The early Revell kits have always been daunting to build, but especially for a kid. I preferred to build Monogram kits as a kid, Tom Daniel's kits in particular. They went together well and being molded in color meant no body painting(!). I just purchased another kit and plan to build it as a production 914/6. Maybe I can inspire you to build yours.

The vent posts that are supplied in the kit are pretty much chrome blobs as you can see in the photo. So I replaced them with some .030 x.040 styrene strip. Big improvement I think.

Done the Polar Lights stock car chassis under the MPC Mercury Cyclone. Here are the results.

Thanks John. Nobody know the car better than the mechanic that works on them. The TV show Wheeler Dealers restored a 4-cylinder and the decided to drop the engine instead of stand on their heads to work on it.

How big a geek am I? New Years eve and I home modeling. It been quite some time since I posted an update. However I have finished flaring the front air dam. Cut in the front oil cooler opening. Fit the 'boot' lid and engine cover. Lots of fiddling and modifying to get those panels to fit nicely.

Ron, Great build. Is the engine from the '57 Ford kit? Did you scratch build the fuel injection?

Glenn, The red Cobra is a replica of CSX 2026. The Cobra that delivered the first race win to Shelby and the only race win for the 260 cid engine.
