  1. Sorry, but the model you have is a '64, not '63............. I've been looking for a '63 Dodge myself.
  2. Well, we made it to our retreat in the countryside, a 2½ hour drive from Stockholm. This pic was taken Tuesday 23rd. I'm having a small heater inside the car, if you're wondering about the electric cord..... The fixed up front end. Note the studded tires, they are really needed up there, as the road to the house was VERY icy, like a hockey rink.....! Guess they don't show up very well, but they are there. Here's a late Christmas Greeting from Kolviken, Sweden!
  3. This was built in the early-mid 70's. That year in Southern California made some impressions on me. The new Datsun 240Z was one. I thought it was such a cool car. When I came back to Sweden, I had to build one. I took the (then) new Revell kit, and made some mods. A Chevy engine had to replace that sixbanger, so I raided the AMT '72 Nova kit, and used the big block engine and wheels. The headers are very thin, so shoehorning the engine into the Z wasn't any problem. Might be a different story now.... It was just a fun build. Well, here it is:
  4. We had lots of snow maybe a month ago, but it melted away, so now it's raining most of the time. But I guess I have to switch to the winter wheels with studded tires. I plan to go to my "summer house" on Sunday, to see if it's still in one piece. A friend that lives up around that area told me the landscape looked like a winter postcard. I'll need those snow tires up there!
  5. Finally got everything buttoned up, last thing installed was the new clutch cable. Soo.... naturally I had to go for a test drive, to check if it was working properly. Sure was, and I went to my local gas station, to get some ethanol - the yearly inspection is coming up on Thursday, and putting some ethanol into the tank might help improve the CO rating..... I needed some other stuff as well. I rescheduled my visit until the 30th. Have some rust in the floor that needs fixing before I go there.
  6. I have to get me one of those kits, 'cus the bus company I sometimes work for, have a few of these. Be cool to build it with the bus company logo, or livery.
  7. Well, not today, but maybe a week ago or soo..... I got this old custom '32 sedan. I have an unbuilt, but had a hard time passing this up, since the price was right. About the same time I got this one, also for a good price! And this one as well! Just a little over 16 bucks, plus shipping, 31 bucks something total, that's a good deal for us over here. I seem to fancy this kit for some reason. I found another one some time ago, also on the 'bay, and also for a fair price. That one has the text in the blue spot that says: "Molded in Petty Blue" Anyway, among the new Nova, '32 Sedan, and '49 Mercury from Revell, I also got this one, but it's only an empty box. But I have an extra unbuilt original '69 Elky that I can unload the parts from, into this one.... Would anyone happen to have the derby car and other stuff related to this kit?? I know I have to cruise the 'bay, but you never know what your fellow modelers have in their stash....
  8. The tranny is now rejoined with the engine. But it wasn't "smooth sailing", as the clutch fork popped out of it's socket, when I turned the tranny sideways, and the clutch fork got jammed against the floor. So I drilled a hole in the clutch fork, where the metal cover for the ball socket had an open hole, and secured the cover plate with a small nut and bolt. Maybe it was for the best, that this happened, so I could reinforce the ball socket. Then with the help of my friend who raised the floor jack, we were able to get the tranny in place after a bit of jiggling. Shift linkage is connected. Tomorrow it's the rest of the stuff: crossmember needs some rustprimer paint, then it'll be installed. Driveshaft and exhaust are next, then the new clutch cable. The battery is being charged also. Maybe I'll be able to go for a test drive tomorrow night..... Here's the crossmember, all painted up and shining..... Overkill maybe, but at least I know it's in good condition.
  9. I think PayPal works great. For me, living in Sweden, it's the easiest and only way to do my transactions. I'm both a buyer and seller, but haven't sold very much lately. It was fun selling stuff on ebay. I had a few checks arrive as payment, but it doesn't even work with US checks in Sweden. So they were returned, and some time later I got paid via PayPal. Like Treehugger Dave, I've also got 100% positive feedback, and close to 200 feedback replies.
  10. Ohh wow, simply stunning! That Camaro concept roof, and those cool taillight extensions, the paint...... well, what can I say other than I'm simply impressed!
  11. When I took up slot racing again, I got hooked on this class called Saloon Cars. Here are some different bodies I've painted. First body I painted was this Mercedes, but it's not a Saloon car. Next up was this, think it's a Honda...... This one was done for a Halloween race. The figure on the hood is a sticker from a candy package! Some red cars..... This one was done for my son. He wanted black flames.... More flames for Sebastian:
  12. I've come up with an idea to fix the rear seat. Looking at the way Dollar painted it, I think he was trying to mimic the pattern of the front buckets. So I thought, why not graft the pleated panels from another set of buckets into the rear seat...? That must be perfect, don't 'cha think....?
  13. Here's kind of where I'm at now with this one. I needed some headers, and found a set from AMT's '53 Stude, and they will be perfect! Some trimming here and there, and.....; Oh yes baby!! I'm going to keep the body like this, with primer spots. Maybe I've already said that....
  14. I finally got the tranny out of the car, with the help of a friend. Something was wrong with the clutch fork, or so I thought.... Here it is, it came rattling out of the bellhousing, along with the throwout bearing. Nothing wrong with it. It was the bolt holding it from outside of the bellhousing, that unscrewed itself..... Here everything is back together again. I used lots of degreaser on the whole filthy unit. A view of the now clean tranny, with overdrive. I hope to get it back into the car by Sunday. I've fixed some other things, like the park light housings, and glass(plastic)..... This is not a pretty sight. But with some chrome tape, it looks almost like new again. Earlier I attacked the front spoiler with some paint, and also swapped the old dinged plate for a new fresh version. Much better.
  15. Hej Olle. I'm happy to see you finished the Impala, and it looks great, my friend! I've said it before, the seats are my favorite part of this build. Looks like really old expensive heavy English armchairs.....
  16. Wow, that's some slippery 'Vette you're building! Great workmanship with all those parts.....
  17. And maybe mask off the upper half, then paint the bottom half some clear blue, to look like washer fluid.....
  18. The '65 Camino kit comes with different campers, one is the small cap version, and then there's the large version. I think this big one was first issued with the '59 El Camino. I had to try it, but the big camper doesn't fit as snugly on the '59, as it does on the '65. That '59 Camino kit must have a slightly different camper. Another search on the 'bay I guess.....
  19. Marcos, that's a VERY nice Charger you're building! The black top and stripes really set off the blue paint. It will look great when finished! Keep up the good work.
  20. Cool project! I have the same camper and Camino, slightly started. I was more fortunate than you, as my camper went together without a hitch. I'll be following this!
  21. I was about to enter in 2007 with my El Camino, had to have seat belts, didn't find any..... oh well, some other time maybe...or ?
  22. Ok guys, this hillclimb was held here in Stockholm Sweden, called Heron Hillclimb. sponsored by Wheels magazine. This was from a few years back. The bigger car you're wondering about is an Opel Kapitän, and the small one with siren is an Opel Kadett.
  23. Thanks for your positive comments guys! I was thinking about changing the seats to four buckets from the '57 Ford.... but then I thought: "naw, I'll keep it like Dollar built it, just smooth the rear seat some, so that V bar fits better. Maybe add some T'nR to the package shelf. And some flock to the floor.
  24. Ohh wow, cool! That bodystyle really lends itself to that rocket exhaust type taillight treatment.
  25. I have a friend called Dollar. He built this one sometime in the sixties. He and this other guy were quite well known for their models. They had a club called Scuderia Hot Rod Mechanics. I got to know him in 1974, and he was a biker, car guy and model builder. Still is. Well, he gave me some of his old models, and this was one of them. It's been with me probably 30 years now. Maybe about time to fix it up....? It's painted with AMT lacquer, a deep candy red. The interior. Buckets from the '49 Ford, and the custom dash from the '58 Impala. Engine, a 392 Hemi.
