  1. Sweet !
  2. A Volkswagen 'Beatle"? John, Paul, George or Ringo .
  3. 800 kits? I take donations, as I determined that, since I'm always broke, that I must be a non- profit organization . Welcome to the psych ward.
  4. Hey guys, I have some ocean front property in Nebraska I'd like to sell ya .
  5. While driving into Lapeer from North Branch on Saturday, I found this repair place that specializes in Fords. Here's a few pics... This '47 is all original with 72,000 miles on the clock (I'll trade him my ex- wife for it ).
  6. That was how a lot of these cars were delivered. You also had the choice of the 351M, 400M and 460.
  7. Wow, that is gorgeous. To me, this is the true essence of a custom car. The changes are so subtle that it takes a while to realize something has actually been altered. I love the liftgate and the color combo. Those Packard tail lights are nice, too, though I always loved the stock lights and housings (each one carrying enough chrome, to paraphrase Tom McCahill, "to throw Sputnik off course".). Beautiful .
  8. I like things the way they are. The general section to me is like walking into an informal gathering where we can express some of the things affecting our personal lives. Sometimes circumstances have a direct impact on what subjects to build, or, in my case, why I've been nearly dormant for the past two years. It allows me get to know everybody and some of their quirkiness. If I find a post uninteresting, I just ignore it and go on to something else. As long as there's no flame wars, politics, religion, racism or inappropriate or ignorant posts, I'm relatively happy (is that not the smile of a happy guy?).
  9. How about a grandma's car? Maybe burgundy with a white top with a red interior. For motive power, you could toss in a 302 with the C-6 from either the AMT '66 Fairlane or '67 Comet.
  10. Looks good- keep us posted...
  11. Wow- $488 for two empty boxes. Apparently, this will go along with the empty head of whatever sap purchases said empty boxes.Morons. Ya gotta love 'em...
  12. Great work, Bill . I enjoyed the tutorial that went with it (I learned a bit from that- thanks). And to echo Harry, it sure is nice to see a stock '49 (though I'm not sure of the Ford Blue for the engine).
  13. Here in Flint the thing is to slap on those idiotic Buick portholes and add as much chrome garbage as possible- wheel lip moldings, door- edge guards, gas cap door covers, door handles ad nauseum. Apparently, people here are fascinated by bright, shiny objects. I look at this nonsense and think, "you know, chrome doesn't class the joint up..." .
  14. If buyers are more style- conscious, how does one explain the CTS, the 300, the Charger or SUV's and crossovers? Most of the crossovers look like malignant tumors, and SUV's? How much style can you inject into some oversized station wagon? While I'm at it, how does one explain those bizarro wheel openings on the Colorado?
  15. Actually, all the paste- on trinkets and geegaws are what gives it its speed. Finally, a car for the man who has evrything- except taste and common sense .
  16. Looks like somebody did too darn many mushrooms. And that Charger is hysterically tasteless .
  17. Its real annoying when people shrink down real vehicles and claim that they're models . Great work.
  18. Wow! That rocketship side spear really looks wild on an emergency vehicle (I always liked the '58 Ponchos).
  19. Yeah, Mark. One time I came home and found Roxy partying with Brian, Eddie, Alex, Rin Tin Tin and Lassie.

    '53 Ford Victoria

Nice '53. I'm not really a fan of flat finishes, but I like the work you did on yours.
  21. Nice little Poncho you got there, Jimmy, and though you've apparently just had a trial by fire, welcome to the loony bin .
  22. What they said. The only way to effectively polish a pear, metallic or mica is to first have a clear coat over it, otherwise the pearl, metallic or mica will gouge the snot out of the finish. Good Luck.
  23. Thanks for the support, guys . My only problem is that I think, "well, its time to walk the dog- oh, yeah- I forgot". Other than that, I'm doing OK.
  24. I had to put Roxy down this morning. Friday evening her hind legs finally gave out, and she stopped eating. I made her as comfortable as possible over the weekend, and this morning I had her put to sleep. I felt like a Nazi prison guard delivering her to her reward, but at least she's not suffering anymore. No mateer how much you prepare for the eventuality, it still hurts when it happens. Thanks for letting me vent, guys.
  25. Nice job on the pickup, Chuck. Plus the trailer and Scout give it a story. Nice.
