  1. Appreciate the comments and the interests gentlemen. Chute & mount, I'll add the release cable later.
  2. Are these Johan cross-ram manifolds?
  3. Tamiya X-31 looks close, Titanium Gold. The valve covers on the 289 are painted that color.
  4. Great job Christopher.
  5. Here are photos comparing the stock Trumpeter hood to the tear drop unit I modified as described above.
  6. Here you go. The casting looks like injection molded parts. The kit includes the 1966 spec big block 427 engine an American Racing wheels used by Penske/Wintersteen.
  7. HRM did a very nice roadster trans-kit, I can post pictures of the kit if you like Drew.
  8. Very nice Larry. I wish there where more Carrera PanAmericana decal choices available. There are a few but not enough IMHO.
  9. I noticed the same thing, can't edit my own posts.
  10. I typically use .060" which scales out to 1.5" which seems correct for most race cars series. I bend the solid rod with my fingers or with round needle nose pliers then set the shape by heating it over a candle. I dissolve bits of styrene in liquid cement and use it like weld at the unions. Clean everything up with small files.
  11. The frame twist isn't evident in the photos. Really like the paint sheen - not unrealistically glossy.
  12. Simple Roll Hoop: More Involved - Full Cage: Most Complex:
  13. I think I would just leave the car out of the diorama, it just hides the great work you did on the bridge.
  14. The kit instructions show you putting the headers in the engine bay and kinda sitting the engine down on top of them. Might require more engineering to get a solid fit - we shall see.
  15. Gary, I had to add more curvature at the rear edge to fit the cowl and reshape the leading edge (shorten it and change the downward angle) to match the fenders. The width was spot on. I have a stock Trumpeter hood, I'll try to take some photos to show the changes.
  16. I have an Aurora 250 parts car if you are interested.

    Cougar II

Very nice Bart. The 1:1 was built on a Cobra chassis CSX2008 https://www.hemmings.com/blog/2018/11/25/lost-concept-cars-the-shelby-cobra-based-ford-cougar-ii/

    Tyrrell P34

Very nice, the P34 is one of my favorite F1 cars was well.
  19. Great work Patrick. I have always admired military models and guy/gals that can build them.
  20. Very cool set Mike. As you can tell by my avatar I'm a slot car guy too.
  21. I didn't care for the AMT hood so I modified the piece from the Trumpeter Street & Strip kit. AMT: Modified Trumpeter: As promised Dann - the stance:
  22. I enjoy fabrication Ricky, thanks for checking in. Glad to have you along Mike. That looks like the same wheels Noah - thanks.
  23. Thanks Dennis. I hope to bring it to the club meeting Ron and you can see it in person. Finally got some extended bench time Dann. I'll post a picture of her on her feet soon.
