  1. I like where this is headed so I'm following along as well!
  2. I'm with Bob... can't go wrong with redlines and black paint. Nice build Ken!
  3. Nice and clean! The two tone choices look unique and I like that.
  4. Nice build and love the color choice.
  5. Been following along getting great tips myself. Hang in there David, worst case you're learning alot from all this info that will help in the future.
  6. Welcome to the forum Christophe! Lots of friendly, helpful folks here that are always willing to help if you need any.
  7. Sweet, clean build. Congrats!
  8. Great instructions site. I usually just use the Fotki site and then Scalemates but nice to have another. Thanks Casey, I'll bookmark this one.
  9. Not finding the instructions online I was wondering if anyone knows if the AMT 72 Pinto kit offered bumper guards. I have the 71 AMT Pinto kit and it doesn't have them, so I'm guessing the 72 wouldn't either. Thanks
  10. Great job Jeff!
  11. Welcome AJ!
  12. Usual great job Steve!
  13. Beautiful! Great job!
  14. I'm partial to '57 Chevs but love all bowties. Love the colors of the '59's and will be watching!
  15. Congrats on the feature in MCM Terry! Sorry for my folded copy ?
  16. Yup, pretty sure ?
  17. Not sure if it's been brought up in another thread (least I couldn't find it) but congratulations on your being featured in MCM this issue for the '49 Merc Roger! Well deserved!
  18. Nice build of a cool car Lee. What's the color?
  19. Thanks for the comments guys! Makes the build frustrations worth it ? PS.. yes I saved the custom parts. Anyone need? Yours for the asking just shoot me a PM.
  20. It was always important to have a sharp blade with BMF, but now even more. Plus I found i need a fair amount more pressure on the cut and need to be sure the surface is squeaky clean so what adhesive is on the piece of BMF sticks.
  21. Nice Ford Tom... great build!
  22. I generally just put a decent bead of tube glue on the full perimeter of one of the two engine halves. As it begins to set I give it pressure and try and move it back a forth a bit (I cut off the locating pins, if any) to try and "squish" the melting plastic together. After dry I just sand well. Works for me and I also use it on other two piece joins.
  23. Welcome aboard Daiel!
  24. Welcome Brian!
  25. Lots of bodywork after removing all the doo-dads. I think every add on was used in the build, and maybe stuff from other kits too. Happy to be finished with this one as it ended with a foil struggle and ended with a mix of foil and Molotow. I got a return email from BMF the other day explaining that because of Covid they are having trouble getting foil sourced in the "previous" thickness. We know what that means when it comes to working with it. The adhesive seems inconsistent as well, but short of making your own they're still the only game in town short of sending out for plating. I thank them for the return email however, lots of companies wouldn't take the time to respond to a vent email. Still worth the struggle I guess..... I'm happy with this one otherwise, but as usual there are things that deserved more time. We've all hit the wall on builds and this is one for me. Body is Tamiya TS-11 Maroon and TS-13 clear. The Johan created vinyl roof, which is really good IMO, was mostly destroyed when I removed and repaired the roof louvers and fins. I re-did the vinyl look with Testors Fabric Tan. Too tight of a grain but it looks ok to me anyway. The bumpers were shot with Molotow and the interior is craft acrylic Ivory and Maroon. The exterior and interior colors aren't factory correct but I thought I'd like the Maroon/Tan combo. Afterwards I'm thinking it's so-so. PS... I added a side view mirror after taking the pics ? Thanks
