  1. One of them is probably this one, Scott. 'Assembled' by Bill Neumann using pics of Don Emmons' projects published in R&C. (done without crediting Mr Emmons)
  2. Fortunately, this is one of the rare kits that has contents equaling the appeal of the art ... and yes, ignore the trolling; as Casey mentioned, lots of us share this affliction.
  3. With a little help from an a-daptor kit.. as Mr Cash put it... Spotted this pre-assembled one at a swap meet. Wish I'd kept the pic of the big scale Ford Indy engine I missed on the big auction site a few years back.
  4. This one might deserve its own thread. It will be interesting to see how they achieve the '67 only door panels, grill, heater controls (knobs instead of slide controls) and a smaller radio face. If the grill is just a rehash of their toy-like '69 rendition with different center bars, it's good to know rookie resin has you covered with a pretty accurate replacement.
  5. Reminds me of Vince Gill singing 'she might have took my car keys, but she forgot about my old john deere' ...apparently written about an anecdote involving George Jones
  6. Nice work, Bob! Is this the original kit engine or sourced elsewhere? Interesting that they hang the generator so low.
  7. Butterworth had an interesting life, writing under many different pseudonyms; including Griffin, Douglas and Williams. Those names definitely ring a bell in my memory as authors of books I've read. Now the search for them begins Thanks for the input!
  8. Black tiger at Indy is a good one; got it here somewhere too along with another hardcover 'drag strip danger'.
  9. Many of us interested in 1:1 and scale cars had certain influences that steered us into these hobbies like friends, car novels and books. I seem to remember an editorial a few years back in R&T (I think) where the gent recalled the influence of 'The Red Car' on his choice of career. Here's a pic of some I have. There's a few other racing related stories I read as a teen but danged if I can remember the titles and authors. Do any of you guys have or remember other titles?
  10. Great concept and work on this, Steve. Got a couple here I'm eying for similar conversions.
  11. Not sure if I can say it out loud here, so I'll whisper...it's on another well known model car site
  12. I find this box art rendition infinitely more appealing than the previous incarnation. Watched an online review this morning of the new offering and agree it's a must have ...even though I have two of the first run already. One thing I wish they'd done was supply tires along the line of the vintage scale firestone gum dipped style of big and littles. The track tires don't seem to have as much appeal for me. ymmv
  13. There were no V6s in these. Just as an aside, there is a fairly reasonable facsimile of the correct Ford 240/300 in some of the moeb F100 kits.
  14. Sorry Bill, meant his comment, not yours
  15. As the man said... The correct info is in the graphic; your comment makes no sense
  16. Perhaps not likely but maybe we can hope they've improved proportions on the toylike '68/69 F100 grill for the '67. Fortunately there's a resin caster with a ready replacement
  17. The amt F350 dana is a drop-in fit for all the meob F series chassis and the front suspension (2&4wd) fits with minor mods as well. You could also source the diff from the amt roadrunner/satellite or a monogram hemi car.
  18. Continues right to the present day A recent much ballyhooed light commercial release and a couple of mid sixties cars had numerous parts copied from older kits. I realize the money just isn't there for large staffs of 'prototypers' but please, for your own reputations' sake, find people that know the subject matter and can develop (or find) accurate parts
  19. The moebius 9 inch carriers(front part) are the last ones you would want to pick if you want an accurate model. The axle housing itself is fairly decent. The best ones currently are in the revell bronco, 29/30 model As(newest issue) and the amt 39 wagonrod.
