Beautiful color combination! Glad to see it hauling a Cobra, I was starting to worry that you were thinking the truck was a Cobra!! Just kidding, great job on the truck Ray. -
Simply amazing detail, you are a true craftsman!

No dog, so I've decided to try these snap together plastic totes, wrap the cars best i can and take them as a carry on. Hopefully it works!
-
There's seven models, six 1/25 and one 1/16, too many to carry on.

What is the best method for packing models in a suitcase to assure they survive an airplane trip? I was thinking of wrapping them in micro fiber towels, and bubble wrap over that and put them in a small plastic tote. One of them has a PE hinged hood that does not close. I would really like them to arrive in one piece. Any suggestions?

Amazing clean build, very beautiful model.

Just returned from the Ventura Hobbies model contest in Camarillo, CA and talked to my wife about this being the 15th DSC. I haven't been in the four years since we moved to Oceano, CA from Kingman, AZ. This has always been my favorite contest, even before it became the DSC and was at the Wigwam! Looking forward to being there in April!!

That's a lot of years of pain and a lot of surgeries! I really hope this latest procedure brings you relief. Thank you Gregg for everything you have done for the model building community.

Luckily most of the mistakes are hidden, but there are issues with the paint on the doors being a shade off although everything was painted together. One of the hood stripes tore which i had to cover with the number gumball. I wasn't going to use the gumballs, but they helped eliminate the door paint issue and cover the torn decal. I probably should have decanted the paint and use my airbrush rather than spray directly from the can, but honestly I've never tried that!

1968 Chevy Corvette 427 L/88 Convertible resto Update! 2/2/19

Very nice detail work! -
Thanks everyone!! The color is Testors Fiery Orange. Originally it was going to be for a '68 el Camino, but i thought it would be a great color for the Cobra.

David: It is a plastic kit by AMT/ERTL first released in1990.

This is my version of the AMT/ERTL 1/16th scale 427 Cobra. I'm not a big fan of all of the chrome on Cobras so i went with a more race ready utilitarian look. The car is painted with Testors One Coat lacquer and no clear coat. Upgrades to the model include Pro Tech racing harness for drivers side, Pro Tech distributor and wiring, rod ends and throttle linkage and Top Studio A&N fittings. Pro Tech braided lines are also used for the fuel lines and the throttle cable. The instruments are decals covered with Model Master gloss clear acrylic and the bezels are chromed using a Molotow chrome pen. The doors use the latch from the kit with a straight pin head to keep the door closed. Even with all the mistakes I made the model turned out ok and it was nice working on a larger scale for a change.

Very impressive job!! Love the el camino, and you did a great job on the mill. Hayden Flour Mill brings back lots of memories, i lived in Mesa from 1967-1989. Glad to see it is still standing and not torn down.
