Parking Fun , You know it makes you mad.

I'm far from it. I'm insured so it doesn't bother me. Was just saying ( dash cams etc ) can & are useful in circumstances where people feel the need to keep their car ding/dent/scratch free ?? -

Not if you've got a dash/parcel shelf cam continually recording ?? -
Technically he's incorrect, Scott. Neither is a 'bird. Both are Dodge Charger Daytonas. The Plymouth Superbird is NOT the same car as the Daytona & shouldn't be referred to as a "'bird".

It's the 21st Century guys. This way of parking, taking up 2 spaces, parking a million miles away from your destination is unnecessary. We have mobile phones with cameras, dash cams etc. When my car was brand new & I parked in a dodgey area/parking lot I'd simply take a picture of the car/s next to mine ( if any were parked next to mine ) of it's licence plates ( front & back ), go do whatever it was I intended to do. When I returned I'd check my car for scratches/dings etc & if none were present I'd delete the pics & leave. Simple. Everyone with a mobile phone can do this. It's pure evidence.... If your car is damaged ?? -

I tried Alcad 2 ...and it is pretty good!
CJ1971 replied to philo426's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It really won't matter how lightly you spray it, it ( Alcad ) will NOT give you a proper/normal chrome effect, just a similar shiny effect. You should also spray it with no more than 12-15psi on your compressor. -
Some Amazing Scratchbuilding
CJ1971 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
See... That's your problem right there. Nowhere did I say/mention I didn't appreciate your mate's work, nor did I say I wasted my time having a look at your mate's wooden car.... ? That's the problem with this forum, peoples over-senstivity. I'm sorry you're clearly one of those people. All I did was point out it ( your mate's car ) was wooden, therefore it would actually fall under the term woodworking, rather than scratch-building. ? Scratch-building is generally used in the model ( plastic ) hobby, this hobby. Working with wood, be it making a table, a chair or a car, is simply woodwork. That is a different hobby altogether. That's all champ ? -
Some Amazing Scratchbuilding
CJ1971 replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I wouldn't call it "scratch-building". It's made of wood therefore it's actually woodworking, matters little that it resembles a car. It's not exactly what we do here. -

What do these bumpers look like to you?
CJ1971 replied to Matt Bacon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Might be an idea to email the builders/company that built it, Matt? They'd obviously know how & what they made it from? ?? -
1969 Dodge Charger 500 Question
CJ1971 replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have the old MPC Charger 500 kit, the re-release AMT ( limited edition ) kit, the Daytona kit & both Revell Charger kits ( 68/69 ) ... I'm at work at the moment so I can't check the fittment of the MPC 500 grille into the Revell front end ? I'd say you're going to have to chop, saw & putty whichever way you go, because what the Daytona body has the stock 68/69 bodies don't & what they have the Daytona hasn't. ? I think the easiest, with the least amount of body work etc, would be using the MPC/AMT 500 body & the Revell chassis/interior/engine etc. ?? -
Mate... It sounds like you've got a major chip on your shoulder? It's ok to like a Mustang, it's even ok to not like a Challenger/Dodge, Camaro/Chevy, everyone has their own personal tastes. Opinions are opinions, everyone's got one, doesn't mean they're right. You've got your Mustang, be happy. Mustangs aren't the be all & end all of horsepower/best/fastest car in the World. There's always someone who's got something better/faster. I seriously doubt your Shelby, straight from the factory, would beat a La Ferrari, MaClaren P1, Porsche 918, Aventador etc.... Doesn't really matter about the price difference... Money talks & BS walks...
