  1. Nice build and nice color. But, tell us more about the color. What is it? And who makes it? Scott
  2. Oh, by the way, equipped right those A100s could handle a camper like that just fine. Back in the day you'd see them set up with a camper on back, quite frequently. Scott
  3. Very nice Rick. We need not only a Ford version, but a Corvair Rampside too. Love those old forward control trucks. Scott
  4. All right! A Mutt II! Everybody likes to put Mustang IIs down. For the time they were right for where the market was at. And still like them. Scott
  5. Ron it's a compliment that your car reminds so many people of Biff's. Back to Future was a great set of movies, that would have really would have gone no where without a character like Biff Tanner. And I think the one thing we all like about Biff is his car. Still a little cow dung would be fun. Scott
  6. Not my style. But I still like what you did. I can appreciate the work that went in it. Any even though it's not my style. And I too shake my head when I see things like that on the road. The big question becomes, it is your kit, and do you like it? As long as you like it it's OK. Scott It would be a boring world if we all like the same thing. Though we all know the rest of you have no taste. And only the things I like are truly good!
  7. Wow looks great! Another oldie I wish Revell would dust off the dies for and repop. In the mean time, great job Alan. Scott
  8. Ron, I love it. And I'm glad to see not everybody has given up on AMT's old '57 Fairlane since Revell came out with their '57 Ford. Sure Revell's '57 is a superior kit to AMT's some 50 year old kit. But, the old one is still not a bad kit, that can be built quite nicely as shown by your build here Ron. I have one stored away I need to get to some day. When I do mine, I'll be going with a Red and Black two-tone. I only hope it turns out half as well as yours. Scott
  9. Great minds must think a like! That was first thought when I saw this build. I was also thinking some cow stuff would work too. Any how, nice build. Scott
  10. Sounds good to me Rob. I'm sure you'll do just fine. Scott
  11. Ah, good old GM. The dumb s.o.b.s that they are. I had heard this was the reason Shawn Carpenter stopped offering his stuff. At the same time others are offering other GM products in resin. I wonder what it would take for another to step in and offer a GMC conversion like the one I got Mr. Carpenter. If anybody ever does try to offer something similar, they're good to have work hard match Shawn's quality. Scott
  12. Just went through Bill's tutorial from beginning to end. Since I see Bill has been reading this, great job Bill. At the same time it would be fun and useful to someone else do a similar thing every couple of years. There are always new people coming in to the hobby. And a lots of old farts who forget things or didn't pay attention the first time through. So I'd love to see another basic building skills tutorial. The only thing, Bill set a pretty high standard. But, I'm sure it can be done. Go for it Rob. Scott
  13. This posting was and is still is very good and usefull. Fantastic job of building and teaching others how to build Bill. It was fun to go back to the beginning and read it from start to finish. Scott
  14. There are NO Dumb Questions! It fact I'm glad you brought this question up. I made the switch to Tamiya's spay paints a while back, and because of the great results I've had, I have been thinking about moving to their bottle paints next. This was a great question. One I probably would not of thought of until I bought the paint and started using. Then I would have been left scratching my head trying to figure that one out. I for one, am glad you asked it. Saved me some future trouble. Scott
  15. Rob, I'd like to see it. Even though I've been building for 50 years now (!!!!????), I can always learn more. You may just show me a new trick I've never seen before. Or use a technique I've been wondering about. Go for it. It would be fun. Harry, if you can, just do what you need to to make it work. There has got to be away of setting it up where it will not get bogged down with others comments. Then again others comments and question prove to helpful and interesting. Scott
  16. Ah good.... I see somebody caught my sense of humor. I really have no dog in this fight. When it comes to Ford, I'm old school. I really like Ford flat heads. Problems and all. But, I know this is not where this question was intended to go. Scott
  17. Very nice. But, Greg and Harry are both right about the shifter (as can be seen in the picture Harry posted). Scott
  18. Looking great so far. Looking forward to see this when it's finished. Scott
  19. Very nice car. It's got two big things going for it in my book. It's a Buick. And it's blue. I love it. Congratulations on getting a picture of it in Hot Rod. It's worth gracing the pages of that fine institution. Scott
  20. I tried digital versions of both Road & Track and the Smithsonian for a year. It was OK. But, I've gone back to reading them in paper form. I'm not sure why I didn't like the digital versions in the end? I just didn't. Scott
  21. That video convinces me even more of the brushes value. True Tamiya products seem overpriced. For years I avoided Tamiya stuff for that reason. But there is that old saying. "You get what you pay for." Tamiya paint cost more than Testors. But I have a lot less problems with their paint. So I end painting more things only once. And I have to do less polishing to do in the end. Saving time and money. And here's the big one, I'm a lot happier with the results. The same thing with their rotating paint stand. Hangers are a lot cheaper. I used them for years. But Tamiya stand is better in so many ways. I can more easily and precisely rotate the model and keeping it level as I do. Expensive? Yes, but I sure like it. On the surface this brush's price may seem out of line. But, if does what they say and show, it's worth every penny to me. I'm tried of buying cheap stuff that does the job only OK (or not at all). I'm willing to pay the price now to get a tool that does things right the first time. Scott
  22. I practically worship at Tamiya's feet. Use to think things like the above brush were overkill. Too pricey. But, the more I use different Tamiya products, the more see they are worth the price. I did not know about the above brush. Since it's designed to get rid of static electricity I'll be buying one. After all, static electricity is one of the things that attracts dust in the first place. Scott
  23. AMT's '60 and '61 Ranchero kit has the "baddest Ford motor". It's a Chevy. Scott
