Wow! Very nice. Scott

I've seen several models done with this color now. I really like it. Scott

DC has reprinted it several times now. It's a lot more affordable that way. And that way it's okay to take it out a read it. I don't buy stuff because they are collectable or valuable. I only buy things I can use and enjoy. If the reprint or (in the case of models) reissue is basically the same as the original, I'm pretty happy. Scott

Red? I thought it was green! Man I'll never get this new math! Scott

My thoughts too. Wouldn't green be the correct color for oil? Scott -

I'm not a big Ford guy. But this is a very interesting discussion covering several of Fords more interesting engines. Thank guys. Scott -
Alan and Peter, both very nice Thunderbirds. Thunderbird is still by far my favorite Ford. Love them all from 1955 through 1979. Scott

Very nice. What did you use for paint? I like the color. Scott

I got to spend most the day with Captain Jack Sparrow and his wife harassing local festival goers with my evil pirate ways and bad pirate jokes. Arrr.... The above photo is from an earlier event. But it gives you a pretty good idea what we do. Scott

All of this reminds me. A few more weeks and I'll be back trying to teach those young minds on a regular basis. I'm looking forward to it. At the same time, there is the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water. But, you can't make it drink." Sorry to say there are a few students out there that are like that. But now days in the education field, we get blamed if they are willing to drink at the through of knowledge or not. After all, no child is to be left behind. Whether the kids want to be or not. Or their parents take the time or interest in their kid's, or their kid's education or not. Most kids are great. And do get a good education in public schools. There are just a few..... And there is only so much we can do. But, we keep on trying. One can never give up. Once in a while you end up helping one of those who you thought might not make it. Scott

A few years back, I went to a air show in Duluth, MN and saw the Blue Angles perform. And it was very cool when they came in low from a direction you didn't expect with the throttle on high. I loved it! At the same show, I got to see my favorite warbird in action. The P-38 Lightning! Scott

One Gallon Gas Cans, Which Kits Have Them ?
unclescott58 replied to VW93's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Here is a related, but un-related question about the gas and oil cans included in the '60 Ranchero kit. The instructions say to paint the gas can red and the oil can yellow. I know red is right for gas can. But, is yellow correct for the oil can? I'm a little too young (56) to remember oil being transported in generic cans like this. Scott -

Hey, topless women in any scale are always okey with me. But, this one does need to spend a little more time in that tanning bed. She looks a little pale. Scott -
1937 Ford Suburban
unclescott58 replied to f1ford48's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very cool. I've always been a big fan of Chevy's Suburban Carryalls, and have seen many photos of the Ford Rangers. I never understood why Ford let Chevrolet dominate this market with their factory direct built Suburbans. Especially by the early 70's. This is one of the few times I have to disagree with Art by the way. Chevrolet still can hold the claim of being the first with a factory built steel wagon. Ford and others were all converted by other companies. Until International's Travelall and Dodge's Town Wagon in the 50's. Which reminds me another blogger here brought up International using the Carryall name? I maybe wrong, but this I don't remember? But, both the "Suburban" and "Carryall" names were used regularly on many early car and truck wagons. These were more generic terms, than specific names. For many years, right up through the late 70's Plymouth used the name Suburban on many of their station wagons. It's not until the last 15 or 20 years that Chevrolet has registered the name as theirs. Scott -
"NEW" Parts Pack kit Chevy Covair engine and a Chrysler

Wow! Very nice Meyer's Manx. A great choice of a color I would have never thought of. That and the Corvair Turbo. Very kool. Scott -
First it's good to see Mr. Kampmann here. I heard something about him being in accident? But, I hear your all right? About the '67 SS-369. Mr. Kampmann is right, the 1967 Camaro was introduced on September 26, 1966. Along with it, Chevrolet's new to the SS-350 only, 350 small block. The SS-396 was not brought on line until November of 1966. And this seems to be an after thought, because no reference to the 396 engine being available, appears in early Camaro sales brochures or other factory literature. I would prefer that Revell's new kit is an SS-350. But, I will be happy if it is an SS-396. I will be even more happy if they ever bring out a '67 SS/RS convertible. But, I think I've mentioned this more than one time before. Scott

Sorry, I did not find this link overly helpful. A lot more pictures of the model box. And one or two Jeep kits that could be based on the same kit. Scott P.S. I do know how to Google search are ready. I have found many great links to older models and topics in this forum that way. -
round2 archives
unclescott58 replied to ianguilly's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
This discussion brings up a question that has nothing to do with what Round 2 may or may not have. And this deals with a company like Revell retooling an old kit like Monogram's Sizzler/now Slingster kit. Or Rommel's Rod. How economical or practical is that? I wonder what the future is of seeing more old or lost kits come back in ways like that? I still hope Round 2 finds more stuff in their inventory that's been reported lost. And I keep hoping the stories about Jo-Han's toolings are not true, and we see someone get a hold of that stuff and reissue more of their old kits in the future. Scott -

Again, anybody have any photos? I'd love to see what one looks like, since the box art is so off. Scott
