Bill, The Daytona Coupe vamach1 posted is the HRM kit built by a MAMA member. I disagree that the Arii kit is a good representation of the '65 Daytona car. The nose on the kit is too flat and extended. However I don't think the Arii kit is a total loss. I am going to give it a go and see what I can do with it. Keep any eye out for it soon "On the Workbench"

Here is the LS/Arii kit. Lets see, the box calls it the '64 Daytona Winner (it actually won in '65). It includes the decals for #72 car (#73 actually won). And the body looks nothing like the Ford GT. But other than those minor foibles they really nailed this kit. The LS version includes these really nice turned aluminum/white metal Halibrands that my friend 65slotcar snatched from the kit before he dumped it on me.

I posted this a while ago but I thought this build deserved some better pictures.

My 325 doesn't quite sound like that - must be something wrong with it.

I am currently gathering information and parts in hopes of building the '67 Eagle in 1/24 scale. It might take awhile to get everything together but if I think I can pull it off I will post the build.

Michael, The kit was water damaged when I purchased it. I think that's where the corrosion came from.

Casey, you have inspired me to build a Ford C600 race car hauler. Picked up the Stake Bed kit at our model meeting yesterday so I'll be following your build. Keep up the excellent work.

I bought a kit recently with damaged photoetch. It appears to be corroded. Does anyone have any suggestions about how I might restore the photoetch?

Thunder Valley Miniatures did a nice trans-kit of the MkI. It's long out of production but with the release of Fujimi's MKI it has pretty much become obsolete, except for the very nice wheels/tires. Fujimi took a short cut with their MkI kit in that the used the MkII rear tires that are much too narrow for the MkI. Compare the TVM set on the left with Fujimi’s on the right.
