  1. It looks like the MPC kit. Are you building it as a street car? Then I'd suggest you glue - laminate two or maybe three, or more... layers of strip styrene in the rear wheel wells, to make them smaller. This reissue, and many others had the rear wheel wells enlarged to fit slicks. Otherwise, normal street tires will look small.....
  2. That's a cool interior! And yes, you need some fat wheels on this one. Hmmm, what is it with some women....?? I've never been married, and don't think I ever will be, hearing stuff like this. But I think I've found a good one now. Sorry if it's OT.
  3. Awesome paint!! What a cool idea, turn a toad into an emerald....!
  4. Cool street machine! But it's a Mk2. Mk1 is more rounded, and I've only seen some done in resin.
  5. I've been thinking of doing this car! That episode was one of my favorites. I actually built a '56 Nomad many years ago. I kitbashed two old Revell kits in the mid 70's. Time to build another one. Your model looks very nice! Now you only need the guy, and the box with donuts.....
  6. Wow, you're doing a great job on this one! Those injector stacks look awesome.... and that new chassis was quite a difference from the old.... Way cool!
  7. My thoughts exactly!
  8. I think it's perfect! The color, scallops, Moon discs. I liked it right away, and your choice to go with the Moon discs was the right one. Cool!
  9. Hey, I think the first one looked pretty good. Even if it wasn't what you had in mind.... This new project looks promising. I'll be checking in to see the progress.
  10. I'm getting a bit of an urge to build some of these. I'm tinkering with the Beer Wagon right now. Think I need something uncomplicated to finish in order to get me back "in the groove" again....
  11. That purple paint really suits this model. Now I got some more ideas on what to paint mine....
  12. Is that the old Lindberg "Luv Buggy" chassis? I built one a long time ago, had all chrome chassis, Fiat Topolino body. Looks good with some color on it.
  13. Hey Romell, that's some machine ya got there! Impressive stuff, lots of goodies laying about, hehe. I also have some parts in my living room. But you don't want to be sitting in a traffic jam too long with that clutch....! I used to have a '70 El Camino SS454, M22 with such a unit, and it could be a killer on the left leg! Too bad I sold that car, but I have another, a '72 not as bad. Had it almost ten years. A nice cruiser, 350/350 that I plan to get a Performer RPM head/cam/intake kit for. Think I need to lessen my stash of styrene. Too much stuff just sitting idle. It would be cool to see your progress IRL. I might just be visiting San Diego in a couple of months, I hope.... If you check my photobucket link, there's pics of the Elky on the left side menu
  14. I like it, except for the scoop. I know it came in the SC/Rambler, but it looks out of place on this car. You're doing a very clean buildup of everything.
  15. It's a JO-HAN snap kit, they turn up on ebay every now and then.
  16. Thanks for the pics Tim! Lots of cool stuff. It was a real flashback to see those twin tall T's that Denny Johnson built! I remember that issue of Car Model when he showed how to do it. The early to mid seventies was a great time for modeling. At least I have fond memories of those years. I got lots of throphies.....
  17. A really cool car! Very realistic with the background pic. But what is a H&R chassis...?
  18. It has a different style, now with the NASCAR wheels on it, attitude was the word..... way cool!
  19. Very cool Bernard! The red/burgundy frame is a nice break of color to the pearl white. It had potential from the start to become a cool car! Now I need to finish my project that's just sitting.....
  20. It looks great! Funny thing, I was checking out the same kit just the other day, wondering what I should do with it.... You really showed us! And who's not to like a model with such a nice paint job?!
  21. Really cool!! Got to get more of those wheels, they work on lots of cars....!
  22. It looks great! The weathering sets it apart from the trailer queens, and also makes it look real! Yes, race cars do get dirty. I really like those rusted headers, cool! When you take pics, try to find a smooth surface to place the model on, instead of that tile type. That will make the pics so much better.... Almost makes me want to buy one, and the Tamiya Lola.... I had that one, but sold it to a friend, who botched it!
  23. Insane!
  24. Cool idea, I think it looks ok. But like Harry said, maybe a little off in some places. The exhaust pipe is cool. Wheels look too nice, but I guess "it's a new set put on after it was found" Strange place for the taillights, IN the trunk lid? But then again, you never know what an old customizer was thinking..... The stovebolt logo is in the kit, it's a chrome part.
  25. Yeah, go with the sombreros! And polish the paint also. For a real smoooth finish....
