  1. Could be used in a San Franciscan car chase (like in Bullitt) - Welly's is airborne, Maisto's has landed hard on the asphalt....
  2. This is by far the best build of this kit I have seen yet. After reading a lot of negative comments on the quality of this kit, I sold mine (got the minichamps 1/24 die-cast for a very good price)
  3. Absolutely my thoughts - it looks like a real rig on the parking lot of a big truck stop !
  4. Some great builts, Matt - I especially like your TR4 (it is my favorite British roadster) - if that only qould be available in 1/24 (Gunze missed it - stopped with the TR3 A) - this would be a great one for Tamiya...
  5. No, this is one of the two GT40 MK II Prototypes prepared by Kar Kraft (Ford subsidiary run by Roy Lunn) for Le Mans 1965 with the big 427 engine. Both were leading early in the race, but dnf due to transmission problems. But they showed the direction for 1966 (BIG engine!)
  6. Super nice racing Fords !!!
  7. Outstanding Pontiac !! And unbelievable truck/tractor with Power shovel - expecially when you look at the crude original model - fantastic!
  8. I second that! Very nice !!!

Very nice models, Anders - I especially like the P4 from the Daytona 67 in its after-race-look, the Porsche 356 and the De Soto Adventurer.
  10. Very nice looking Cobra, Ben (I just happened to discover it per incident)
  11. You did it again, KJ - fantastic build that looks so real... These needle-nose Petes are my all-time favourites since I saw the movie "duel" in the early 70's: really awesome with excellent photos !!!
  12. Very nice - I will keep the pics as a reference when doing mine.
  13. The best model of this kit - very well used, but not abused - it captures that after-race-look very well !
  14. x 2 - absolutely !
  15. Great-looking wrecker, Warren - nice to see a Brockway here !
  16. I really cannot understand how Altaya/Hachette gets the bodies of their 1/43 and 1/24 models correct (at least to my eye) - and totally misses the roofline and rear of the 1/8 - how about that? What's up with them???
  17. well done, Paul - I've never seen this one built - color looks like the Dubonnet red of my Danbury mint DB5.
  18. Great-looking pair of GT racers, Brizio !
  19. rather boring "new" releases - nothing of interest for me here...
  20. x 2 ! What he said: very nice oldie, Ken!
  21. x 2 - it could easily be mistaken for the real thing !
  22. You might also try Patto's place in Australia: http://members.optusnet.com.au/pattosplace/home.html Click on decals "T" and one of the first is Mobiloil Tanker Truck in several scales (1/43 comes close) Second possibility is DMC decals from Denmark/Europe: http://www.dmc-decals.dk/41677920 They have lots of decals for 1/50 die-cast trucks (scale is even closer to 1/48) - among them also vintage Mobil. Both offer good, reliable service - I've ordered from both several times and can definitely recommend them.
  23. while the rather long frame of mine (built in 1983/84) was not at all warped - indeed, very straight - the hood did not close and fit well - I was not able to fix it properly. Also, the handles on the mufflers were flat instead of round which looked awful. I was rather disappointed with this kit back then, maybe I will rework it some day.
  24. Isn't this a 351? The 281 is supposed to be the 2-axle version, IIRC ?
  25. The Maisto looks ok but has one major flaw: the rear wheel cutout is totally wrong (looks radiused in streetrod manner) - apart from that there are some differences compared with the b/w photo of the original car (above, had also a contoured bench seat !): The Porsche has been restored in the 80's (?) which resulted in different wheels, bucket seats and different front trim and bumpers - this was the version made by Maisto. In recent years, the Porsche factory bought it back for their own museum and restored it to - almost - original condition (apart from keeping the bucket seats and the modified front trim) - this is the Welly version, they even replicated the original license plates very close (the chromed "A" above the left taillight stands for Austria where the first 300 Porsches were built before the company moved to Stuttgart/Germany where it still resides today)
