Decided on the interior color which will be a light tan with the carpet being a little more darker tan then then the light tan. The body color I'm not sure yet but have two colors in mind. -

Some progress today on the Shelby which was removing both front grills & fitting the replacement grill, attaching the front clip to the body & smoothing the front clip to the body & getting the 4 link ready for the rear suspension & the valve covers in primer which I think I will decal wrap in carbon fiber or maybe paint them the same color as the body which I'm not sure of the color yet but have a good idea what it maybe and also have the seats in primer also. -

Mitch thank you for the info on the rims I may look for the kit tomorrow. Some slow progress today but its only body filler on some of the parts that I will be using for the rear suspension. -

It's the reissue of the AMT. The only issue I have found so far is the fitment of the front clip which will need some work to get it to fit correct.I also would like to be able to get the Eleanor rims for this build so if anyone knows where I can score some please let me know otherwise I will stick with the Torq Thrusters. -
Started this 67 Shelby a few days ago and will be doing some mild custom work on her. I did not like the tires that came with the kit so I have found a set that I like for this build. Will also be installing a Super Charged Coyote engine & will have to do some slight modification to the back half to accommodate the tires & updated rear differential and suspension.

James thank you for the tips on the paint colors & I was also looking at the the colors from HOK which you can purchase in 4oz bottles as for right now I'm working on the top & bottom body panel fitment to the frame and it has been a bit of a pain. I had to cut the front half of the frame down the middle since the width of the frame is a little to wide for the top & bottom body panels to sit correctly on the frame so this will be a slow build for me since it is my first dragster build also. And thanks again James on the paint colors I appreciate the help. -

Tony Nancy Revell Liner New Build Update 5/26/14
Metalmad replied to Metalmad's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Worked on a couple of the body panels that I had primered & the panels still need a little work yet. I'm also trying to figure out to assemble the injector hat which is halved into two parts & the blades are separate also. I'm a stickler for detail so I will be trying to cover up the glue lines where the injector hat glues together & also have the blades functional. -

I noticed the wheels did not look that good after the alclad was applied so I applied another light coat & they look a lot better now. -

Was able to get a little work done on the Dragster this weekend. The frame still needs work done to get the mold lines off. I got the engine painted & partially assembled, removed the chrome from the wheels & blower & have been airbrushed with aclad chrome.I also have been working on a few of the body panels also which they should be ready for some primer soon. -

Tony Nancy Revell Liner New Build Update 5/26/14
Metalmad replied to Metalmad's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
I have been smoothing out the frame which has turned out to be quit a task in itself because of the way it had to be molded so most of the casting lines are on top of the frame rails and on the bottom so it has been very time consuming to sand every rail of the frame. Was able to get the block , blower ,intake , headers, seat & oil pan in primer today but still have a little work to do on the front of the intake. Progress will be slow on this build even though there are not very many parts to this kit but will be adding some details as the fuel lines & other details. -

Was thinking of buying quart of the clear ($24.95) but I have not used any automotive paints or the automotive clears on any of my builds. I have been airbrushing with testors lacquers & clears and it does get costly for the ounce bottles of clear lacquer thats why I threw out this question on the Dupli Color clear to maybe find out if anyone has used it and how well it looks.
