  1. Job well done Charles!!!!!!!! Looks awesome!!!!!!!!
  2. Hey Dan, no I left the hood closed. I thought about opening it up but didn't want to put that much detail in this one. It has the engine in it but kept plain just so if anyone looks under it it's there.... I looked at it as I was rescribing the panel lines and noticed the side panels behind the grille angle back and it's straight up and down at the cowl. Meaning it would of been hard to lift the hood off unless I split the sides and made it a three piece hood.... Or reworked the back edge of the grille.... Thanks for the kudos on it though, much appreciated...
  3. Just a few that I found!!!! There is a resin cast truck that is a complete kit being sold as well, not sure if you knew about it or not??? http://aitruckmodels.com/product/mack-r-700l-rubber-duck-kit/ https://www.gobytrucknews.com/rubber-ducks-legendary-truck-from-convoy/123 http://18wheelbeauties.blogspot.com/2009/03/famous-trucks-rubber-ducks-truck-convoy.html https://bangshift.com/general-news/celebrity-car-death-match/celebrity-car-death-match-rubber-ducks-1977-mack-from-convoy-vs-the-blue-mule-1974-ford-from-white-line-fever/ http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_9813-Mack-RS-712-LST-1977.html https://www.bigmacktrucks.com/topic/45645-original-77-rs700l-from-convoy/ https://deathproofduck.com/

  15. Ok, truck builders, I have a question on trailer suspension and such.... I'm wanting to build a logging truck and trailer. Truck will be an Autocar... Trailer I'm going to try and build one. Thoughts were taking a leaf spring and flipping it so the axles would mount to the ends of the springs and the center of the leaf would mount to a pivot so the rear suspension would be allowed to cantilever like a logging trailer. Am I going about this right or is there a better way? I don't have the funds to buy a kit trailer so this is the way I need to go. I'm basing it off of a Peerless trailer.. If anyone has done this themselves I'd like to see how you did it so I get a better idea of what to do.... Thanks in advance for any and all help/ideas!!!!! I can get tubing for the main backbone of the trailer and make plates to mount the axle assembly to it... This isn't a Peerless but it's giving me ideas....
  16. Ummm, WOW!!!!!!! Glad ya came back, your build is off the charts!!!!!!
  17. Ditto what has been said, I've had a lot of help given my way as well and as a builder on an extremely tight budget it is much appreciated to those that have sent parts my way!!!!!! It's an awesome feeling to know there are guys out there willing to help. I help when I can as well. If I see someone needing something and I have it and don't have an immediate use for it it's gone!!!
  18. Looks awesome, where did you get the decals for it?? Did you make them or???
  19. Nice lines, flows good!!!!!!!!!
  20. Good luck on your build Jeff, if you have them available to you, you can use two sets of rails and cut them to where you only have one cut and splice in them instead of two.... Just a thought. Or use Evergreen Plastic to simulate the rails...
  21. Great info HÃ¥kan, I've been tossing around the idea of a dual front axle myself only not on a wrecker, but the info is the same either way!!!!!!
  22. What?? Thought he was there already!!!! LOL
  23. Wouldn't take much to put that dimple in, jut cut out an oval shape and flip it and glue it back in and finish it off and you're done!!!! Fairly easy to do......
  24. Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I think Santa Claus is dropping them off at my house!!!!! Yeah, that's it!!!!! Lol
  25. Thanks gents, had a minor set back today with it. Went to a build and bull with the guys two towns over and on the way out the door I dropped the box with the chassis in it. Blew the engine out of it and the wheels off of it!!! Irked me pretty good but it went back together easy enough, got the fifth wheel on it today as well... sanded the tanks and got them ready for primer then paint!!! Working on this til parts come back for the Pete wrecker.... hoping to get this done before!!!!!! This will be done in Sunoco livery and will have the Lindberg tanker behind it when done!!!!!!
