other person has no troubles with something the first person now has trouble with. It's strange that it sometimes works that way. By the way, my Street Fighter '60 Chev nose fits like a glove. The '40 Willys not as well. And I was able to get both to work smoothly. Scott P.S. What is your first name? I'm not a fan of calling people on these blogs by their last names. I assume we're all friends here. And calling you "Snake45" just doesn't seem right either.
  20. Boy, the more I look at those pictures of the Palmer kits. The more I realize how bad they were. You can ignore everything I said above about old Revell gassers. They were great compared to the Palmers. I just can not get over how bad they are looking at the pictures! I don't remember them being that bad. But, as soon as I saw the the photos, it's like, oh yeh, they were that bad! Scott
  21. Sure rub it in Ray! Summer isn't quite done here I'm happy to say. This last week was beautiful. Daytime temps the 70's F. This weekend the temps are in the 80's F. Who can complain? Though I hear we're heading back down to more normal temps for this time of the year later week. But, for now I'm the King of Egypt. I'm in deNile about winter coming! Scott
  22. Hey, Bill. Don't scare me like that, showing old Palmer kits. I still have nightmares after more than 40 years. Showing me Palmer kits again, just makes them worst. Scott
  23. Blogging about the worst kit reminded me of the kit that most impressed me when I was a kid. And looking back on it would impress me today. Monogram's Mean Maverick funny car. I was knocked over by the easy of building it, and the amount the detail. And the motor for raising the body, and foot pedal that raised it were fun. There maybe better models out there, with better and more accurate details. But, this is the one that impressed me the most. And I'm still waiting for Revell/Monogram to bring it back. Scott
