  1. The nieces know I love Star Trek. So they made me Star Trek Christmas cookies.
  2. The only Jean Shepard I've read were his columns back in Car & Driver, back in the 70's. I love his sense of humor, and do need to pickup a copy of In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash. I've heard of it. And have heard that it's good.
  3. Possibly the 2002 version of the Count of Monte Cristo this afternoon with friends. And more of the Magician (staring Bill Bixby) this evening when I get home.
  4. Good choice. They are still one the best. Nuk, nuk.
  5. A couple of photos dealing with my thoughts above on The Magician's plane. Any thoughts? Was it really the "Starship" or not? The first photo is the box art to present available model of the "Starship". The second is the article from TV guide on The Magician's airplane. The other three are of the "Starship" herself.
  6. Exactly the same situation with me. Including the Ho Ho Ho.
  7. Bought this off of ebay Saturday, and was delivered to my house yesterday. It's a DVD set of a lost classic 70's TV show. The Magician, starring Bill Bixby. I watched a couple of episodes on YouTube before deciding to ordered the complete series, all 21 episodes + the TV pilot, in this DVD collection. I'm happy to say that this is one of those shows I remember liking at the time, that holds well after viewing it 45 years later. The premise is a little unbelievable. A wealthy magician living on his own private Boeing 720 jetliner, solving crime. And he drives a Corvette which he parks in the cargo bay of the plane. The pilot episode does explain where he got the money to do this. But, still. It's a little unbelievable. Yet a fun fantasy. Bill Bixby is so good, and so fun to watch in this series, that I'm willing to buy the premise. Watching the shows got me thinking. I may want to build models of both his Corvette and Boeing 720. The Corvette should not be a problem. In the pilot episode it was a new '73 Corvette coupe. White with a tan interior. In the regular series, the same other than it was now a '74. What little research I can find on plane is an old article from TV Guide, claiming it was borrowed from a branch of the military. I question that. It looks more like the plane known as the "Starship", own by Bob Sherman and his manager, and used by many rock groups in the 1970's. Mainly Led Zeppelin. And if that's the case, there is a model of that exact plane, with decals to make that paint scheme available right now. So I may have to do The Magician's car and plane in model form. By way, the Magician's plane had the name "Sprit" on the nose. And Corvette had personalized license plates reading the SPRIT too. Cool.
  8. Okay. Personal email is sent. Again, thanks.
  9. Very good I wasn't sure of the answer to that. But, no matter what, the console and roll bar mounts are only correct for the Shelbys. The interior and console in Revell's '70 Mach 1 is correct that car. I wonder if it would be correct for this and Revell's other '69 Mustang kits? There should be few differences, that it would not let it work. Or you can do like I am, and ignoring the problem. I just figured that somebody wanted the Shelby roll bar and console in their regular Mustang, and did the conversion. Though what would one do with the courtesy and fog lamps switches in the Shelby console? The courtesy light switch? That's easy, hook it up to turn on your courtesy lights without using the regular light switch to do the job. But, what about the fog light switch? That one I haven't figured out an answer to yet.
  10. Great, I left a message for him to contact me.
  11. Thank you Snake. I signed up to join in, so I can respond to his offer. The price sounds good. By the way, I appreciate you referring to me there to him as a friend of yours. The feeling is like wise. Even though we've never meet directly. I do enjoy my interactions with you on this forum, and consider you too a friend.
  12. Now I like the above better than the real Uncertain T. Overall I'm not keen on it. But, it looks better. And I can't tell you why?
  13. Missed this one, the first time around. Very nice. I like it.
  14. I've passed on this one in the past. But, seeing the box art above, it's going to be tough to pass on it this time. Good box art can get my money sometimes as much as a good kit can.
  15. Another great review Bill. My only objection to this kit, is like their '69 Mach 1 kit, it comes with the Shelby interior tub. Look at the console. The Shelby padding on center armrest and the switches from auxiliary lights just forward of that. Plus the mount set up for the Shelby roll bar. Not a deal breaker to me. But, I am a little disappointed. On plus side, besides the nose job, I'm glad to see Revell bring back pad printed tires back in this kit, and their new '68 Chevelle. Again, thanks for another great view Bill.
  16. Bill, great review all of the way around. Thank you. Like others, I too am looking forward to getting this one.
  17. I was wondering the same thing. I not so sure I'd want to drive one.
  18. Keeping the nightmare alive. I just don't get the obsession people have over the Uncertain T. IMO was an ugly car. I do like a nice T street rod and/or showcar. From what I can see this neither. And from what I've read here, and elsewhere , Steve Scott sounds like he's either nuts or a con man. Oh, and P.S. Yes I do know the car pictured above is not the actual Uncertain T. I still don't like either car.
  19. I too wish to say Merry Christmas to all of you out there. I hope everybody has a good one.
  20. Heck of a list. But I'm in no rush for this one now. The Monogram Cessna 180 floatplane is higher on my list at this time.
