  1. There were no V6s in these. Just as an aside, there is a fairly reasonable facsimile of the correct Ford 240/300 in some of the moeb F100 kits.
  2. Sorry Bill, meant his comment, not yours
  3. As the man said... The correct info is in the graphic; your comment makes no sense
  4. Perhaps not likely but maybe we can hope they've improved proportions on the toylike '68/69 F100 grill for the '67. Fortunately there's a resin caster with a ready replacement
  5. The amt F350 dana is a drop-in fit for all the meob F series chassis and the front suspension (2&4wd) fits with minor mods as well. You could also source the diff from the amt roadrunner/satellite or a monogram hemi car.
  6. Continues right to the present day A recent much ballyhooed light commercial release and a couple of mid sixties cars had numerous parts copied from older kits. I realize the money just isn't there for large staffs of 'prototypers' but please, for your own reputations' sake, find people that know the subject matter and can develop (or find) accurate parts
  7. The moebius 9 inch carriers(front part) are the last ones you would want to pick if you want an accurate model. The axle housing itself is fairly decent. The best ones currently are in the revell bronco, 29/30 model As(newest issue) and the amt 39 wagonrod. More detail here... http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/108330-ford-9-inch-axles-in-scale/?tab=comments#comment-1537844
  8. Great weathering! An outfit called rookieresin has come out with a much more accurate grill for these. Worth a look.
  9. Any word on whether the '68 gto dash is available yet for those building '68 beaumonts ? Could even be used by guys wanting to make their monogram gtos more accurate. Another caster I asked didn't consider it a worthy use of his time ... maybe we can prove him wrong
  10. MCR had a pretty good run, but they never did fill the gap left when Tom Shaw passed away
  11. If one actually stops to consider the reams of information so easily accessible in some non-current threads and how advantageous it is to be able to reactivate as necessary, there might be a lot less moaning about it... but without a chance to moan and b about things, some would just have to go elsewhere
  12. That looks like great stuff! The flareside tailgate would be accurate from '53-'68 (including the Foose truck) and the styleside gate from '64-'66. With the upper panel from the moeb tailgate, it would be accurate for the 67-'68 mercs.
  13. My introduction to the world of rewrapped kits fortunately didn't turn out to be an expensive one. Some older kits had shown up at a hobby shop under consignment from a collector. Bought a couple without realizing the rewrap. One was missing slicks and had wear on box that I hadn't noticed but otherwise nothing wrong. Keep your eyes open
  14. Ask for two and I'll be interested in the extra to reconstruct my old Belvedere
  15. Thanks for sharing those pics Mr B. Some great stuff to look forward to. Good to see the 4x4 will have the correct 5 lug wheels...
  16. Here's a, um, retired '64 laurentian Even with north of the border cars using the '58-'64 chevy x-frame, underbody priming practices were probably similar.
  17. Great to see this project fall into your hands, Roger. Great inspiration for the rest of us fordnatics Truly spoken; the company 'cribbed' the 66/67 fairlane/comet chassis (and various Ford truck parts) from amt and slightly modified it. The 'borrowing' isn't really the main issue here, as its happened before in the industry. What's needed is someone who knows how to separate the wheat from the chaff when looking for items they can, um, appropriate
  18. Here's a reference pic of the standard steel wheel design Ford used on vans and pickups...
  19. You guys can have that sci-fi stuff Nice art but holds not a particle of attraction for me. Haven't seen Jairus Watson's name here yet but I think he definitely rates mention
  20. Very nice combination. Do you have more pics of the body mods? Sure a little safer to ride in with the perimeter frame vs the x frame it would have been built with
  21. Good eye Looks like they used them for the '65-'68 rhd cars as they were easy to convert. Interesting pics here... https://canadianponcho.activeboard.com/t61771026/anyone-have-photos-of-a-rhd-69-dash/?page=1
  22. there's a fair amount of good rhd pics on google images; appears to be a number of survivors in australia ...
  23. Interesting. Maybe mpc didn't scale it right. Should be roughly 5" for a bville. Wonder if all the '66-'70 mpc kits had the same chassis. Doesn't really matter anyways, as what's needed is to get the wheels centered in their openings. Looks like you have leeway to adjust the wheelbase as you see fit. My chev dash isn't converted to rhd, I was just offering it in case you didn't have one laying round to convert.
  24. If the wheelbase on your kit chassis scales to 121", it's possibly sourced from the amt grand prix rather than the bonneville. It'll probably be easier to use the '70 chassis to keep the wheels centered in the openings. Properly shortening the bonneville body will probably not be worth the effort as in scale you'll find few who will know the difference anyways. The g/p, catalina and ventura had the 121 wheelbase and overall length of these cars is identical to the parisenne/laurentians. To use the 2" shorter chev wheelbase under the pontiac skin was fairly easy for GM as all they had to do was to allow they rear axle to sit one inch forward in the wheel opening. You can kind of see this in your pic. The front wheel center sits 1" back in the wheel opening, possibly necessitating a slightly different front fender than the US cars. Of course, mounting of exterior sheetmetal and bumpers had to be altered because of the chev superstructure/cowl/frame etc. Note also that the canadian pontiacs had parallel wipers rather than the US clapper style through most of the sixties. Learning this info has helped me on one of my own projects, a '65 parisienne 409 custom sport ragtop using the amt grand prix and revell '65 chev chassis. If you don't have the '65/'66 chev dash for your rhd conversion I've got an extra you can have.
