  1. Boy, you guys are just looking for problems. I have to quit looking at this tread before I begin to believe you too much, and start disliking this kit. The I've got looks pretty good. As noted, I've just started working on it. And despite the flaws you guys keep pointing out, it still looks like it will build into a decent looking '67 Camaro to me. I do need to quit reading this thread. It's become no fun. Like Revell' latest '70 'Cuda it may not be perfect. So are a lot of the models I've built over the years. But, if they do a pretty good representation of the real car. In others words if the average person can not tell there is anything wrong. I'm pretty happy with it. This is my last comment on this subject. I'm not going to let you guys ruin any more of my fun. On to other things. Scott
  2. Good kit to come back with. Always a fun one. Scott
  3. Ah, Bob Taber stool exactly what I was going to say. Scott
  4. I still am interested in hearing from somebody who has actually used Spaz Stix before. I know lots of guys who use Alclad with good results. And from them, I know how to use and apply Alclad. I'm cautious using something new, until I've heard from somebody who has actually tried it. Scott
  5. Do you know why chicken coops have two doors? If they had four doors they'd be chicken sedans. Scott
  6. About every ten years I have a run in with kidney stones. No fun. My sister who has had four kids and kidney stones, will tell you the pain from kidney stones is a lot worst than delivering babies. Just went through my last bout this last January. I hope I'm good for at least another 9 1/2 years. Scott
  7. I forgot to mention the Marx Bros. and the Three Stooges. And sorry to say guys, but I like Shemp just a little bit better than Curly. Don't get me wrong, Curly is great. But I find Shemp a bit funnier. And my all time favorite comedian was, is, and always will be, Grocho Marx. Whether in the movies or his show, "You Bet Your Life". And I have every Marx Bros. movie and all 190 Stooge shorts on DVD. Vince mentioned Universal Horror films. They are still the best. I also like Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce's version of Sherlock Holms and Watson still. Basil Rathbone brings me to The Adventures of Robin Hood, staring Errol Flynn. I also love Claude Rains in that movie. Talking about Universal horror leads to another great movie, Abbott and Castello Meet Frankenstein. And bring up the name Frankenstein, and that reminds of one of my all time favorite comedies, Mel Brook's Young Frankenstein. And his other seminal piece of work, Blazing Saddles. That's it for now. So many great movies. Whoops, I'm a almost forgot the great Tarzan movies with Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O'Sullivan. Okay, that's it for sure, for now. Scott
  8. Great to see this article right now. Last Wednesday I picked up AMT's recently rereleasted '33 Willys Panel Truck. It comes with this engine. The engine in the kit looks pretty good compared to the photos at this link. Thanks Gene for posting it. Scott
  9. As others have said, great color. Looks good. Scott
  10. Thank you guys for clearing that up. That had been the first time I had ever heard of Daytonas being called "Birds". In fact I have never heard of Roadrunner Superbirds being called just "Birds". Daytonas were Daytonas. Superbirds, Superbirds. I'm of the old school were Birds referred to mainly Thunderbirds in the automotive vernacular. Scott
  11. Thank you Dean. Now that I see it, sorry to say, it would not interest me in least. Scott
  12. So with Spaz Stix you need to put down a gloss black base like Alclad? Nick, since you've used it, tell us more. Is prep and buffing afterwords differ from using Alclad? any pictures of the end result? Scott
  13. I'm curious. Why do you called them "Birds"? Scott
  14. Okay, so what is an Elio? How about some pictures? Or a link to something? So rest of us can find out what an Elio is. Scott
  15. I agree with that one. Scott
  16. What vehicle is being talked about here? Scott
  17. That's a really good review. The only thing I didn't get is what he painted on. After all, doesn't Alclad require a gloss black undercoat to correct results? What about the others? This was not clear to me. Scott
  18. I like the latest Revell Barracuda kit. But, I still found this funny. Scott
  19. Come on Dave, your from Minneapolis. None of that negative talk about summer being over. I'm not ready for cooler weather! I love Minnesota, but I hate the winters here. And do not mention that evil four left word. You know the one (S-N-O-W). That reminds my, if I go out at this time of the year to see if my snowblower runs okay, we'll have very little snow this winter. If I wait till the first snow fall, the snowblower will not run and we'll get tons of snow. I better check that snowblower in the next day or two! Scott
  20. James Bond and Star Trek movies (except Moonraker and Star Trek I, V, IX, and X) Any movie with Steve McQueen, Cary Grant, or Humphrey Bogart Vanishing Point (the original one) Grand Prix America Graffiti A Christmas Story Manchurian Candidate (again the original version) Anything made by Hitchcock or Orson Wells 50's Science Fiction Metropolis 2001: A Space Odyssey This can go on forever. I love movies. Scott
  21. He didn't say they came into the States. Ladas were sold in Canada though. Scott
  22. Kool! Scott
  23. I'm down for one if can be built as a Marathon, the none taxi version. Not a lot of difference between a Checker taxi model and a Checker Marathon. Slightly better trim, and taxi meter or roof light, are the main difference. And yes, I too think it would sell well. And it would be nice if Moebius did it. Scott P.S. Prefer the chrome bumper version, over the later battering ram bumper style.
  24. I don't understand it either? Scott
  25. Found some photos of mine. Scott
