I concur with everyone's comments, an excellent build of a tough old kit. Definitely one of the best ones I've seen built.

You definitely redeemed yourself with this one as it looks great. Reminds me that I have one buried in the stash I need to get to someday.

MY DAD’S SURVIVOR AMT’S 1937 CHEVY “THE GAS MASTER “

Glad you've been able to keep it all these years, that's a great memory of your dad to have. I have a couple of my dad's builds from that era too. -
Again, many thanks guys, glad you all like it!

Wow I wish I could make a beauty like that in 24 hours! Those Ramcharger cars are so iconic and you did this one justice. Like others, I too, have been on the fence on picking this one up even though I love the car. You've changed my mind with this great build, I need one!

Well done on both the Nova and diorama. Gold wheels and decals really go well with that green.

Thanks a lot guys, I appreciate it! Thanks John, sorry not going to part with it LOL! I used Tamiya Smoke on the chrome, 2 coats on both the wheels and valve covers. I had sprayed them separately, early on in the build, from the other chrome parts and for some goofy reason had forgot to spray the headlight bezels later on lol. Not a big deal for me though.

So sorry to hear this Carl, your comments and positive attitude have, and will, always be a blessing here. I've known and have considered you a friend for many years now and will continue to. I hope you are able to stick around here as long as you can, but understand if/when the day comes when you are unable to anymore. Keep your head up, you're in my thoughts and prayers.

What a cool concept and brilliant execution! It sure does look the part, very well done!

Outstanding build Marcos!

Oooh that's nice, love the steel wheels, gives it a no-nonsense tough look. Great work on the interior, too.

Just finished this up earlier today, build #2 for the year. These Willys kits are such a pleasure to build, with only the rear suspension assembly being mildly trying. My biggest gripe is the terribly deep gate marks on the slicks, I sanded them down quite a bit but didn't want to go any further in fear of ruining them. Box stock with plug wires. Color is Duplicolor Chevy Engine Orange-Red. Thanks for taking a gander and any comments/questions.

I dig it, cool looking paint scheme with the different colors. I'd rip it down the track for sure.

That is really sharp, those extra details you added really brings it to life. I picked this one up with, like you did, the idea of a quick & simple build. I'm thinking I may have to add some extras to it after seeing this beauty. Well done!

Excellent builds, you don't see these built up too often.

Beautiful Olds Randy! The interior is gorgeous. These always look good in gold. Glad to hear it builds up well.

Well done Hugh! That is a great shade of blue. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these someday.

Silver and black really work well on this. May not be your best work but it still looks good!

What did you see on the road today?

Same here, really tired of seeing them. -
Thanks a lot guys! Yeah these kits do have a bad rap, but with patience can be built into respectable models. I wish I would have checked his site before I started, I would have waited until he releases those decals. My usual luck hahaha. I didn't clear over them so I probably could get them removed if I feel like it someday. That's awesome you met him. Yeah I totally forgot that trick of using gloss paint instead of flat, thanks for the reminder. ?

Most excellent build, just the right amount of dirt/grime and love the mods to the body. I may have to give that a try when I build mine.

Thanks guys! Yes these kits sure aren't the best designed, but they sure are a great subject. I've got two more in the stash to tackle. Thanks Dave! You're right about the super speedway stance, I'm good with it! To adjust the front clip, first I made a cut on the rear portion of the inner fender aprons as a stress reliever (just ahead of the firewall, you can still see it in the pic). Then I heated up some water in a pot, not to boiling though, and dunked the front into the water for 15-20 seconds, then pulled it out and gently pulled down on it. I took it slow and repeated the process a few times until it was good to my eye.

Fresh off the bench, wrestled another of these Polar Lights kits into submission. The first order of attack was pulling the nose down to where it should be, then lots of trimming of various parts to get it all fitting together. Exhaust dump ends are aluminum tubing. Filed the rear window down until it sat flush with the body. The decals were toast and a bear to lay down (and very time consuming), lots of micro sol/set and a hair dryer being used. Got them on the best I could, a few cracked up and some silvered unfortunately. Paint is Tamiya TS-50 Mica Blue, a little too dark but close enough for me. Gold is Tamiya TS-21, same goes for the wheels but with a coat of Tamiya Smoke on them. Tires and wheels are upgraded PPP pieces. Looking at it now, I wish I would have lowered the rear a bit. I'm glad I finally brought this one to the bench and hammered it out as David will always be one of my all-time favorite drivers. Thanks for looking and any comments/questions.
