I likes the one with the McD happy meal until I saw the watermelon scheme .... I'm all in for the Watermelon! All of them look fantastic!

Color choice is definitely better IMO. The Dog dish wheels also look more appealing. Looks fast just sitting still! Build the Revell kit some years back and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have another but can't decide ( or find when to squeeze it in) to build stock or NASCAR.

1/25 Chevy Nova Salt Rat
satterwhite78 replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Lol! Should have shows the pictures with the background of the Salt flat first! The car looks great but after seeing the background picture I would be the first to argue that was the real deal. A tip of the hat to you and Chuck Most for both of ya'll weathering techniques. -
Sincerely the best looking Dodge Demon that has grace the forum. Fantastic weathering!

There was literally one less than a mile from my house, same color inside and out! Unfortunately it had two "looked likes'"... Looked like.... it hadn't run in twenty years. Twenty years of neglect from Mother Nature and her sons, the Carolinas Pine Trees all but covered the Fiero with spots of tan and green moss that you didn't see more of because of almost a foot of brown to golden pinestraw had smothered the rest It had sat so long in the same spot that ground level was almost at the bottom of the doors. The only hint of red paint was above the dirt and mud splatter from rain drops that made the ground wanted to suck it into a prolong burial. A far better representation of what once was than what should have been and never will be.

Built a Revell Firebird sometime back, nice kit but it was on the same stress level as the Revell 69 Camaro when trying to assemble the chassis into the body along with the interior. Sharp looking ride ya got there...those rims and spoiler are eye grabbers!

The Charger 500 was/is overall the better looking than the 69 Charger with the recessed rear window/ flying buttress configuation... Digging the Wing!

Great save! ( Curt says so too!) Great work! Great build to have in your collection. 👍 -
After some conversation with michelle on her experience with 3d printed, I decided to see what 3d printed models were all about so I order a kit off of Ebay. Truly excited when the kit came in. The body looks great, the interior, dash, wheels/rims and engine were in great detail. The chassis just below a generic AMT chassis but the frt suspension did offer a one piece LS & RS upper/ lower control arm with coil spring suspension piece however there was no steering linkage save for a one bar tie rod end connecting the spindles. The rear axle assembly consisted of a one piece axle, lower training arms and coil springs. Both Frt & rear suspension assembly required the use of a small diameter (plastic) rod to connector to chassis. You will have to prep (sand) most parts of the kit due to the printing ridges. Light 400 grit sanding and primer, additional problem areas/ridges will be exposed to correct. All in all not to bad for the prep work. Small delicate parts are just that...small and delicate. Do separate & just don't toss them in the box with everything else. They do break. Crazy Glue works, Glue for stryrene doesn't. Pro's: Great subject matter, unexpected detail in some areas, minimum prep with no flash, parts go together at the most seamless, comes with clear for windshields Con's: some parts will warp ( did use hair dryer to correct), small parts that break may be had to find/reattach, parts that don't go together seamless are so close tolerance that they must be sanded to fit (time & patience is important here), come with clear for windshield that you cut/trim to fit (time & patience), no instructions Verdict: I bought the 77 Pontiac Can Am to do next. Nothing was really hard on the assembly of the kit. I think more of a AMT Craftsman kit with an engine and definitely more detail in certain areas. Not to pricey a kit considering....all you add is the time & patience. Tamiya TS-54 light Blue Metallic, Acrylic craft paint Burnt Sienna from Hobby Lobby and Firestone Wide Oval decals

I pity the fool who doesn't like this... Couldn't resist! Lol, liked the show, the cast and your build of BA Barakus ride. -
What happens when the light turns green? Looks fast just sitting there... Another killer build for the showcase!

I stand corrected. After reading THarrison351 post I further inspected the model. Though heavily brush painted I did manage to see some tell-tale signs that the rear door were in fact scribed in. I recieved the Phoenix the day before the post. The top of the roof at the rear window I thought had been broken and a repair of a smaller custom window was made with an excessive amount of putty used, roughly sanded over and heavily painted over as with the rest of the model. Once home with the kit I discovered that the putty came off being puttied over the rear window and no damage to the roof except for the top rear window trim being degraded. I'm sure the owner at the time had a vision of what he wanted to achieve and did so based on his experience in modeling. Slightly embaressed by my assumption. I do not claim to be a complete automotive authority but I do appreciate Mr. Harrison's comments and the sales brochure with the various automotive styles available for the Dart Phoenix. I did mentioned that I had plans to restore the model and will do so as a 2dr, thus hopefully saving a small piece of modeling from being thrown away. Chuck

I had a coworker stop by the house one time, saw my model collection and display and made the comment " Do you think you have enough Dodge Chargers?" To which my reply was " A man can never have enough Dodge Chargers!" To which my comment to you is that "A man can not have enough Mustangs! Even if he builds "one more Revell Boss 351".

Built a Trumpeter Bonneville also. Could not believe it took 29 piece just to build the radiator! You my friend have just ascended into the Plastic Kingdom of Valhalla!

satterwhite78 replied to The Modeling Hermit's topic in Model Cars
Woooo weeeee! The 80's are back! By far the best Diorama setting with lights, with figures and with the Camaro as the center piece. It really pulls you in as to what could be the story in each scene. Fantastic all the way around! BTW...the mysterious woman in the brown leather jump suit with the camera is capturing all your secret techniques and sending them to me! Lol -
Would like to share a rare moment in modeling. A good friend passed on a 60 Phoenix 2dr promo from a coworker that acquired it and others from his father's estate. The coworker of my friend wasn't sure of what to do, either throw away the the collection ( I guess maybe the models and style/taste were from a different time or generation) or pass them on to someone else. Fortunately the coworker knew of my friend's modeling hobby, offered to which my friend said he would accept it all. Not really sure in total how many he recieved from his coworker but it was an assortment of mid 50's to early 60's. Buick, Pontiac, Chevrolet, Dodge and etc. mainly Promos'. Some pristine, some showing slight age & wear and but all showing a moment in time. In my small group of model buddies, I'm the Mopar. We got the Chevrolet, the Ford and we all enjoy some good nature ribbing and it is always a challenge to one up the other. My friend was very generous in gifting what he received from his young coworker and I, along with rest of our circle of modeling cohorts, truly appreciate and Thank him for his sharing. Back to the 1st paragraph when I recieved the 60 Phoenix 2dr. Definitely a promo that was molded in acetate plastic which has a tendency to warp over time. Unfortunately the drivers side and front have this effect and Unfortunately not much can be done in altering the condition, based on my research. No plans for restoration. The 4dr Phoenix is a Johan model. All standard features are the same with the exception of the 4dr has a somewhat detail chassis and no trim molding on the top of the front fender behind the headlights as to the 2dr having a basic standard "plate" chassis and top fender trim. That one I plan to restore... As I said...a rare moment that to me that was worth sharing in a hobby we all enjoy. Chuck
