Clean and sharp! I'm really liking this. -
That's a classy lookin' Goat right there! I like that you added those Hurst wheels & redlines. Well done John!
-
Well done! I've always liked that body style, and the colors suite it well.
-
Thanks all! Very cool, you do a ride along?
-
I agree with all of the above, very sharp Mustang! You nailed that color really well.

Thanks so much guys! I loved this era of NASCAR too, can't really get into the current racing. Thanks Pierre. Yeah black is always a hard color to work with. Thankfully Tamiya paint always polishes out so nice, one of their great qualities. Trust me though, it's not perfect and has a few blemishes here and there LOL. I am really happy with it though.

My second completion of the year. I've wanted to build this car for a long time as I always rooted for Rusty back then, and this was my favorite livery as well. It just made for a slick & tough looking racecar. Kit is a Monogram Ricky Rudd issue, built strictly box stock with Powerslide decals. Tamiya TS-14 Black and TS-34 Camel Yellow. The build went fairly smooth with a few relatively minor fit issues, and the front wheels ended up with a little toe-in but I'll live with it. That's really about it on this one. Thanks for looking and any questions/comments.

I'll admit, when I read the title I was really unsure and didn't think I'd like that mashup, but man does that make a cool custom. Who woulda thought? Extremely nice work! -
What song(s) make you wish for an open road and no speed limit?
bogger44 replied to Jantrix's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Interesting topic, quite a few of mine have been listed (especially Sex Type Thing, Running Down A Dream, Head Like A Hole). Off the top of my head here are a few other bangers I'd choose... Really anything by Pantera or White Zombie Hellraiser - Motorhead or Ozzy Train Train - Blackfoot Highway Tune - Greta Van Fleet Am I Evil? and Through The Never - Metallica Black - Sevendust Whenever I hear it now it reminds me of my first ride in a Hellcat Challenger at a Dodge thrill ride at a Mopar show near Minneapolis, the young guy driving it was playing it on the radio. Good times! -

Thanks guys. It was fun thinking outside the box with this one. -
I'd love to do some hot laps around Laguna in that! Love the build, absolutely looks the part that you were going for.

Thanks much guys! -
Finally got one finished here in the new year. This is it's third paint job (and original color I was going to go with, MM Sterling Silver lacquer). I had changed my mind on color and the first paint job was with Krylon New Penny. Loved the color but it came out terrible. So it got stripped decided to go with Duplicolor Toreador Red, but had a heck of a time getting an even shade across everything. Frustrated, I broke out the Sterling Silver and, on a whim without stripping the red, sprayed directly over the Duplicolor and luckily the two paints agreed with each other. Other than that I had a great time building this and getting creative. I'm calling it a parts box special of sorts, as everything under the hood, interior goodies, hood scoop, wheels/tires, and decals all came from the spares boxes. Providing the grunt is a rebuilt (and now blown) 454 from a long gone AMT 70 Impala bomb I built years ago as a young teen. The headers are normal style long tubes, but I gave them some heat and bent them into shape to become fenderwells. The collectors are aluminum tubing. The fender stripes are actually the custom hockey stripes from the Revell 70 Cuda, just sliced & diced a little. I didn't include any chassis pics as the only thing added down there were some different lower control arms to raise up the front, and everything is black hahaha. I couldn't get a decent interior pic, so I included one I took quickly with my phone when in the WIP stage. Someday down the road I may throw a fuel tank/cell into the bed, but I'm calling it done for now. Thanks for taking a look and any comments or questions.

What did you learn to drive in?
bogger44 replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
First car I drove was a 78 Cutlass Supreme. Drivers Ed. was with an 80's Dodge Aries (barf lol). Took my drivers test in a 86 F150 4x4. First car with a stick I truly drove was my brother's 66 Fairlane 500XL with a Tremec 5spd (was originally a 289 car, but now sports a 69 351W stroked out to 427). -
Love those wheel upgrade Roger! The Swampers also look so much better than the kit tires. Makes me want to change out mine... Those bumper guards add a nice little touch as well to make it stand apart from the others. You definitely got all you could out of this kit.

Outstanding job on this ol beater! I love the tailgate damage. The rust stains at the mirror mounts and fuel door stains are a great touch too. Well done! -
Nice job replicating it. Your Uncle had a good eye adding the Z/28 wheels, they suit the Monte well.
-
Even though I'm not a big drop top guy, these Cougars do look good as such. Great save.
-
Excellent job on all that foil work, as well as the interior. Great looking build!
-
Those are mighty impressive! I really dig the Psycho Willys and 57 Chevy.

Thanks for posting this, and will love to see more of your builds in the future. Very well done.

Wow that is outstanding, looks like a real car. Smoke over that red was a great choice, made it a great shade. You worked through the problems well and the finished product shows that.
