  1. Nice work on this 4x4, Mike. Love the attention to detail. Maybe the corrected box for these trucks is a difficult one to cast but it's been a year since this kit was announced. Funny that the casters seem to not see the market for these parts and others as well, like the correct '79 bumper from the bronco or the bumper guards from the star truk... mike
  2. While you may have had similar looking caps, the difference between this original F100 cap and the above cap in 1:1 is about an inch in ID ...these were also made with an argent finish mike
  3. I agree, Bill. That's been my beef with the M11 design all along. This restyle (at least the drawing) is beautifully done ...and I love the Meguiar rep's tagline: Remember, this hobby is supposed to be your therapy, not the reason you need therapy mike
  4. Might as well climb on the dogpile... don't C30s have 8 lug wheels? Actually, really nice work, Chuck mike
  5. Beautifully done '78 showed up at a recent edmonton ipms meeting; built by Kenny. Wish I had better pics of it mike
  6. Don't know if this guy has that particular one but here's a link http://public.fotki.com/drasticplasticsmcc/mkiba-build-under-c/ mike
  7. That was a great thing to do, Andy. How many of us actually have our eyes open to situations like this around us where we can do something positive for someone? I can think of missed opportunities myself but nailed one in a hobby shop recently where an 8 yr old kid had his heart set on a complicated glue kit. The dad didn't know much about the kits himself so I got him to divert the kid's attention to a snap kit kit instead. mike
  8. Wow, that's a benchmark build for sure! A credit to the great state of Texas mike
  9. Thanks. That's what I thought but I've always considered the pre '77 style grills more appealing... Watched too many Emergency reruns I guess mike
  10. Was that Dodge on the bottom left ever released as pictured? mike
  11. Keep the jag; I'll take the '62 in the garage.. mike
  12. ...and it just gets worse when your current build list is mostly major conversions The only one on deck that's pretty much a straight build suffered through a variety of distractions and paint problems this summer and is finally almost presentable Need a good easy 'mindless' build to get the juices flowing again.... mike
  13. Scored my first 50% off stones truck at michaels the other day. (like I needed another one) Had also been scouring town for flocking since I can't find the stuff I bought from Avenel twenty years ago. No joy. Then as I walked into michaels I remembered that article about embossing powder. Bingo. They had it. mike
  14. Great timing on bringing this one back, Scott. I've got an old smp '60 here too and on a whim a few weeks ago picked up the revell hardtop. This is great inspiration... Superb build, Bob! mike
  15. If there's any flaws in that, I sure can't see 'em Beautiful build! mike
  16. I bought mine for the box art and to get another body to convert back to stock with the coupe quarters... Too late now I see where Bandit resin's picking up where Missing Link left off, with a resin of the original 65 fastback. Fairly reasonable too. oh well. The slicks in the pic are about all that's left of the 'street freak' issue I built about thirty five years ago... mike
  17. That is gorgeous! I've never been a fan of the awb 'look' and I'm aiming to do that with a wild child kit. Nice work! mike
  18. Every truck in that amt F350 series shares 80-90% of it's parts with every other one, the main exceptions being the chrome trees and various accessories. The exclusive tuff truk parts were only dually fenders, grill, spoiler, back window louver and some 4-slot mags (probably from one of the old gasser kits) like the gmc and victoria kits had. I believe it was based on the '76. mike
  19. Well, the hubcaps will definitely be accurate for that F250 mike
  20. Regular price here at michaels is as high as they can get, probably as they're accounting for those 40% off coupons. Must be burning out as I couldn't see anything I wanted the other day even with the coupon. All that trip did was remind me, after staring at 8' of revel/monogram product, of just how ugly and dismal their current box art is. Good thing I know what's in the boxes as there was nothing enticing about the boxes mike
  21. ...'Ford did not make a factory dually pickup- with a box- until 1980'... Here's a pic I took of a '72 wearing '87-'97 fenders... Is there a link to that crewcab/modified box vendor for the non-facebook folk? mike
  22. As noted, wheels are a huge scene stealer. Do some research and use wheels with proper depth and rim edge detail for the subject. Seeing all those hemi darts with the shallow rear mags and slicks drives me nuts. And the stock steel wheels supplied with some of the older kits are terrible. Fortunately, there's plenty of good ones out there and the aftermarket is making more. Another thing about headlights; using ones that are the correct scale diameter hugely improves the appeal of a project. Especially the amt mustangs. mike
  23. Any news on a regular wheelbase longbox being cast yet? mike
  24. Wow! Those look great... mike
  25. The hood chrome was actually only used on the 70-72 trucks... mike
