  1. Funny you're building a similar flying car, just like Juha Airio did many years ago..... I think it was in SAE around '99. Yes, I'm baack again. My old computer was really slow, so I have more modern up to date stuff now.
  2. Looks better already, now when it's in primer.
  3. I'm getting images of "Achmed the dead terrorist"..... You know, Jeff Dunham's skeleton puppet. And you put the fun aspect into modeling with this build, Ira! I think everyone should try something like this once in a while. Get away from the superdetailed umpteen year builds that never get finished. Just sits in its box. I know I have some.... But maybe its time to just boot the detailing, and finish the suckers!!?
  4. That 'Vette sort of reminds me of the old XR-6 show rod. A lot of work is required...... The Camaro, eehhh, ummm, sorry but I think I'm gonna be sick..... A bit over the top. Maybe it was hot stuff back then, but what's wrong with GM's styling....?
  5. Looks kinda like an old Strombecker body. Very nice!
  6. The world is upside down these days. I mean when it comes to who owns a certain car company, or make. And BTW, it's supposed to be Abarth. The Italian tuning company was known for jazzing up Fiats. They built some hot little cars!
  7. Very nice! Can Am cars are awesome cars.
  8. WOW!! Your paint jobs are outstanding! Whenever I think: "this is one of the best he's done" you show another one...! I really like the candy purple/burgundy, and the candy yellow. They work well together. Coool!!
  9. Very nice build of this kit! I really like the hut, and the paint/drybrushing you did. Those roof leaves look real! I've got a started one, like soo many others...... I happened to meet Ed Roth at the Oakland Roadster Show in '99. I guess my Surfite should have been finished years ago!
  10. Looks great! That kit is another one of those "must build" kits. I've been looking at your Surfite....
  11. Wow, that's a slick paint job!! Very clean build. Black didn't sound very exciting at first, but I have to admit my thoughts were wrong.... It goes well with the red interior. I also didn't notice you removed the side pillar. There was something that I could not detect at once, until someone else pointed it out. Am I tired or what...? That pic in the water was cool!
  12. A cool model! Looks very good in that diorama. I have to get something done with some of my projects this winter, including one like this. And a spinoff from the Barnabas van.
  13. I don't think so. I'm not made of money, unfortunately....And no lottery wins yet.... If that was the case, I'd be living in SoCal during the winters.
  14. This is a cool kit. I have an unbuilt one laying around. It's inspiring to see how other modelers execute and tackle modifications on their projects. One of these days I have to do what someone wrote in an old Car Model Magazine - tho one from the 60's and 70's. "Someday I have to lock myself in and get really involved" I thought it was a pretty cool remark back then, and I still think so.
  15. Very cool Ira! Just a thought; why not cut down just the very tip of another set of those flame lights, and use the them as amber lights on the front end? "To light up the Hemi".... Since you have them streamline fairings
  16. Cool van! I agree with some others, you should have slot mags on it. And yes, I also have one of these in my stash. Where did you find that cool interior padding? It looks awesome!
  17. Hello Ira, it was nice meeting you at the NNL West! I must admit wondering how this would turn out.....The first time I tried to look, my computer was acting up, so no images.....grrrr "But I can see clearly now" as the song goes.... Now I really like it! Very creative, and like someone else said, the Pro Mods do look a bit exaggerated. I'll be checking in on this one.
  18. Thanks for the info! But I think you got us scandinavians a little mixed up..... maybe Thor was interested too.....
  19. Ohh cool Chevelle! The new Camaro top really works with the body, and like many others have said; it does look sleeker. I'll be checking it out!
  20. Very nice! AMT's Deuces have this ailment that you cured. The pieshaped section job.... How much did you add to the bottom of the body? I've been thinking of doing the same "operation", or surgery.
  21. Thanks for your positive comments guys! How come I built it, you might wonder..... I guess it was one of those crazy ideas that comes from tinkering with different parts. "Hmmm, this Jeep chassis looks about right for the Trabant" Paint is some Testors rattle can red. Doesn't sound like a big deal. You guys have all the paint over there, but here in Sweden we always had Humbrol. Sometime in the early 70's, Pactra appeared on the modeling scene. I've painted a lot of models using Pactra paint. I got some Testors paint sent to me by my sister, who worked as a nanny in Carmel in the mid 80's. I still have a lot of those cans unused.
  22. Absolutely incredibly crazy!!
  23. The Turbine car is a "must have" kit. Maybe it's time to get that e-z kit also. Your models look great! What paint did you use?
  24. This one was built in the early 90's. Don't think I've shown it before, memory fade..... Chassis is from an MPC "Mount n' Goat" The rest is from the "Trabbi" kit. Wow Virgil, you're an early bird. Had a little computer trouble.... I think the mufflers came from the parts box. Exhaust pipes from the engine was made from solder.
  25. Thanks Virgil! I'm quite pleased myself. Now I have to retorque the heads, just to be sure. And Edelbrock recommends you do it. But that means I have to remove the headers....to get to all the bolts. Ooh well.... More work! Never ending story. And then I have to go to the inspection place with the car. If they think it's safe and ok, I can relax and do some tinkering during the winter. The SS/Monte Carlo dash swap is next up.
