  1. Wasn't really a "show" but rather a large swap meet.
  2. Good show and glad I made the trip, even though it meant a snowy, four hour trip home. Good to go to shows again and I was able to pick up a few needed things (like I "need" anymore stuff).
  3. Welcome!
  4. Great idea... need to give it a shot as I have a few packs of newer BMF I'd like to use up.
  5. My bad... I was referring to my experience with the Microscale adhesive. I misread the post.
  6. I've used it on cheap, thin foil, but not on BMF. I imagine it'd be the same though. It works pretty good from the few times I tried it. The key is to only put a thin layer on and then let it dry till it's just tacky not wet. Seems to keep its' stickiness for a fair amount of time too.
  7. I emailed BMF back in August after being more frustrated than usual with the newer BMF sheets I've gotten. Randy's response: Hi Rich, We have run into a supply chain issue with the chrome foil because of Covid. We are unable to obtain it at this time. We found a U.S.supplier able to provide foil. But they are unable to mill it any thinner than what we currently are using. I am sorry for the disappointment this is causing. We are still trying to obtain the original foil. End quote..... : I've since began using the matte aluminum BMF and while not ideal, and the sheets seem prone to wrinkling and creasing, I've gotten by. Let's all hope they work out their supply issues with the chrome sheets. I've experimented with using thin, cheap foil (the stuff I tried was from Dollar Tree and you can't get much cheaper than that) and Microscale micro-metal foil adhesive. Results varied and I decided that as long as the matte BMF remains workable I'll stick with that. I will say that the Microscale adhesive did work the best for the few adhesives I tried. It didn't seem to leave much residue and what it did was easier to remove than the others. My problem was the adhesive tended to not cover evenly.
  8. Well, I'm not from Tennessee but welcome just the same! ?
  9. Yes, I ordered a roll and have used it a few times and was happy with it. It's a typical paper/crepe masking tape and sticks MUCH better than the narrow Tamiya vinyl, which I agree tends to lift, where the paper Vallejo stays down if applied ok.
  10. Welcome Vern!... I'm a fellow Wisconsinite and am over by Minocqua.
  11. Welcome Gert!

Beautiful build. Love the custom treatment and the color choice!
  13. Definitely liking the black over the lime green. Good job!
  14. Amazing! Congrats on a beautiful build. Always great to see replicas of family cars. ?
  15. Welcome Todd! Enjoy your time here
  16. Welcome Lee... I'll agree with Doug above that being involved here and staying at it will only improve your skills and increase your enjoyment. Build, build, build! Btw, looks like you're off to a good start too.
  17. Great build!
  18. Welcome to the group Thomas!
  19. Seems like Folk Art has the best selections/shades as well. Hobby Lobby is where I get them too.
  20. I've used different brands of craft acrylics and for me I prefer Folk Art. Not sure why but the price difference isn't very much and it's always mixed and laid down good. And I've always used plain 'ol washer fluid about 50/50 but usually just play it by ear until the consistency is like thin milk.
  21. Welcome Chris!
  22. No worries... good luck with the project
  23. I have a tubbed rear from <I think> a PS Firebird that you're welcome to if you'd like to try and make it work. I've added a few pics of the tub and the Lindberg 61.
  24. Welcome Riley!
