Renwal Revivals custom Duesenberg finished
satterwhite78 replied to Paul Payne's topic in Model Cars
Has that mid sixties vibe and sophistacation to it, much what you would expect to see in a Peter Gunn movie. Fantastic looking! -
Sharp looking!

Beautiful build! I could not imagine GM not considering this concept but after thinking of the engine placement, noise, heat, fumes....engine accessibility would be severely limited. But we're modelers and that would be a "Engineer"'s dilemma....
-
Make sure when you drive it over to my house you at least rinse off the dust before parking it on my shelf...... Fantastic looking!

Not hard to see yourself tooling down the open road, exhaust having the low to medium rumble, the back throttle plates anticipating to snap open at a moments notice, you're coming up on slower traffic and the passing lane is empty all the way to Graceland........ 🤟

Silver Bullet.
satterwhite78 replied to Geno's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The Quick Silver series of reissues always looked good. Had and built the original Quick Silver when younger. What you've done by using the JADA parts is what the next reissue should have as a optional version! Love it! -
Big car back in the day and by the time I was getting my driver license and in HS, the school parking lot had several versions of Torino's and Gran Torino. Looks like the one that smoked me when the light turn green one weekend! Lol.👍

Good rendition of a quirky AMC offering. Those cars had plenty of interior room.

Being a former 72 AMC Gremlin X owner, that's spot on! Good work!

The last gasp of the Muscle car era. Horse power and big engine displacement were no longer viable as EPA and government mandates on fuel economy and emission stretched the gap each year. OPEC and a changing economy did worse to consumers' pockets. Dark days for the Automotive industry were rolling in fast. Aw heck with the history lesson! It's all in Wikipedia! One of the coolest one year offerings that guaranteed to turn heads cause as Pontiac advertised, " We build Excitement!" 3d printed kit just as the 73 Pontiac Grand Am posted in April. Great subject, not a lot of parts but some with fantastic detail. Having learned from the building on the 73 Grand Am, I thought this would go faster....... There were a few pieces on the 73 Grand Am that I had to address my attention to concerning warpage. Some hot air from a blow dryer coaxed those few parts back into shape....... This one was a different beast. Whether it was the curing process, the 3d resin or the ambient room temperature of my residence, the only part that didn't curl into a introverted armadillo I am proud to acknowledge but did not use in the final completion of this kit......was the box it came in. Clothes pins, wooden popsickle sticks, trips to the bathroom to used the hairdryer, trips to the kitchen sink for hot water soaks, days on end certain parts(chassis) were spent in "cloths pin traction" on to curl again the following day. As I said in the 73 Grand Am post, "patience and time". In the 77 Can Am post, "To little of the first (patience)and not enough of the second (time)." The biggest problem I have seen with this and the 73 Gran Am kit is in the area of the engine. It goes together great and the detail is impressive. But no exact mounting points for the engine to fit in the frame. On both I had to cut/trim the headers so the engine could sit lower but still sat to high as to prevent the hood from fitting flush with the air breather or shaker assembly installed. Extensive grinding on the hood, Shaker assemby and radiator shroud help lower the hood but not flush. Overall I am satisfied with end result, just more work than what was required to achieve that result. A shout out to Ray's Decals to which adorn the body....Best decals I've ever used! Thanks for looking! Chuck

Now I realize what happens when things get quiet and nobody seems to know what you are up to or doing in your spare time. Just saying what everyone is thinking! Lol! A-1 my man!

Thought you might enjoy these pictures. A 1950 Pontiac with a Silver 8 Streak in-line 8 cyl. A coworker owns the car and just recently replaced the water pump and radiator. This weekend he installed a electrical fuel pump until he can get a rebuilt kit for it. The big 6 volt battery effortlessly starts the straight 8 and it definitely runs sewing machine smooth. The Amber Chief hood ornamet still illuminates! His Grandmothet original bought the car in Rocky Mount, NC to which it has been in his family since. Only 75990 orignal miles. He's been after me to build him a replica...and after showing him your superb rendition, I need not say more.. Except to say...Great work!

Week day or Week end? Wouldn't want it to roll up beside me. A1!

That would be the one I would order from the dealer! -
That was a "HUGE" car in 76! Elvis coulda had a concert in the trunk if he wanted....with parking! Thank you! Thank you very much!

Looks like the real deal! That is one purty paint job!

I likes the one with the McD happy meal until I saw the watermelon scheme .... I'm all in for the Watermelon! All of them look fantastic!

Color choice is definitely better IMO. The Dog dish wheels also look more appealing. Looks fast just sitting still! Build the Revell kit some years back and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have another but can't decide ( or find when to squeeze it in) to build stock or NASCAR.

1/25 Chevy Nova Salt Rat
satterwhite78 replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Lol! Should have shows the pictures with the background of the Salt flat first! The car looks great but after seeing the background picture I would be the first to argue that was the real deal. A tip of the hat to you and Chuck Most for both of ya'll weathering techniques. -
Sincerely the best looking Dodge Demon that has grace the forum. Fantastic weathering!

There was literally one less than a mile from my house, same color inside and out! Unfortunately it had two "looked likes'"... Looked like.... it hadn't run in twenty years. Twenty years of neglect from Mother Nature and her sons, the Carolinas Pine Trees all but covered the Fiero with spots of tan and green moss that you didn't see more of because of almost a foot of brown to golden pinestraw had smothered the rest It had sat so long in the same spot that ground level was almost at the bottom of the doors. The only hint of red paint was above the dirt and mud splatter from rain drops that made the ground wanted to suck it into a prolong burial. A far better representation of what once was than what should have been and never will be.

Built a Revell Firebird sometime back, nice kit but it was on the same stress level as the Revell 69 Camaro when trying to assemble the chassis into the body along with the interior. Sharp looking ride ya got there...those rims and spoiler are eye grabbers!
