Yes Dave, you are correct, I wanted a 1/24 '66 to add in with my 1/24 diecast collection. I used a Monogram '64 GTO chassis, attached the flip front to the body, filled the hood section with one from a Lindberg kit, did all the appropriate filling and sanding etc. It was a bear but it worked out alright. LOL, you nailed it Steve. It's an M2 model I redone to replicate Danbury Mint's Yenko Camaro. The Firebird is a cheapie Welly model stripped and redone as well. This is DM's, which goes for big bucks on the secondary market, I have about $70 in mine including the price of the diecast. And mine.

Beautiful Pete, a friend of mine taught me a neat little trick for emblems. Foil them before you paint and then buff the paint off the foil, works like a charm, just don't buff through the foil lol. I need to get one of these kits, the same friend built one in Emberglo and it is stunning.

I've been considering picking one of these up, cutting it up and grafting a 69/70 GTO nose on one and making my own version of a Ponchimino. Pontiac dash conversion and Rally II's. Hmmmmm, sounds like a fun project. I actually have a GMP '71 GTO front end already cut for such a conversion.

Richard, I think that'll make a great base to start with. So many options to choose from. Even just a nice set of 20's from Pegasus would look way better. I'm kinda diggin' the Warbird theme you mentioned. That would look pretty mean.

I did finally pick one of these up, it is definitely 1/24. One question, the one I have has the Impala emblems on the rear quarters, all others I've seen at various toy shows do not and the TV car doesn't either. Is this maybe an error version? Just curious. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Greg, Pegasus makes a real nice set of chrome steelies, I bought a set, dechromed them and used them on my Super Bee, I have another set, just don't know what I'm going to use them one yet, they are really nice though. I dig where you're going with this, especially the headlight surround conversion. Keep us posted.

The 1/24 Testors diecast kit has it. I'm building one of those as The Punisher GTO.
