  1. Good choice, Gary - I have the white version and concerning finesse, details and overall quality, it ranks high above all my other 1/24 die-casts. My favorite subject though would be hard to tell - I have several that I like very much.
  2. Thank you all, guys, for your nice comments on this old build !
  3. This is one fabulous model, Dave - I would be proud to have it in my collection - would also make a great addition to Gary's thread about Le Mans participants...
  4. One of Franco Scaglione’s most famous design during his time at Bertone was the Giulietta Sprint Speciale (1300 cc.). The prototype was presented to the public in 1957 (“low nose”), whereas production really started in 1959: 1366 were built until 1963, then the car got the 1,6 ltr. engine of the new Giulia and further 1400 examples were produced, named Giulia Sprint speciale – the last one in 1966. The car had certain bizarre looking lines - especially from the side and rear (Influences of the Scaglione-designed famous B.A.T. prototypes can be spotted) but achieved a phenomenal drag coefficient of 0,28, not to be surpassed until 20 years later. Nevertheless it was too heavy for racing – though it had a high top speed for the day – so lightweight Zagato versions were built for competition and the Sprint Speciale became sort of sporty boulevard cruiser, just a few found duty on the track but without big success. In the 2010 Alfa Romeo Centenary collection, Hachette issued a cream-white Giulietta SS, which was reissued a few years later in light blue (both made by Ixo, available only from Italian newsstands). The model is well proportioned, but the blue version has a much better quality in paint and general execution . On to the pics:
  5. Another one of my modeling grails came today (from Ebay UK): Porsche 906 (AKA Carrera 6) :
  6. Finally you show us this great model in the "Under Glass" section, Gary - I have been following your WIP all the time. Your modifications have paid off - this looks much better than the version usually molded in the kits of the day. Another beautiful gem in your ever growing Le Mans collection - even if it did not take part in the race.
  7. A top address is Jason of Jackmodelling (France) - his focus is on wheels: https://www.ebay.fr/str/jackmodelling
  8. x 2: If you tell me that this is the real car, I probably would believe you ! An extra bonus is the marvellous done helmet of Nigel Mansell !
  9. another one from the 80's...
  10. I just happened to find my '64 GTO again (had been stored away for decades, was built in the 80's) - here are some pics shot half an hour ago. This is my favorite Pontiac GTO . First release - molded in red - was just clear-covered, Humbrol silver paint for the trim. Maybe I will re-do it someday, because I have a MGC (?) photoetch detail set for that one.
  11. Very well built and photographed (as usual), Mario - you even gave it a personal touch in painting the black plastic fender flares body color.
  12. Excellent build of this classic Ferrari, Jason - I followed your WIP - outstanding result (also the Spider NART) !
  13. You did a very nice job with this classic BMW. I have mine not built yet but I too had the impression that Hasegawa overdid it with thes ultra-thin trim parts.
  14. Very nice Lamborghini, Peter - great paint job! (The only thing that catches my eye is the license plate: this kind of plate was used in Italy from 1976 to 1985 - with a modern plate that would be perfect)
  15. Excellent idea !
  16. Pierre, you will certainly turn this one into another masterpiece - I will follow this build as with the 250 P.
  17. Many great cars, Dave - the Dinos, the Chaparrals and the Canguro - awesome !
  18. Here are a few more...
  19. Looks great, Dave - this is gonna be an awesome model when finished!
  20. Fantastic, Steven, you raise the bar higher and higher...
  21. A truly fantastic model you show us here, Jason - I love them non-red classic Ferraris - will paint them dark blue, dark green, silver, yellow, black but not red (have 3 coupes, 2 spiders and 2 gluebombs in my stash)
  22. x 2 ! Nice model of the best-looking muscle car (at least for me)
  23. Very nice work - awesome paint and the red lines add very much to it !
  24. Wonderful result, Scott - I came across this just a few minutes ago - how could I miss it? (I should browse the bike part of the forum more often..) Knocking built models off the table happens every now and then, it can't be avoided always - but you managed to repair the bike again.
