  1. Lowell George played with Zappa for a time- he was allegedly kicked out of the band for suggesting they play his song Willin' because it contained drug references and Frank was vehemently anti-drug (while simultaneously pandering to the drug culture)
  2. I Can See Clearly Now by Johnny Nash, with Bob Marley
  3. Camarillo Brillo from Overnite Sensation. The poncho reference makes it's way into a couple of other songs as well
  4. The '71 Pinto had a 1.6L "Kent" engine- it's virtually the same engine as in my Fiesta, the main difference being that the Pinto head was semi-chambered and the Fiesta head is flat. The same bottom end was used in the twin-cam Lotus Europa owing to it's stout construction using 5 main bearings. My '80 Fiesta currently has 462,000 miles on it.
  5. Is that a real poncho... I mean is that a Mexican poncho or a Sears poncho?
  6. That's funny- my mom bought me December's Children when I was 9 and I honestly don't remember that song being on it. I was more into Get Off My Cloud, but I also liked As Tears Go By as I remember. Hank's suit is awesome, it's probably a Nudie
  7. I'm Movin' On by Hank Snow Don't know what the most famous cover version would be, but John Kay does the coolest version imo
  8. I think he may have omitted a comma which I've taken the liberty of inserting into his post.
  9. The only thing I've found that will reliably strip that varnish is pure denatured alcohol and a toothbrush, and even then it's a pain. So I don't do it anymore, I just paint right over it and haven't had a problem.
  10. Saw another Maserati down by the college- my mom was with me and I pointed it out to her, she said it didn't look all that impressive for a Maserati
  11. My 2 year-old Aqueon Pro aquarium heater failed last night and dang near cooked my fish- good thing I check the temp a couple of times a day as it got up to 89 degrees before I unplugged it. The heater has a lifetime warranty so I took it back to Petco this morning and they replaced it even though I couldn't find the receipt. Yay for Petco customer service!
  12. 1. I'm Hungry for You by the Police 2. Games without Frontiers by Peter Gabriel 3. Ma Belle Ami by the Tee Set 4. Michelle by the Beatles 5. Psycho Killer by Talking Heads
  13. Oui! Non. These are all fairly well-known songs by American or English artists except for #3, which is by a Dutch band
  14. How about a French lyrics theme? 1.
  15. I re-wrote my post about 5 times or I'd have beat ya
  16. Aluminum plate metalizer buffs out the shiniest, but is rather fragile- stainless steel metalizer is more forgiving.
  17. Actually, it was originally recorded by Fleetwood Mac when Bob Welch (who wrote the song) was still a member. He later recorded the solo version which became popular. Looks like Harry beat me to the punch
  18. The middle of the road may be the smoothest going, but you meet more interesting people in the ditch
  19. I've used TS-13 over decals, you just have to build up a barrier layer of many light, almost dusty coats before you spray a wet coat. Also, if you use Microset you need to let it completely dissipate which can take a few days. The acetic acid in Microset reacts very badly with TS-13 and makes tiny pinholes and bubbles.
  20. The only time I use Testor's spray enamel is to paint the undersides of hoods and back sides of wheelwells flat black, simply because I don't have to be too careful masking off the lacquer body color as any overspray wipes right off with a little mineral sprits and a swab, leaving a nice smooth edge.
  21. And Cherry Hill Park
  22. When all else fails, play dead
  23. You can put whatever *legal disclaimer* you want on the back of your truck, if something falls off it and causes damage you're still liable.
  24. Life is Just a Fantasy by Aldo Nova
