Ah so, I sii you had to jus' a hammer to fitt the motor in se car....... naw, just kidding... sorry, couldn't help myself..... A bit tired now, guess I better go to sleep, eh...?

Looks cool! I think those wheels are supposed to be for 1/18 scale cars. I bought a bunch of wheel sets from an ebayer a couple of years ago, and they were very large. I measured them, and they came to about 26 scale inches in 1/25. They came in a blueish package. I've sold all my sets, except for one, that I'll use for a 1/20 scale old MPC 'Vette. Fits perfect on that one! The cowl scoop looks a bit narrow. Where did you get it, what kit? Widen it, and it might work....

Oh it's there, just click on Photo Albums, and way down almost at the bottom of the list, is the Concept Charger. Check it out, you'll be amazed....!

Here's my first attempt at painting True Fire
Modellpularn replied to Brian Nehring's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Wow Brian, you're the flame master, no doubt about it!! Seems like you got the technique down right away, no wonder...... Keep up the good work! -
Cool! I believe the kit is an old MPC Switchers repopped by AMT/ERTL. The top was a separate part, right?

Your Charger looks really cool! Very good concept. So, is it building itself while you sleep....?

Blown Royce

You want to buy my '83 Volvo wagon? With turbo carburetor conversion kit from Volvo. Right now I need to remove the transmission, and change the clutch fork. Fun job...... NOOOT!! -
Why resin? If you're lucky, you might score a kit. Why not look for a built junker, then dunk it in the brake fluid/alcohol tank, or oven cleaner, or CSC, or whatever you like. Then rebuild it.

I recently scored a '64 Petty Plymouth, still sealed for 16.47$ plus shipping, total 31.47. For me, that's almost a steal, if I don't get punished with customs fees....... That's about what we have to pay for a new kit at a hobby shop, or swap meet vendor. 35-40 bucks. Gasoline is about 6 bucks a gallon.... You guys don't know how good you have it, with these discount prices on models! Anyone up for some business? Buy models at discount and send me. How's that sound?

78 Dodge Custom Van.....Updated 11/17/08
Modellpularn replied to 1320wayne's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Cool van, man! I built a much reworked AMT Chevy van 30 years ago. I did the same opening of the side door. The front doors were a bit special, at least on the passenger side, since it's got that thin strip between the side door. The Dodge is better in that area. I ended up gluing a partition wall as reinforcement, but cut an opening in the middle. The rest of the interior was scratchbuilt, with a bed, and lots of stuff. Very detailed I might add! Too bad I don't have many pics of it, 'cus it was stolen from a hobby shop I used to work in..... Well, good luck with your project! -
Cool paint job! I'm thinking of something along those lines for my 454SS "El Camino" - bed molded to the cab.

Looks very nice!

Awesome chassis, Wow! Great workmanship! I'm not surprised it got a top 10.

Engine testfitted, looks like I have to cut the splash panels to get some more room for the headers and valve covers..... I had to file away some material on the heads, where they meet the intake manifold, otherwise they would be hanging too far off the edge of the block. Some "minor adjustments"....

Interesting bodywork! Always cool with these "what-ifs"....
-
Yeah, it's a different twist on the ol' Merc, but very cool! I also like the 12 spoke wheels, maybe raise it some more in the front?

Yet another 69 Nova to add to the mix

Looks like a killer, Irv! And it's red.... I like it! -
I have a feeling it might require some surgery to get the big mill to fit... I got the idea when I remembered that the engines from those kits; '32-'40 are almost interchangeable with each other.... and I figured I had a spare Hemi from that roadster kit. It would be really cool to see the model your dad built!
-
That's a wild paint job! Cool stuff!
-
I've also been tinkering with a Hemi, out of AMT's '32 Ford roadster. I've applied some primer on the body, in spots sort of....

Yesterday I got the opportunity to visit a car museum in the countryside, by Sparreholm castle. The museum isn't open for visitors now during the winter, but a taxi colleague had been in contact with the museum, so we could come and see the cars. We were about 20 people that took off. Here are some of the cars: Mercedes Benz 540K, totally restored in Germany, One of Ronnie Peterson's early racecars, a SWEBE, And would you believe, this bu** ugly car is a Mercedes??? Has a rear engine, not very many were made- 7000, and they were prone to roll over because of the lousy handling. Pre VW....? If the Merc was ugly, then this was majestic, as it used to belong to our old king. There's a story behind it, since the driver managed to drive it into a ditch. It happened south of Stockholm, and is called "Kungens Kurva" or "The King's Curve" More pics: http://s14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/Mod...arn/Sparreholm/

As I was testfitting the hood, I noticed a slight gap, and so I had to fix it.... hardly noticeable when finished, but you never know....

That's a cool delivery ya got there, bro.... but don't chop it, it'll be over the top as you said.
